We're working on some of our BIGGEST videos ever on Wout van Aert, MvDP & Geraint Thomas so in the meanwhile we'll release a few pieces like this. Let us know your thoughts!
You are not getting it. Sorry to say. You make a video why Jonas wins. And after 2 strong stages from Pogacar you make another why He will win. So your analysis is a pure crap. Sorry to say. Seems like you make videos based on the wind rather than proper analysis.
@@bodhisatwaghosh You hit the nail on the head. This channel is just another dickriding channel, whoever wins on the day is the greatest. There's no deep analysis, it's more catering to the fanbase of every rider and so he pushes a video on everyone. Add a little shit stirring and put the biggest names on the vid title, voila easy views.
When the whole team works for you in the spring classics, you sometimes have to pay the team back, even if your name is Wout van Aert. Look at MvdP totally riding for Philipsen this TdF instead of for his own chances. Kwiatkowski could have won 10 TdF stages if he hadn't be a domestique for Froome/Thomas all these years. Don't forget WvA already won 9 stages in the Tour de France, one of them a TT last year that was literally gifted to him by Vingegaard. Plus the Green Jersey. You can't expect him to win 3 stages every Tour.
@@MrDado937 In reality, that is what WvA is in the Tour de France: a domestique. A very luxury one that is. Thing with him and MvdP is that the fans in Belgium and Netherlands want THEM to win stages, not effacing themselves by working for a 'boring' Dane or sprinter. However, I think for both of them it's far less of an issue than for the fans and they're very happy at Jumbo and Alpecin respectively. A multi million salary also does help a lot.
Personally i think WvA is at the best team for him to get what he wants, he has never stated that he wants to be a GC rider in big tours, he does however want to win the classics and wants to become WC next month. Also Jonas and van Aert seem to be cool with eachother from every screen footage you see. Jonas even went to van Aert today at his house in Belgium to personally congratulate him with the birth of his son. Looking at all the teams and how they are set up for next year and coming years i dont know which team he could join that already has a leader and has a great organization that can put him in the position for GC. Mentioning he only has one leadout is the issue? One lead out is all you need 🤨 I conclude this video is mostly clickbait and speculation based on no evidence or proof (the netflix docu isnt proof)
We're sad to hear you think this video is clickbait, it's objective fan based analysis looking at the available proof from both racing and articles on hand. We understand it's a controversial subject but we don't want to alienate fans. It's an opinion piece and hopefully will be treated as such. Wout can stay at Jumbo and be successful and he can leave Jumbo and be successful, either way he's good.
@@TrueSportsLore what proof are you referring to? Because i have seen none in your video. Not even a year ago he extended his contract till 2026 so why would he change his mind now, he has also recognized that the competition has become harder the last 2 years so ofc hes not gonna run away with as many wins as he has. Also saying that he has a history with breaking contracts after he broke one contract is a bit much, having history mostly referred to doing something multiple times. That he would leave the tour if his wife went into labour is a no brainer and something they have known for months, the rest of the teams just didnt 😂, i have never seen an atlete that missed the birth of their kid because they choose the sport over their private life. I dont want to call your videos clickbait, i like your videos and ive been checking them out the last 3 weeks (sorry haven’t subscribed 😮) but when it feel its clickbait i will call it clickbait.
I completely agree with your assessment. There is an awful lot of speculation in this video. Let's look at a few facts. Wout Van Aert is the highest paid rider on the Jumbo Visma team. One of the reasons many cyclists want to rider for Jumbo Visma is the quality of their equipment and their use of technology. Also it would be difficult to find a team that has the quality of management that Jumbo Visma has. I do not see how going to Soudal Quik Step would be a step up. Plus Soudal Quik Step has a major investment in Remco Evenepoel.
@@gulfgal98 yes, not mention it can be argued that Remco is a better rider than Wout meaning there is no way Wout would ever have sole leadership in a Grand Tour that Remco rides. Quickstep would also not let Wout to a Grand Tour without Remco as it would be a waste to not have them together. All teams want to win the classification more than anything and Wout has proven he can help more than anyone except maybe Sepp Kuss in winning a GC at a Grand Tour.
Wout and Jonas are good friends. The reason he didn’t drop off the front is because Jonas had 6 other riders to help him, and they said to Wout to go for the stage win. It’s just the media trying to stir up drama.
This video makes the assumption that the only races that count are the 21 TDF stages each year. In 22 Wout did far better at the tour last year. I think Wout and Jumbo knew Wout was going to leave for his son this year so Wout concentrated on helping Jonas win as Wout was not going to finish in Paris. Next year will be a different story.
