  • The FreeCAD Surface Workbench has got a new tool! Similar to the Curves Workbench but simplified FreeCAD 0.21 has introduced the Blend Tool allowing you to create curved surfaces quicker and easier without jumping back and forward between workbenches. With this FreeCAD tutorial I will demonstrate how to use the new features so you can learn and apply it to your models.

those lines are basically 2 pointed bspline and it would be nice if we gat aditional cross arrow like in transform operation on the ends in the 3d view window

Total Freecad noob here. Love the tutorials. I have it installed through my software manager (Flathub). Do you have an idea of how long it will take for it to get to v.21 or should I just go with the appimage?

Personally I'm a big fan of the appimage. I also use "appimage launcher" which just adds the appimage to all my menus/paths like a normal app, and also recognizes of I download an updated appimage to overwrite the old one rather than install a second copy.
Then again I also tend to use the linkstage3 branch and there's no option other than app image.

Glad your enjoying the tutorials. There is no date as of yet to get freecad 0.21 final release but I have been using the beta release / nightly builds, just be aware for bugs so you have to download a new version from time to time.

11:57 - if there only was a way to change (reverse) the orientation of a vertex…

I compile it myself nightly, seems very stable.

I use ubuntu so I download the app images. Haven't had any problems at all but haven't explored it fully

Hi. There are differences between Windows and Mac version or they are exactly the same?

Hi. I am not sure, it maybe worth a ask on the freecad forum.

Blend Curve ?? Where do you get it ? It does not come up in the Add ON Manager

    • @MangoJellySolutions

This is now available in 0.21 version of freecad, the latest release on the surface workbench.

@@MangoJellySolutions Oh OK I found it. I thought Blend Curve was a standalone WB . As you say, it is in the "Surface Workbench" which I never opened before. Thanks
