@@Tornado_Dave the round boring machine is easy. The extraction of soil is the first problem. The wearing-out head is the second. Shuttering is easy though, just get a long flat steel sheet half-coiled, shove it in, it uncoils, boom done. Tack a nail or two, can't coil to collapse ever.
You are bloody amazing Dave, I have been concreting for 15 years. So my opinion is backed up by a lot of industry experience. Nice work for a complete amateur. 🍻
Great video, thanks for taking us on the journey. The project itself is massive to, recorde it all on top while doing it is very hard, it's much appreciated. 👍
Nice bit of Concrete work Dave, it's looking great. Good luck with the tunnel corrections. I worked with a mate many years ago out in Kent building a wet well for farm field tile to drain into and then the water could be collected and then it could be sump pumped to a higher elevation. That build is well strong. Thanks Dave....
Lol my daughter aurora was telling me about this I never believed her and I come across your videos . Brilliant work keep it up mate . I bet it going to look amazing once done
I started watching your tunnel/bunker vedios arfter you helped Colin Furze with his secret garage project and I glad I did i have enjoyed watching every single tunnel vedio.
I've been a senior electrician's apprentice for 50 years, man and boy. You need to change the yellow wire in the plug to a green one. Otherwise your house will burn down.
Good morning, Dave, great to see a new video. I hate to bang on about my claustrophobia, but I might be getting better, just from watching the channel. The solar is five stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, with it running the sump and being for back up. I am in the process of adding a similar power unit to my place. Anyway, enough about my rubbish, thanks for another brilliant episode. And I have shared. Cheers
Brilliant work Dave, love what you are doing. On your permanent standby power solution (once you sort the suicide wiring) - be careful with mixing a floating earth (from your battery pack) with multiple outlets. Victron has a good info sheet on that.
Brilliant there's always parts of these videos I can relate with. I used to have a set of 3 point linkage pallet forks. One day I moved 50 pallets of bricks, front wheels off the ground 😂
I thought I was going to drop all those supports, such a big job getting all that shuttering back out, the pallets with bricks on are 1.5 tonnes so am struggling to get the. In the hole 😀
More great progress, Dave. Thanks for the upload. Watching you lift and swing those stillages around so close to the house made me sweaty. I was starting to think the next video series was going to be a home restoration project. 😂
You should see if that Barry bank/ups has a battery setting to stop charging at 80% and start charging at say 40 to60 ish%. If you keep it at a 100% the battery will be toast within a year. This may still be in warranty, but you'll only find out it's toast when you need it. In that moment the warranty won't power your devices. There will likely be a menu called power management. Or a setting that says ups, this will put least stain on the batteries in in it.
EPIC as always Dave THANKS so much for sharing with us all. Still look forward every week to the next video!! Is it next week yet? Be safe, have fun and most of all KEEP TUNNELLING
That jumper cable to the battery bank (often called a "stinger") wouldn't be so bad if you plugged it into the dead mains first and THEN into the battery so you aren't waving the dangerous hot end around 😲 Be careful! Loving the idea of a nice private living room lol
@@Tornado_Davethat made me subscribe. I like the projects even if you built a suicide-cable. Because I’ve thought of building the same cable for the same exact reason. 😂
Depending on your region your land sure looks like an ancient river bed, theres a good chance you could have some serious gold on your property. I'm a Geologist in Arizona, we see a lot of similar Geology here.
Paint seal the outside of the concrete, right? Then wrap the outside. Plus you have to have Two meters of rock or concrete is enough on top so gama radiation does not get through.
10:22 LOL😂😂😂😂 You are ok drinking from the foot of water left in your well after that little bugger toad and all his mates have jizzed in the water 😃😃😃😃 Top Man!!! Lol 😂😂😂 Good skills Dave nowt wrong with a few bugs to make you strong. 😂
Move your battery into the bunker. Charging Lithium batteries in sub zero temperatures which we'll inevitably get here in the UK is very bad for their lifespan, it might even refuse to charge if it's designed properly. Also please eventually change that double ended plug, they're called suicide plugs for a reason - I'm not gonna bash you for a quick temporary solution but I would absolutely make sure that's dealt with as a priority. Some manufacturers of those battery banks also offer a changeover panel thing that integrates with your home wiring to safely facilitate the connection of the battery system, so it might be worth seeing if yours has this, or keeping that as just power for tools when you're too far from the house and get a system like the one by Anker or EcoFlow.
That feed in lead is going to kill someone. If not someone picks it up then a utility worker if the network is isolated and it feeds back through your mains, please look up changeover switches and feed in sockets. Former utility worker and electrician. Had to deal with this sort of stuff when we have natural disasters here and the power goes off and someone hooks up dodgy leads.
240v live exposed plug pin is asking for trouble. Please just get a proprietary manual rotary switch that allows safe mains/ups switching. You didn’t need to make that lethal cable, because you know it will work anyway with the correct switch.
I was just demonstrating the backup battery not installing it, to install properly I would need to re wire the circuit board and didn’t have time for that 😀
The main bunker your building should be like the big entrance building of all the tunnels and build a tunnel coming from every wall and they all meet back at the big entrance.
The journey to 100k subs is rapidly approaching! Faster than your tunnel mine cart setup :P Did you mean you are going to dig out a bigger round tunnel over the existing one?? I wonder how that'll work! It'd probably make things a bit more roomy down there, which could be nice
I once did that with a power supply from the house to a shed. Had a shock, literally, as the pins were obviously live. I should have used a female variant,
Great stuff Dave i Was wondering if u were going too water proof it. Not many TH-cam underground bunkers have it done. Must be costing a Bomb but u doing it right waste of time and money if u don't
A request from the yanks, if you could slow down just a bit especially when you are spelling out the specifications, like the waterproofing, it would be appreciated!
If it is constantly heating the water which only actually takes 2 minutes to actually boil then the kettle turns off. The unit can run 2kw for 2 hours. So if you had a 2kw heater it would only be 2 hours yes
Crazy, difficult, if not even impossible project, But what if.... An underground pool. Or, "better", an underground oasis, right at the water level at the bottom of the well, so it's got an entire ecosystem.
I started watching from Colin when he came up through the grass I've gone through and watched from the start keep up the good work

Great project, is there a reason why you didn’t build it using concrete block ?
It was about the loads the walls have to take from ground pressure and apparently anything over 2 metres deep exceeds the rating on the blocks
I thought you kept a hole in the middle to dig a shaft downward ;)
You should have painted the concrete with tar paint to stop the damp
A request from the yanks, if you could slow down just a bit especially when you are spelling out the specifications, like the waterproofing, it would be appreciated!
I will try 😂
Why no water proofing/ tar on the outside of the concrete walls, and the foting?
The waterproofing is in the next episode, it will make more sense soon 😀
Extension lead has to be completely unraveled otherwise you will get an overheated cable & power cut 😂😂😂 school boy stuff
Not for my short demonstration video but for normal practices yes
Is that correct? An electric kettle will drain your 2kWh power station in less than 1 hour?
If it is constantly heating the water which only actually takes 2 minutes to actually boil then the kettle turns off. The unit can run 2kw for 2 hours. So if you had a 2kw heater it would only be 2 hours yes
I think you should do it tram style
This maybe a daft question, apologies if so. Could your well get high enough to flood your tunnel and bunker?

Sorry if I've missed this... but why wasn't the middle of the floor concreted originally?
The base is just the wall foundations, not a floor if that makes sense