@@TrueSportsLore It’s a shame so much focus is placed on just one tour when there are 3 of them and may classics racing. Wout is better suited for the classics anyway.
@@TrueSportsLore For many Europeans, the classics count an awful lot. If only the grand tours were important, why would Wout spend so much time racing cyclo-cross? Wout will never be a GC guy in a grand tour without having to sacrifice cyclo-cross and the classics. Jumbo Visma has built a great classics team. To be a GC guy Wout would have to remake his body and I believe he has nixed that idea in the past.
@@gulfgal98 The thing is that he's not only not winning TDF stages, he's also not winning the classics he most wants as well. I think there's definetily an argument to be made that there are other teams that would suit him better. In my opinion, Soudal Quickstep is by far the best option for him. Having said this, I think Jumbo is also a really god team for him, and I don't agree that he would be better off at a lesser team where he would be the leader. But Soudal Quickstep... I think that would be the perfect team for him
@@paulsolon6229WVA deserve what he has, and believe me he isn't that good! I don't understand the hype around him - he hasn't winning nothing big, always come second, on the other hand Remco Evenepoel is the big deal. He is 23y.o and his achievements are bigger than WVA's.
If Wout became a GT rider, he would lose everything that makes him special as a rider. He would go from being the only guy that is good at everything to only being very good at climbs, and we don't even know if he would be the best climber, because there are monsters like Vingegaard and Pogacar out there.
Look at the picture of Vingegaard and Wout together in this video.... Wout is like twoce the size. There is a reason why Vingegaard is far better in the mountains, and this is impossible to do anything about. Wout will never win TdF and he knows that.
@@alexanderishere1857 That's what i said. He would have to lose a lot of weight and become a pure climber, and he still would not be able to compete against Vingegaard and Pogacar, so it's totally not worth it.
Exactly! Wout would have to remake his body by losing a ton of weight and there would be no guarantee he would be able to outclimb a natural climber like Vingegaard. Also by losing the weight, Wout would no longer be competitive in cyclo-cross and the classics, both of which he is perfectly suited to.
Quickstep was really bad this springseason. His support at jumbo is much better. At the tour he will have the same problem as now, because evenepoel will be the leader he has to support.
He’s in the top 10 paid cyclist making over 2-3 million a year. Why would he leave. He stated “I don’t need to convince you that I was more interested, but I have never personally interacted with any other team. It has always been my goal to extend my contract here. It was best for me to stay. I am glad that it has been completed and I am relieved to be able to speak my mind.” The media made up the tension between him and the rest of the guys on the team.
He reminds of Geraint Thomas, if you compare the Cyclocross and Track backgrounds. Once G lost some of the track fat he was flying up hill, if Wout wanted to (big if) he could do the same.
@@TrueSportsLore Not a chance. Look at the picture of Wout and Vingegaard together. Jonas is naturally so much lighter, and even if Wout starved himself even more, he would still be much heavier. There is nothing he can do to be good enough in the mountains.
only rider in history as tall as WvA to win the TdF yellow jersey was Bradley Wiggins (exactly 1.90 m, just as WvA), followed by Schleck, Indurain and Froome (1.86); quite unlikely WvA could ever aim to contest as a GC rider, specially during the Vingegaard-Pogacar era.
@@brunoaramburu740 I really think extreme supplementary measures are needed for someone big like Wiggins, Indurain etc to win TdF. So I don't see Wout coming anywhere near to win TdF or any of the other tours
For 6M WVA isn’t leaving I don’t think he has any issues with Jonas as evidence with him visiting them in the hospital after the tour and blessing his newest child with a yellow jersey. Nothings wrong with their relationship trust me
Dude made really a whole video about a Netflix documentary. WvA stated multiple times that they portrayed him in a very wrong way. Always this half-baked, misinformed videos, too bad the knowledge of the channel is questionable.
Netflix documentaries are made to stir the pot, they dramatized happenings in the TDF documentary as they do with any documentary they make. I would take things like that with a grain of salt. For instance they show Wout getting told to stop pursuing his own goals, but don’t show any of Jonas and Wout exchanges after Wout helps Jonas. They definitely have footage from both.
No need to be so rude. It’s an analysis, not a gossip. Though arguably the title is a bit clickbaity. Maybe you can just say why the analysis in the video is flawed instead..
