AE has always done things like this for communities, they are one of the few air medical services who still do it. I hope they continue even being owned by Global now. Keep it up AE, it sets you apart from the others

I was a reporter a long time ago. I went to the local high school to cover their graduation. When we came back outside, there was a helicopter on the ground. Turns out the dad of the valedictorian had promised that if he graduated first in his class, he'd get a chopper ride. The kid forgot about it, but the dad did not.

Rotor blade flies off and cuts the whole cheerleading squad in half... The Rob Zombie - George Romero version.
As it takes off, a meteorite smashes through the chopper and then hits the 50 yard line, exploding with the power of 1000 tons of TNT. - Michael Bay - James Cameron version

Actually the helicopter is owned and operated by a corporation, so they probably ate the cost of the fuel. Do a little research prior to posting.

These aren’t you tax dollars and it’s excellent training for the flight crew. Flyovers and these types of events are not just for show. There aren’t many opportunities for military and medivac helicopter crews to practice landing on time in congested areas. Basically shut up kid.

Private company so no tax dollars were spent. They chock it up as an advertising cost because they sell "memberships".

IMHO this is a true tap waste of time and resources! I can take 10% off for public relations and advertising so that makes it 90% total waste of time and resources! What the heck….

There aren’t many opportunities for military and medivac helicopter crews to practice landing, on time, in congested areas. This is excellent training and excellent public outreach. I wouldn’t expect a non pilot to understand to crew coordination training that crews get from flyovers and events like these but I do expect a supposed chess instructor to be smarter. They’re flying for practice anyway, why not make it realistic and garner support from the community.

@@kyleayres5397 before you lob stuff, one should ask about the level of expertise and experience. First been a paramedic for 33 years and I loved each and every minute of my career. 4 of these years were spent as a flight medic, and then I got promoted so I had to leave the flight crew. Second, Yes we spent many shifts not responding to anything but billing questions which we had to forward to the billing and insurance department. May I ask if you were/are a flight crew member in any capacity, nurse, MD, paramedic, dispatcher, or pilot? Plus I did give 10% for public relations and that does get you time for training, so I did acknowledge that aspect, but the bird does not need to be flying to train, pilots have their own training time. Oh about the chess thing, this is my hobby, and now that I’m retired it’s becoming my second career. I volunteer at schools teaching chess as an after school activity.
