I really don’t think the 2nd trade makes much sense for San Antonio. Devonte is only partially guaranteed for $2.85M, if they waive him the team would still have about $30M in cap space to work with.

I do think giving up a couple 2s to fully clear Graham’s salary does make sense.. but now that Monk is officially off the board, SAS might just elect to keep Graham’s contract as an expiring to either trade this year or allow to fully clear off the books at the end of next season
Very true, except I'm not sure how you came up with $30 million in cap space. You gotta factor in the #4 and #8 picks, so even if the Spurs were to waive Graham, Champagnie, and Bassey, they would still have around $118.5 million in guaranteed salary, so closer to $22 million in space.
@@brandonmeiners3084 Well this was before I added 4 & 8. So you are right if they waive Graham, Champagnie & Bassey while also adding those two picks then that gets you to approximately $22.6M or basically $23M in actual cap space to spend.

The Spurs Devonte Graham trade doesn't make much sense. Spurs have a team option for Graham this year. Graham only has 2,850,000 guaranteed. So the Spurs could just wave him after July 1st. Or they could take that option so he can be used to match salary in a real trade. I guess it's possible they would trade some 2nds to save 2.8 million but doesn't seem likely.

Really like this for Memphis. They would save money to get another player in a different deal.
I am a Dallas Maverick fan. Here is what I think Dallas should do:
1. On draft night, Dallas trades their 56th pick and a future 2nd round pick to Boston for the 30th pick. With that pick, Dallas selects Bronny James.
2. Resign Derrick Jones Jr. to a fair contract including a sizable raise.
3. On the first day of free agency, Dallas signs Miles Bridges using the Mid-Level exemption for about $12 million dollars per year.
3. Later that week, Dallas signs/forces a sign and trade with the LA Lakers to acquire LaBron James by giving up Dallas' first round picks in 2025 and 2031, Tim Hardaway, Dante Exum, Derrick Jones Jr., and (maybe) if forced Olivier-Maxence Prosper. The Lakers will finally face reality and begin their long over due rebuild. LaBron and his son will get an NBA championship together.
4. The Mavericks join Slovkia Olympic Team for a joint "voluntary" training camp during the summer where both teams improve each other's games especially Hardy and Bonny.
5. We start mapping out the victory parade route for the 2025 NBA championship.

Charlotte is rumored to want to trade up to 3 as well. Maybe they swap Bridges for Harrison Barnes and the 13th pick, and use 6th and 13th for 3. Sacramento was in on Siakam and Bridges kind of fits that mold of a forward that can score better than Barnes.

I can see my Celtics trade down once again, especially if they can't reach one between Holmes, Filipowski etc...and I can see Indiana trying to go for a first rounder, but 36 and 50 are not enough to me: you can add 51 too or maybe just 36 + a future unprotected 2nd.
Maybe it works better with Portland, 34 and 40, but they already got 2 firsts this year, IDK
P.S 36 can be a good range to take someone like Adem Bona or Oso Ighodaro...who's the best for you?

I think Reed Sheppard and Donovan Clingan will be on the board for the Rockets at #3. If Houston picks Reed that means they could not find a trade they liked for Clingan. I'm sure Ime Udoka wants to add a veteran and a lower pick for #3. Smart and Brogdon are both former Celtics and played for Udoka and Portland, Memphis and Charlotte are reported to be in the market for that pick. I don't know what Charlotte could offer but a future first rounder.
Who could you see the pacers draft if they were to move up?
Pacome Dadiet could be good, Adem Bona, Jaylen Wells. Hard to project exactly who but it really comes down to if they specifically wanted one guy

Josh Giddey is a great pick up, says absolutely nobody whose played basketball at a high level (College or pro). Josh Giddey is a end of the bench role player at best. This was a horrible move by the Bulls front office. OKC is the clear winner in this trade.
I feel like Spurs will trade #4 pick for Risacher, he has been their top guy for awhile, and starts at the 3 from day one. Champagnie off the pine is NICE.
I would also take Salaun 4th and Carter 8th no problem, if there is no ZR trade.
My top picks for spurs are
1. Sarr
2. Shepherd
3. Clingan
4. Castle
5. ZR
6. Salaune
If they can get 2 of those guys I'd be so happy

That Bobby Portis trade is disgusting… A 6MOTY candidate for a 9th and 10th guy in a rotation…
Another way to look at it is: “being terrible at defense again this upcoming season” or “partially fixing your biggest flaw by trading your 3rd best front court player”