Saying wout can easily win every sprint is a joke, and talking about him not having a team backing him, look at the classics, he had all the help he could get but couldn't win a single monument, Aldo saying that he will move to quick step and quoting some one that says he will help remco at the tour while claiming he wants to be the sole leader is the stupidest and funniest claims I heard revolving around cycling
Van aert in a quick step focus on classics he would win most of spring classics and so many stages . The problem of jumbo is a very good team but gc oriented, that cripples van aert objectives
Interesting vid. But why would WVA go to QS to ride for Evenepoel? Makes no sense. And besides that, he gets plenty of opportunities to go for his own succes at JV, just like last years TDF. In one day races, like RVV, Paris-Roubaix etc etc he gets a whole team that rides for him.
No way Wout rides with Remco. I think Jumbo (probably NEOM in the future) bring in an elite lead out rider to bring him to the line at TDF sprint stages. He should target the world road race championship every year.
what about sepp kuss that man could probably win one of the other grand tours with a team around him. racing the giro and the tour like he did is mental.
Kuss himself says that he's not sure of how good of a leader he would be. He says that he needs some "rest" days in the GT and that he's not the best at handeling the pressure of being a leader and having to perform every day. Though I'd like to see him try at some point. He at least deserves to be captain in 1 week races.
@@josepsantcristofol295 I believe he said after the tour that he would like to try and be the leader for once. But not as the vocal point of the team neccesarily, he mentioned he would like to go to a grand tour with Olav Kooi and a sprint lead out so that he could just sit back and do his thing silently.
@@stijncdevos I think Roglic is leaving at some point, which could open the way for a sprinting setup in the Giro with Kuss riding for himself. Jonas can't do 3 grand tours at the same time and while there are some very exciting GT talents out there, they are either already on expensive contracts or they are very raw. Either way Kuss could win a GT himself simply because of his climbing skills. He would have to get a bit lucky though as he has off days and not exactly a WC TT if it is flat.
this is very interesting, and yes, it's true, he might have had more success in this Tour if he had been in another team. However, the counterargument is 2022. Same situation, and Wout won everything he could. Finally, the question of where he would go. It's very flawed logic to suggest he'd join Quickstep. That team is being build around Remco for GC, so it would be the exact situation as with Jumbo. Same thing goes for Ineos and other teams going for GC. But there are plenty of other teams such as Bahrain, Israel PT, DSM. Even the smaller Lotto would be a great team, as they're struggling to win stages.
lol lots of baseless statements made in this video just to fuel more issues within the team. This year wout has really no incentive to go all out given his wife is about to give birth. As a father you wouldnt risk your life for more daring attempts to win especially in sprints. Wout is at the best team there is currently. He never had any GC aspirations. His team knows how to work for him, and he also knows how to work for them
Where would he go to be supported better? Especially in the races that suits him the best? Nowhere will he find better teammates, who are able to support him in the races he excels in.
Chill, Wout and Jonas are good friends, there's no drama in the team. However disappointed might Wout be for coming so close but not getting the stage victories, he's incredible professional and puts it past really quickly. This year's Tour was the best example of that, the Herculean tasks he did for Jonas were incredible, just think of the Tourmalet stage. He's in the best team there currently is and he knows it. Besides, some stage victories at Tour are nice of course, but he'd rather have none of those and win Flanders and Roubaix for which he's always among the top contenders.
I think it makes sense for Wout to stay because Jumbo is a huge team and will support him in many races, but he will have toi understand that in the TdF and perhaps one of the other Grand Tours he will NOT play first fiddle. IF he cannot understand that, then he needs to go. But if he is fine with that, then he should stay because he can hardly wish for better backing in many classics etc throughout the year.
Skjelmose didn't start the rumour. It had been going around for several weeks and had even been reported in some media, before he mentioned it off the cuff.
Well, Wout was offered to the Lotto team, even before Veranda Willems but they didn't want him. I think he's happy where he is now, and Jonas is a good friend of his so> soudal would want him but they have to keep Remco first, after his contract he will go to Ineos.
I was saying Wout needs to race for the yellow but everyone is saying he's too heavy. No shit rn but he can lose weight and keep most of that power and ride at 150lbs for GC easily.
7:15 It's a bit like Buyout in NBA, only trouble is that the athletes themselves pay the Buyout fee, not the team. However: The athletes still become free agents of the buyouts are successful.
