My favorit scene of the series is when Winters takes Nix to the Nazi wine cellar at the end and the look on his face.
Just hope there was at least one bottle of Vat-69 in that cellar, would've been heaven for Nixon

Always loved the scene where Sobel tries to ignore Winters and not salute.
Winters by this point in the war had so outgrown, outclassed, and evolved beyond Sobel on every level that it wasn't even funny.
Not a petty action on Winter's part-- he just wasn't going to let such a chickens&%# officer like Sobel get away with such calculated dis-respect.
A very satisfying moment.

Hal09i Captain Sobel shot himself and slowly died in a home blind, and depressed for many years. Really reflect on what you say about people.
All of the men of the original Easy company said that while they hated him at the time, and he was unfit for combat, he made them a very strong unit with his tough training.
FlacoTaco doesn't matter, he disrespected Winters. Someone higher than him. If winters did that to Sobel he would have court marshalled him. Winters made him realize no matter how much you resent a person, you salute them when it's due.
i have a theory that Winters' action was a call back to the first episode where Cpt. Sobel ignores Lt. Winters' salute and he is left there standing with a lingering salute..He reprimanded Sobel for his repeated lack of respect.
If you squint, you'd notice some pretty familiar faces in this series. Like Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy, and Simon Pegg, among others.

The Pacific was good however this series has no equal . Too bad there is nothing out there this well done, or that has not been rehashed over and over.

the Pacific was from two different stories
The Pacific was about the war with *JAPANESE* and Band Of Brothers is about the war with *GERMANS* there completely different stories girly. and, B.o.B was made to be more entertaining, and feelings, The Pacific is more brutal and harsh. im not saying B.o.B didnt have it hard *BUT* the series wasnt as harsh with the effects, and not to mention B.o.B is The army, The Pacific is Navy/ Marines.
Generation Kill would be a perfect fit this
I've tried to get into The Pacific many times, but I keep comparing it to this, which I know is unfair, and I end up turning it off every time.

I like how Leibgott was smirking when Sobel saluted Winters
The part I liked about that was that Winters noticed it, but didn't acknowledge it. It shows his leadership because to have done that would have undermined an officer to an enlisted man. He saved it for Nixon, a fellow officer which is appropriate.
And Nixon's super subtle smirk/rolleyes combo.
Loved the scene where Nixon tells Winters he hid alcohol between Winters stuff and Dick is like "Haha, yea, sure, whatever. Wait, did you really?" - "Ooooh hell yes, I did."
(didn't watch it in English so not sure how exactly the conversation went in the original fyi, but it was so damn fun to watch)

They probably didn't think about it, but the "don't get hurt"-line is even funnier/meaner when you remember an earlier episode. A replacement is asking if anyone of them "got hurt" and the other soldiers mock him for it, saying "a soldier doesn't get hurt, you get injured".
Not meaning to nitpick but it was a replacement called Webster who asked Martin if anyone of you got injured? And Martin points out that injury is when you fall off a tree, in combat you get wounded.
That whole scene was hilarious because of that state of muck’s helmet

+Alak “Assassin” Lazarus Reminds me of that one Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan. Guy gets hit in the helmet and lives, takes the helmet off and Tom Hanks says to him 'Lucky bastard'. Less than 5 seconds later, he gets shot in the head and killed

Helmets aren't even meant for bullets and more of artillery and shrapnel. Most of the time it just grazes your helmet when that happens

2:36 - you left out the part where the shelling starts, _because_ of the fire.
3:34 - and here, in a twist of irony, is where Lt. Winters gets nicked in the leg by a stray bullet
Winters getting pinged in the foot really was the punchline to that scene.
The "is it safe to cross?" scene was cut short, Winters took a bullet or some fragmentation to his leg like a second later...left out the entire punchline.

the phrase “happy warrior” comes to mind. he has a good sense of humor but it isn’t excessive, and he puts in work when needed/asked (e.g., “I have NO idea!” when going into Carentan).

Well, in real life i think it happened when they were going through a field and it went through his helmet and midly scratched him, but i'm not sure if i remember correctly.

One of my favorite scenes is in "Breaking Point" during the second arty barrage. Lipton crawls into a hole with Luz and a dud lands in there soon after. A shaking Luz pulls out a cigarette and lights it. A twitching and shaking Lipton reaches over and takes the cigarette and pulls a drag. Luz, "I thought you didn't smoke." Lipton, "I don't." takes another drag.
And then you see him smoking for the rest of the series. 😂

It´s hard to find funny moments in a war,but there are some that are really funny,like when Nixon´s helmet is hit by a bullet.I read in the book that he drank schnap and spend the night singing and laughing becuase he was alive.

The funniest of them all , is when the other troops was with Lt.Sobel was hiding in a bunch of trees , when George Luz pretending and shout to Sobel to cut all the fence imitating the voice of a certain Major Hurton who was on leave , that scene captured the stupidity of an officer that cant even obey a direct order in a simple drill ...
I can watch this series every time it comes on.

I had a knack at getting officers really going over the platoon and company tank freqs. Mr. Mimic, animal sounds, anything to spice up a road march or 2 day defense.
