I'd say, most people these days cannot live anymore and just have to exist. Everyone around them telling them they matter and are valued, when in truth noone matters nor is valued. Its depressing to live, when you lack eiterh money, beauty, a caring family or even a relationship. How can being lonely and alone all the time not be depressing and sad? Yeah... just existing in a horrible live then.

Thanks Halle. As someone in my 20s living by myself, I really appreciate what you said at the end of the video and helped me realise certain things that have been on my mind. So yes it was relatable! I'm sure you hear this a lot, but your videos are so peaceful but always made with fun. Don't underestimate what it means to people.

I think when I was in college I felt this exact way. I promise it's going to change and this perspective is already healthy! Living alone is one of the best things I ever did
Halle, you’re such a joy and all your videos bring me so much peace and joy each week. From a 30 year old, you’re so mature for your early twenties, I wish I had been so! But Enjoy them, don’t think about it too much. you’re not meant to be anywhere other than where you are 🤍
Hii I feel the same way.. im from Australia and halle when I found you on TH-cam I was sooo happy that there is hope in people that there's beautiful people like you around and one day I can meet you and say thank you and God bless 🙌
I really appreciate this video as someone who has had a lot more alone time the past couple of months than I have had in a long time. It’s a challenge, but trying to live in the alone time is important. Also, totally still love going for drives for no reason at all. Very relatable.
75 years ! Congratulations to your grandparents. That is a very nice thing to have accomplished in life. Also extremely rare. To have lived and loved someone that long is just one of the most beautiful things on earth. Paul Harvey, would call them world champion lovers, on his radio show. ❤
Girl I feel you, ever since college I have had a lot of alone time and the summers are hard because I mostly just see my family and see friends very rarely, I love my alone time but do fear that I’m missing out on something like fun trips with friends. It’s hard, but it feels better to know that others have these feelings too.
Next time start your starter at night! It'll grow and you won't have to wake up at 6 or 7. For sourdough, a kitchen scale is highly recommended, if not a must, because ingredients have to be a certain percentage. Pantry Mamma Simple Sourdough Recipe is my absolute go to and works every time. It's pronounced "autoleese" it's a process in which the flour gets hydrated and gluten starts to form. Sourdough is very easy once you understand the process and the steps you have to follow for a delicious bread! Good luck!
I feel the exact same way when you were explaining how you used to choose to be alone …. I have always done the same thing and now I kinda feel like an alien with other people sometimes 😹but I am so happy I found your videos because it is so comforting to see someone who is at a similar stage of life. I’m on my own for the first time in my college town too this summer and I’ve been trying to discover myself too 💓I wish I had a friend like you 🥰 I also have the same comforter too :P
When I watch your vids I find my self inspired and motivated like a happy puppy. I've struggled to find how to express my self muscly and because of you I now know how. If music be the food of love, play on play on I shall
I love your vlogs. Just feels like I'm hanging out with a friend, and weirdly enough makes me feel better about enjoying time by myself. Sometimes when I'm down I'll watch one of your videos and they always make me feel more inspired to try and become closer with myself and go do something productive or creative. Anyways just wanted to say thanks for being you :)
The conversation at 14:00 is something I constantly have to remind myself. Watching people have fun is okay bc my time will eventually come too! Then others will have to watch me.
You're doing great on your own halls, spending time alone and living by yourself is a treasure and you're doing a great job at exploring yourself and your interests
I understand you fully Halle, with the feeling bad for being alone most of the time and wondering why everyone else seems to be doing extravagant things. I enjoy my own company but I wonder if sometimes I should seek out people more. I wonder if I should be doing more- but, we should do what makes us happy. Love these vlogs!
Your epiphany helped me have my epiphany: it’s diff not having the choice to do things alone; that’s what makes it feel lonely. I am there with you. Learning about myself and the world. ✌🏼🧜🏼♀️
I know nothing about baking bread but I assume the reason her attempts haven't been as successful is that her measurements have been eyeballing rather than precise
