- East Stonehurst, Lunenburg in The South Shore of Nova Scotia - the red house on the island right after the bridge is Jesse Stone's house (a fictional character played by Tom Selleck). Based on the novels by Robert Parker, Jesse Stone is a detective who moved to Massachusetts in a small town called Paradise. The series was filmed in Lunenburg (Nova Scotia) and Stonehurst East, which is only 15 mins away is where the red house is.
Scattered islands, quaint towns, and real friendly people, are a few of the reasons why this truly beautiful, picture-perfect place can be "paradise".

AND I still love the music of Jesse Stone. I think it conveyed his angst, sorrow, and sense of loss. JS's character would not be complete without this music.

Couldn’t agree more. Jeff Beal apparently never released the music as a soundtrack you could purchase on iTunes, but all of the tracks are on TH-cam.
My wife and I recently purchased eight of the nine Jesse Stone movies on DVD and have been watching them in order for the last week. Really enjoyable. Light on action but strong on character development. Settings, mood and scenery are all great and his inner battles are completely engrossing. Reminds me a little bit of Longmire.
This series is the very best of American tv and I only hope Tom Sellick continues to make more. I was surprised to learn just now that it was filmed in Canada instead of Massachusetts where it's supposed to be. I loved the shows where Viola Davis plays a police woman. She and Tom Sellick acted beautifully together...and the dogs were awesome❤
I didn’t know it was filmed in Canada either, I am a huge fan of this series too. I’ve been a Tom Sellek fan since his Magnum PI days. I also love the series Blue Bloods

I met Tom three times at NRA annual meetings. I told him that my wife and I think Jesse Stone is some of his best work.

I was on holidays in Nova Scotia, Canada last May and I was adamant to find this house. It wasn‘t an easy task, I had to do a little bit of research and it took a good deal of intuition, too. I didn‘t have a car so I cycled there from Lunenburg. I found it! I didn‘t dare to go all the way up to the house but I was on that little bridge leading up to it. I spoke to some local people too, it‘s a magical place 🍀
Andrea Intveen what a nice thing you did, biking there! I felt your adventure through your reply. I went back there just last week and the red house seemed to be under renovation inside, almost looking abandoned. Winter’s coming and maybe they’re making preparations. Anyway for fans of the show, I think it’s kind of a Mecca :). But so wonderful to hear you met some locals.
Julius Reque yes, it was a big adventure for me and a very special moment when I found it. I came all the way from Germany to see it and I love those movies.
Andrea Intveen that’s wonderful! I didn’t know about the series until I was traveling in Mexico. Having just moved to Nova Scotia I thought the scenes I was seeing on the show were just too familiar! Found out soon it was all shot in the South Shore - particularly Lunenburg and then Halifax.
Next time you come back we’ll have to invite you to Port Medway!
Julius Reque well I'm planning to visit again next year, all being well, didn't manage to do the Cabot Trail in May...
I just stumbled upon this video. My family owns the last house on the island. The other 2 were sold over time to other families. Though the bridge is a bit updated it was also in a movie with Ron Howard called Run Stranger Run. Elisabeth Hurley was there before also filming the Weight of Water in my front yard.

I went to uni in Halifax..love the city. Many trips to Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove and Herring Cove. Best years of my life. Love Canada
The Jesse Stone movies put my head in a good place. I knew there had to be a good reason that I love the location shots.
Mahone Bay and Lunenburg are on my short list of places I look forward to visiting during my trips to NS.

I moved here from the States 1 1/2 years ago. I lived in Peoria, IL (1/2 way between Chicago and St. Louis). I live on this road. It's a magical place! Love it.

THANKS for uploading this. Beautiful music and video. I've loved that house since 'Jesse' first got it. Hopefully I'll get to see it when I take my long road trip around the US (but doubtful I'll get that far north).
Nitpicking, but the chimney is different. The old brick one is gone here (it was gone in the last movie from 2015). In this video, I don't see a chimney until 1:47 and it's smaller. Curious if they put in a new woodburner stove... those old brick chimneys crack and become fire hazards - this place looks like it'd go up in an instant.

Angel Carmen Ralat Thank you :) it looks like it does but Nova Scotia is actually very moderate. It snows but not too awfully cold.
It's not too bad. Since NS is an island, you get the sea winds and oddly enough, it doesn't get too bad in winter. I don't live there but have traveled there many times. I'm not sure I could love a place any more than I do Nova Scotia.

Never get tired of this video/the music... again, THANKS for producing and uploading it. But I have a question... what is all the yellow stuff at the edge of the water? I assume something from plants (like the yellow pollen from pine trees we get around here every year), but it looks big.
Chris, those are seaweed! They also change colors seasonally here. They go from dark green to bright yellow (during summer)

I think you can, last I was there. But at the end of the bridge there's a gate. The red house has sold I think, so I'm not sure what the current situation is over there. Thanks for watching ;)

Thank God depressing music isn't mandatory in creation.
Meaning...? Depressing to you is 5-time Emmy award winning composer to others. Jeff Beal created this signature score (along with House of Cards, Pollock, Rome, etc), which was awarded outstanding music composition and was very distinct to the show.
Hate this series, Selleck cannot write dialogue...all conversations are insane and tedious.
