    Always really liked the Tiger Barbs for their striking colors and lively behavior and size. Almost decided on just a TB tank, but went for a community tank instead. Really like your Tiger school!

      I love my little school of tiger barbs! I used to keep community tanks as well, but I breed a lot, so it's easier with just one species at a time. I do miss my community tanks though. 🤗

      My favourite tank was a large tank of tigerbarbs, a red tail black shark, torpedo barbs, bristle nose plecos.

    They are simply stunning when they're flaring their fins

      Ahh the good old days. We always took our beefs to the parking lot after school.

      @ I recall the lip-locking too, always a fight for dominance!

    Always cool to see an evenly matched duo spar - and that goes for any fish species!

    My GloSkirt Tetras do the same thing. All 14 of them are evenly spaced out in a 55 long - each “owning” their own little territory in the tank. They scarily behave like piranha, especially during feeding time or when hunting down sick or elderly guppies. I get one hour of blue moonlight at night and they are wild to see glowing in there.

      You tank sounds like a lot of fun to watch. Fish are so cool! 🐠🦈🐟

    Bitey, nippy little beasts. Watching your barbs in action is mesmerizing experience.
    What is the reason of quarrel? Peace of food, entering the territory, love affairs?

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They are over territory for breeding.

      Oh, this is the case. They are so excited, fights occur everyday. You don't see everything, they clarify their fishy rights to each other 🐠

    That is fun. I hope only pride was bruised. It looked like ther was a few hooks that landed to the sides of an opponent. As always, beautiful filming and lovely story telling. Thank you again. 😊

    Angelfish also quarrel all the time. Fighting fish have no teeth, but they kill each other. My angelfish killed the fighters and ate them. It was my bad experience when I kept them together in a very large aquarium.

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Angelfish and bettas can be very aggressive. Once angelfish reach sexual maturity, they become like little devils instead of angels. ❤

    I must say, you have quite a nice group of very healthy looking and nicely colored up tiger barbs. Thanks for getting this footage. In order to keep them healthy, how often do you feed yours? do you stick mostly to veggie (low protein) foods?

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for watching the video. I feed them twice per day with Hikari carnivore pellets, and once a week they get nothing.

    Are they very easy to breed ? What conditions do they need to breed ?

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I wouldn't say that they're easy to breed, but I didn't find it difficult. Watch this video for more details. th-cam.com/video/Fb0UC5Po-aA/w-d-xo.html

    im surprised that they lip lock at all, ive never known another species of barb that does this. Black ruby barbs will spin around each other and both them and cherry barbs will flare at and chase each other, but ive never seen lip locking. Thats just the barbs ive kept though. Wonder if the lip locking is connected with the nastier temperament of tiger barbs as compared to the other two i mentioned.

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Maybe it's connected, but it's hard to say. Cichlids lip-lock a lot, but you're right it's less common in barbs.

    What size is the tank and what temp do you keep them at?

    • @TheDave333

      It's a 29 gallon tank, and the temp. is somewhere around 78 degrees.
