Equinoxe is being played by the Shadows in their segment when they did a reunion concert with Cliff Richard in 1984 at the NEC Arena Birmingham. The Shadows line up was Hank Marvin - Lead Guitar, Bruce Welch - Rhythm Guitar, Alan Jones - Bass Guitar, Cliff Hall - Keyboards and Brian Bennett - Drums. Great concert.
Hank Marvin played with Jean Michel Jarre on a track called London Kid from his revolutions album . brilliant track too . it is on you tube . look it up
GUY JAMIN je me disais que c'était le même son que les shadows qu'ecoutait mon père et j'ai eu la surprise de voir sur internet que c'était bien lui. Il est super bon.
honk ! :D being french makes this more hilarious :) sweet playing I’d never expect synthesizer stuff being played that way on a strat, awesome ! Being a synthesizer player, that was one of the first song I tried to play on a guitar :)
Of course Gilmour was into Hank Marvin's sound! What self-respecting guitarist wouldn't be? lol But it's not a total ripoff. Marvin was inspired by surf guitar players himself, it's not so much who contributes to your sound as how you put it together.
This works really well, good guitar work from Honk and his son.
it's a masterpiece from honk and jmj....
i'm still stunned...
I love the way Hank proves. That some guitarists make things complicated. When there is no need for it.
Genius, Mr. Marvin!
Fantastic job

i never knew that, i just thought Hank brought it into his solo act, didn't realise The Shads had been playing it as far back as 1984

Nobody can play the Fender like Hank !!

Well Maybe Ben Marvin which goes to show it’s in the genes
actually Gilmour plays it a lot like Hank! can tell what a huge influence he was on him
Best of the best - music and Geen Mitchel jarra.

Fantastico esibizione , io ho raramente lo sentito questo brano

You better believe it I don’t care if I get flamed but Cliff Richard was Nothing without him.
Magnifique
This is what we have when we combine Pink Floyd and Jean Michel Jarre :)
David Gilmore is on drums for this
Love to play like this gentle man
Great Version
I have always wondered what an acoustic version of JMJs stuff would sound like but this is headed in that direction
Great! ❤❤❤
Le meilleur guitariste 👍

What's the name of the drummer please.
He calls me HONK LOL
Very Gilmour-esque in Hank's playing here, or has David Gilmour just been ripping off Hank Marvin's sound all along?
There would be very few young guitarists who grew up the late 50's and early 60's who didn't take some inspiration from Hank.
It sounds so wrong, but such an incredible combination
onk

Oh I meant nothing by that comment. Totally meant to be sarcasm.
