  • @JK-mm4wu
    @JK-mm4wu 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

    There are already privatized versions, Fed Ex and UPS whose goal is to be profitable. The post office is not meant to be profitable, if it was then people would bitch 100x more about the post office being greedy.

    • @WarmthRainThunder
      @WarmthRainThunder 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      USPS has specific contracts. They're the only ones allowed to ship to the military. Even FedEx and UPS reroute their packages through USPS if they recieve any for military.
      And it sucks- packages get stolen and missing, rules constantly change with no update to website or posters.
      And at times- it's the same price as fedex, FedEx just takes longer cause it reroute to USPS.
      I say privatize it- I've lost money for packages they've denied due to rule changes they've never posted.
      I finally learned that when I was willing to call the police to impose a fine- they finally started accepting my package.

    • @theRickLC
      @theRickLC 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      WAS not meant to be privatized. Clearly modern politics and capitalism don’t care about laws nor constitutions anymore. If so desired and profitable for a few, it will be done. Where there’s a will there is a way.

      USPS service is becoming so unreliable that it is scary. I had 5 cases of lost parcels during last few months, including lost Mortgage check and some valuables. Also, the new delivery person keeps dumping my packages into the snow, on the driveway, jamming them into mailbox so tightly that I can’t get them out, etc. I called the 800 number and complained. It stopped for a couple of weeks but now started again. It is awful. I want it to privatized ASAP.

    Usps would save a crazy amount of money if you get rid of over inflation of management. They hired so many & still haven't stopped. There's so many positions that have no use that make close or more than 100k a year. Raises going to management heavily especially the president giving himself a massive one. Upper positions needs pay cuts. Less of them. Increase & get rid of CCA position. You'll see a massive revenue increase.

    USPS is a service. It should be subsidized like it used to be just like any other federal department or service is. USPS is not suppose to be for profit. They can’t follow rules no other business could follow and still exist and still be expected to be self sufficient. It is delusional for anyone to think it is possible.

    Voting for Trump and then being surprised or being opposed to him wanting to privatize should not be some manically unexpected thing.
    The moment Dejoy started merging services together in PD&Cs, I knew it was a ploy to try to privatize the post office. PD&Cs allow the post office to retain or sell valuable properties and also allow wealthy people like Dejoy to buy the "profitable" PD&C, like the one in Atlanta, Georgia for basically pennies on the dollar, and then become the "owner" for mail delivery in Atlanta and the surrounding areas and suburbs. It's a clear plan, merge widespread service into a narrowly defined area and then people like Dejoy or Fred Smith or Bezos or even Musk, can easily buy up "profitable/busy" PD&Cs, run their own little private mail service in Texas or Washington or Seattle or Los Angeles any way they want, basically breaking the unions into small parts they can crush and also controlling mail service the way they want.
    Sure maybe it won't work because Congress won't support it but the Supreme Court has already said, as long as a Republican President does something it isn't illegal so if Vivek or Musk tell him to privatize the VA or USPS, he will absolutely do it and it will be a knock down, drag out fight in federal court that might take years to try to prevent. People are living in a pipe dream thinking Trump is somehow going to help make prices lower on groceries and also magically care about workers. He doesn't give a shit about us or anyone else and the sooner you wake up and realize that, the better.

    Privatization would mean no more bloated contracts to private companies. It would absolutely destroy Amazon’s retail margins.
    The middle of America would see prices out of this world and force the states to subsidize through taxes…which is what should be done instead, but never would be. It’s not the population dense places causing the losses.
    People don’t realize just how many private companies are dependent on govt contracts through the postal service, that could not/would not exist without it.
    Vendors, trucking companies, software companies, mailers, vehicle maintenance
    All those bloated contracts cannot exist in a for profit company.