Thank you Halle! Your videos always help me remember that I can be still, and humble, and I don't have to constantly be doing extravagant things for my life to have meaning. There is a million places to be all the time but we often take for granted where we are right now. Thank you!
learn to love your alone time. solitude can be enjoyable and not something to be embarrassed or feel bad about . just do what you want to do and have fun. i basically went through the same thing as you; all my highschool friends moved away for uni or we all just went our separate ways. since graduating from uni, i got so much alone time now and had to find things to entertain myself. my favorite is driving/nature drives. i am blessed that i live near handful of national parks/forests here in cali. plently of options for me and i absolutely love it. i also do the typical: games, anime, manga, tv shows, movies.. the whole jazz .
thank you so so much. you dont understand how much you help me and the "being alone not really by choice" bit was so relatable. i needed it. thank you for this episode. i hope the rest of your summer treats you well.
I wish I could like this video an infinite amount of times. When you talked about being alone and it not being a choice anymore, I felt that deeply. When I don't travel, and that has been the case for so long now with the whole pandemic situation, my summers tend to get very lonely, since I never hang out with anyone, or at least never feel like I'm welcome to do so. Hearing you say that those summers will come, I felt very hopeful and full of optimism; so thanks a lot for that. Love ya x
Hey Halle, your vlogs are super different from others (and that's a good thing!). It feels like I'm watching a movie in the 90s like you're so beautiful. And yes it's okay to take time to yourself and explore new things. I loved how you're doing these wholesome activities and you inspired me to take out some time to do the things I like. Also, I hope that the last sourdough turned out nice!
Seeing, hearing your cat in this video really tears me up. My cat passed away recently and it was a beautiful white cat with grey marks. Hope you a long wonderful life with your cat.
Baking is a different process. It’s really an exact process with exact measurements. You never measure when you cook or bake and that’s what’s happening to your baked goods.
favorite books I read that remind me that being alone as an early 20s lady is totally okay and FUN, 1) Circe by Madeline Miller 2) Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens 3) Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal 4) The No. 1 Ladies Detetive Agency by Alexander McCall Smith!
i appreciate your love for alone time and your take on being in your early twenties and enjoying it so thoroughly. I'll be 21 soon and I need to remember this so thank u halle you are a true gem
I totally understand the feeling of feeling guilty for wanting to be alone. I’ve always enjoyed my own company more than being around others. I think that guilty feeling comes from society making people feel like they have to be social or they’re weird. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying being alone. I think everyone should be comfortable being alone with themselves, at least some of the time
I believe social media tends to highlight the "cool" events in people's lives and not the mundane, everyday things. Another poster quoted Oscar Wilde, and I think that's an appropriate quote. As I get older I sense that the mundane everyday things make us alive - which makes any "cool" event more special.
everything u said is so so relatable, coming from another 20s girl spending the summer mostly alone... thank u for sharing these videos halle they are like a breath of fresh air and sunlight and a slight breeze all in one. wishing u the bestest

It’s very hard too make a souer doughe with white flouer, it’s easyer with whole wheat. I always use a little bit of yeast in my souerdough bread, only 3-5 grams. It’s like extra fule to the souerdogh.
I think embracing your introverted side is extremely important. It's a lot of how I learned how to love myself. Because if you can't appreciate your own company, it's going to be a long and painful life. So enjoy your alone time! I love living alone. PS. I love how vocal your cat is lol
You should make panzanella with your leftover bread scraps, or ribolitta! Maltese pudina or bread and butter pudding is good toooo (you can add your own spin on the puddding, i just use whatever nuts i have, chocolate, sometimes coconut or ground almonds, cocoa powder, chocolate or cinnamon etc)
I really enjoy your videos and I needed to hear that about being your own roommate and alone time sometimes it takes someone else to say something before you have an aha moment thank you so much and I knew you had it in you and your bread came out perfect at least it appeared so the last batch kudos to you the lamp shade well still looks like it needs a little tweaking but I'm sure it'll be just fine have a great day
