I could go either way :) We've done some stuff that's PVP with traitors, if that's what everyone wanted to do. And we've done it where the whole party worked together, and I ran a NPC traitor, etc.
The "ill will" thing is interesting. We've never ran into that at my table. We're pretty good at knowing that there are no hard feelings out of character.

As far as I know Alien RPG is doing this treason thing very decently. İt's in the system itself.
