Of course, many famous ancient Chinese classical novels, used a lot of old words and phrases uncommon in modern China, also including poems and colorful emotional sentences. Not only these, the background of the story--Qing Dynasty, has a variety of rules shown in the large family. Complicated relationship really needs everyone to spend some time to understand. Personally, it's a bit boring to me and I can't finish reading it.

Also c/drama Marvelous Women (2021) may have been somewhat inspired by parts of the classical novel. A film titled Hong Leu Meng aka The Dream of the Red Chamber was made in 1962 (with actress Margaret Tu ChuAn). The Shaw brothers made a film in 1977, WiKi mentions a filmseries A Dream of Red Mansions, 6 eps (1988/1989) directed by Xie Tieli & Zhao Yuan. Apparently a new film titled A Dream of Red Mansions was, or will be released this year (2023), dir. Mei Hu. Elsewhere on YT an animated film or series can be found (directed by Weng Du).
