I've actually thought that! Your first point you made.... I'm a Triplet.. and my sister and I sound exactly the same.... also over early adult years, I recognized that I'd have a soft or timid way of speaking..because our mother spoke that way. Lol. Your channel is great! I've def tried to adjust my voice within my life..and your videos are super fantastic! Love your energy thanks so much for all you do!
@@vocabilities hi thanks for replying! Very cool!! I suppose want to learn how to infuse more enthusiasm and expressiveness into my voice, making it bit more compelling. And enhance my enunciation and overall vocal presence. I liked a statement you made in one of your vids, about think less about how your speaking and more about your audience, and to imagine speaking to a child, with that enthusiastic nature. That really resonated with me!! When I focus on how I'm speaking, generally become more self-conscious instead of getting excited and truly enjoying it as a way of fun or play! thanks again!!
Your videos have been extremely helpful as I learn to reshape my voice. I’ve worked in corporate for 7 years, now, and picked up somewhat of a corporate, valley girl accent (since this is how those I work with speak). My voice never sounds relaxed or authentic, but fake and unnaturally peppy (even when I don’t feel that way) and it frustrates me, because I’m a naturally relaxed, calm person, but my voice rarely gives that off…especially at work. Can you make a video focusing on how to maintain your natural voice, in different environments…or some version of this? The more I focus on re-developing my natural voice, the more I realize how difficult it is not to copy the way others around me speak. Thanks for making these videos, by the way.
Dear Sir.... I cannot thank you enough for your tips and tricks 🎉 I love the art of speaking well and I am going to employ your plan of attack to attain my goals... Thanks again
Congrats on the marathon! Whew! - I work out a lot so have some tension (former dancer, too); I don't practice enough relaxation then get frustrated when my voice sounds hoarse and raspy. In terms of casting (as an actor) my look (type) does not quite fit my higher, softer voice. Folks often ask me to lower my voice, but I'm basically 2nd Tenor, so it's not possible and I get frustrated between owning myself and my voice, and the expectations or requests from others based on how I look to sound differently. So, there's a gap between the two: look/type vs. actual vocal range. I have a whispery film voice, which is lower, but it's not truly authentic or appropriate for some material. Any thoughts on bridging the gap between my natural voice and what casting directors/directors prefer based on my type?
For a long time I've mostly focused on wording. Compacting my manner of speech, to give as much and as unchanging a tone as possible. Now that my wording is at a very advanced level, I'm focusing more on creating a tone. And there's a lot more possibilities for things to integrate, some other ones I'm aware of is critical and questioning tones. In general, it is about saying as much through tone, with as few words and consistently. There's also a bit of a hidden aspect of speech. Try to pay attention to it and you get why the same fact, in different contexts can be used to provoke completely different of call to action. Just as you want to be understood, you don't want to reveal what you don't wish to share. So, a bit of cleverness goes a long way. Bosses have open ears, and closed mouths, I think I heard in a rap once. You got the right idea with this video! As natural as you can, after all your voice is meant to speak your mind so there's no reason not to be as natural as you can. Relaxation definitely helps, so can loudness, especially at lower pitch. The more constricted your vocal folds, the more air you need to push through to not sound goofy. I also find word replacement to be good to do as routine. Whenever I, in my inner monologe, find myself wanting to use a word, which isn't as close as I can get to the thought or emotion I'm wanting to convey, I think it through until I find a word that is. I'm also trying to use a bit of death metal vocal techniques, to speak from the vocal fry register, as a way of getting access to my really low register. So yeah. Keep the videos coming, bro!
While I know it isn't your main area of focus, I'm interested in learning how to better portray feminine qualities in my voice for the purpose of voicing female characters for my personal projects while making it still sound natural.
Is it crazy to talk about raising the pitch of your voice? I have a deep voice. Plus I mumble a lot and have more of a lisp than I thought. Ha. I forgot what it’s called but it’s the “sh” “ch” “j” sounds that mess with me the most. I’ve started reading out loud lately. It’s interesting to see how many words I can’t say.
Please not the AI thumbnail. I love your work but AI generated art is a disaster for visual artists (and artists of all kinds). Again, really love following your work.
But I’m the artist who does my thumbnails. So no one got hurt! Just saved myself some time. I’m an artist also but no AI can do what I do. It’s a tool and this was a better use of my time and resources.
@@vocabilities AI generators steals art from *real* visual artists on the Internet to function (and I'm not even talking about the ecological disaster that it represents). @@vocabilities the thing is that all generative image tools were made by stealing our work. I'm sure you can find beginning artists who would be glad to work out a deal with you for making your thumbnails
@@AmedyrI’m sure a beginner artist could find his channel and offer a deal for doing his thumbnails- it goes both ways. To criticize one side in this conversation is like telling someone to only buy their apples from the local farmers market, despite them not having time in their schedule to go.

That a legit question. Now all we need is to define precisely what that means and I’ll look into it!
