You hearted your own comment. At least I don't have post the correction for you. Edit: Yes I do, I read your comment wrong. You made the same mistake at 5:02 and 5:12.
As soon as I saw it was the post-NTSC proto I nearly yipped with excitement, this is that mysterious build that was being discussed before! I can't believe you found it!
Amazing that this build of the game was on Megaupload since 2007, and no one at the time knew about it other than a few youtubers. Glad it's finally preserved!
Excellent vid! You've been killing it with these protos lately :D I wonder if the problems with the fly-in for Terrace Village and Haunted Towers are to do with the slight changes in Spyro's speed/jump in the PAL release due to it running 25FPS, and those ledges not being accomodated for yet at this stage in the build's development with those changes.
He wasn't unwilling to dump the game (and actually, he only had the ISO himself, to be precise). To clarify, he just had a misconception about the situation and handled that a certain way, back then. Every hand in the picture had a play in this.
For Gnasty Gnorc's appearence, I have 2 theories. 1 is the obvious one most people probably have, this was just the original concept for Gnasty Gnorc where he was meant to look truly nasty and villainous, which may had been modified to fit the lighthearted tone of the game.(this could be supported by all the teal/green colors, how Gnasty uses green Crystal Spells) 2 is the model for Gnasty wasnt originally for him, and this was just supposed to be an enemy in the final parts of the game, but because it was so similar to Gnasty's shape, they re-textured it to make it more like the design of his concept art at the time.
I think they're both far too speculative to be worth considering, to be honest. All we know is that at one point Gnasty looked like this, we have no idea what the reason for the change was nor is there any reason to believe this was originally a different enemy and we don't know why he's in this prototype at all considering it's a later build than NTSC-U final
I always wondered why they didn't keep the additional skins for the dragons and instead had multiple dragons with the same skin. White Cleetus also was something that confused me when I found him as a kid.
I'm currently stuck on 72% game completion at the balloonist in Beast Makers Homeworld. I have all 58 dragons and all 8,000 gems rescued so far but he never prompted me a "Thank you for rescuing 50 dragons" like he does in the retail version. It gives me the option to hop to previous home worlds but not Dream Weavers onward. I don't expect much from a long lost beta which possibly was ripped from a damage disc but I was just curious if you or anyone else is having this issue. And if Cheat Engine is the only way to reach Dream Weavers and Gnasty's World or not? Thank you again.
I remember having an issue of a gaming magazine that featured the Beta model of Gnasty Gnorc for the strategy guide. I wondered what was up with him. Would be interesting to see it again as a skin of some kind in CTR Nitro Fuelled.
5:12 oops, that's supposed to say August 27th!

Erdrick The Hero oops
AH yes. The glorious date of the 27rd.
Oops, that's what I get for accidentally writing 23rd the first time
Hwd405 Hehe, it happens (:
6:25 "Totale Tresori" is also changed in the italian version, because the word is spelled wrong here too. In the final version is "Totale Tesori"
Non l'avevo notato. 🤣

6:48: Looks like bloopers for the game
6:48-6:55Alright, new world here I come. (Hits water) No I forgot, I can’t swim
*NOOOOOooooo!!!* gurglegurglegurgle

Everyone wanted LXShadows prototype and now we have 1 prototype which is newer and 1 older than LXShadows prototype all thanks to you 👍
2 newer actually!
Thank you so much for all these prototypes!
wow this is like a time capsule of "what could have been" well done!
Woohoo! I’m so happy you found it!
2:32 I never thought to do that.... I usually chase him using the charge jump. Glad I can use a new trick.
1:53 Since I'm Italian this literally made me scream lol
Pensavo di essere l'unica AHAHHA
oh nice, you managed to get ahold of it despite the first guy's unwillingness to dump it lol
That said I'm very interested in that early french script

@@iniche what did he not understand ?
6:48 Me trying to get out of bed early in the morning
3:13 - Is the NTSC-U really using a pale cleetus here? In the PAL version Cleetus is still using the darker green version from the prototype.
I think you've got them mixed up, dark green wasn't in the prototypes

I think me might get a even NTSC earlier build at this rate
I always wondered why they didn't keep the additional skins for the dragons and instead had multiple dragons with the same skin. White Cleetus also was something that confused me when I found him as a kid.
In the final PAL version, Cleetus looks the same as he does in this prototype

1:47 have any links to specific reviews where those portal names appear?
I believe the Italian PlayStation Magazine referred to Blowhard by that name in a guide for the game but I may be mistaken
Cool video.
August 27th is my aunt's birthday 🙂

Where the jpan spyro?
Nice!
Bet spyro likes topology
I'm pretty sure Spyro discovered a way of proving the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra using Algebraic Topology tbh
