How do you trace a short in brake lights if that is the problem ???

Are you talking about a short circuit or an open circuit? A short will burn up wiring or blow a fuse. An open is a broken wire...not connected that doesn't allow for the electrons to flow.

I wonder if a LED replacement bulb would reduce the amount of heat in that socket !?!

I use led