Many new cycling fans believe Tour de France equals cycling. Well it does not, certainly not for riders like Wout Van Aert or Tadej Pogačar, who lead Vingegaard considerably in UCI rankings. There is a whole other side to cycling besides tour de France and the other two 3 week 'soap operas'. There are classics, monuments, championships and shorter tours, some of which are cherished in the world of cycling equally or even more than TdF.
Apparently: Vinegaard and Roglic already confirmed they will be in La Vuelta. With the child being born not long after Van Aert's withdrawal, it's a bit pointless to anticipate him joining them in Spain as well.
My good friend Wesley Theunis is the personal masseur from Wout and there's nothing between him and Jonas. Same say's Raoul Saren, my former masseur. Who works also at Jumbo Visma and probably will move next year when Roglic changes team. Media always makes stories up. The worst ever is this Vuelta with Remco... Incredible why they need to look for hate and fights. Just enjoy the sports as these times are unique in cycling. Like the 70s there are great battles on the bike between really talented cyclists, like Matthieu, Poggi and others. That's once in a lifetime you can witness these natural talents.
Duo to their success, Jumbo now has a good, but hard, problem to deal. How to fit the goals and ambitious of three true champions (Roglic, Vingegaard and Van Aert), that could easily be captains in most of other times.
Honestly Sepp could be the leader of maybe a smaller and weaker team. When he sets the tempo, only 2 riders are able to hold his wheel, 1st place and second.
His problem is the limited amount of team that could both afford his salary AND afford his ambition. SoudalQS is actually a worse alternative, because why would being a domestique to Remco be better than being one to Jonas? I find it ludicrous that Remco is ‘afraid’ to compete in TdF. Remco will eventually have to compete in TdF, and when that times come Wout will have to pull for Remco in a team that, for a hot minute now, hasn’t had a real shot on Yellow Jersey until Remco; sounds worse to me. As for his performance this year, I’m not sure if it’s bcos Wout truly did not have the adequate support to win stages from Jumbo. Did he last year? I really do not see the difference other than.. maybe Wout was just not at his level from last year. Jumbo could never stop Wout winning stages even if they want to. Jumbo knows that, and Wout too. And as for leaving for team that can afford his ambition BUT not his salary… lol, he is only human like us. It rarely happens in our daily life, and much less in professional sports. Plus, he gets the benefit of Jumbo’s larger media exposure (and relationships) than any other team in the world now, and that’s a perk a superstar cyclist could never discount…. He needs sponsors and his sponsors needs exposure. Ineos is probably a better option, as it is unclear whether or not they will truly have a sustainable GC contender, esp for TdF. Rodriguez showed promises, but we will see. If Ineos is still trying to find one, that would be a good temporary moment for Wout to jump in. Large team with big budget and no clear superstar GC contender to focus on.
I think you are right in your analysis. I think he stays for all the reasons you mentioned but I'd love for him to be on a team that tried to win as many races as they could for him. He could truly be one of the greats.
@@janinecarlos1718 But Jumbo Visma already does that for him. He's not the captain in grand tours, but there are many important races throughout the year where he's the captain and the team works for him.
Wout is currently on the best team on the pro peleton. They allow him to chase his own goals so there is no gain to leaving. He’s a classics rider, not a GC contender. Although a good climber, he lacks the climbing prowess to ride with the GC leaders in the high mountains. That’s why he gets on the break. As the GC catches up to him on big climbs, he can then assist his teams GC rider. If he left JV t be GC contender on another team, GC riders would chase him, and pull him back. He wouldn’t be allowed to get on the break. His days of winning stages on tours would be over.
I have watched some of your other videos, which were great. However you loses some credibility with this one. There are no tensions between the jumbo visma team mates. Netflix manipulated the behind the scenes to make it seem that way. Both WvA and Vingegaard confirmed this and were quite unhappy with how they were portrayed.
We're sorry to hear that and we don't want to upset anyone, which is why we started the video with the disclaimer. This is a video we've done based on the evidence available at hand, which factors both in Netflix's footage and Van Aerts quotes. At the moment it's all speculation and should be treated as such, but we also want to share the possibilities that are very much real for Wout. Hope you'll continue to watch our future content :)
@@TrueSportsLore yes i understand that, just wanted to put that out there. Otherwise great video and i agree that it potientially could be exciting to see WvA at another team also. Thanks for the reply and engagement, you’ve earned a sub from me :)
Yes it'll be interesting to see whether they've collaborated with the second series filmed at the latest Tour. And if they did whether it'll be spun as much as the previous one. I honestly think mixing netflix and the Tour is a bad thing.
Interesting time to revisit this topic: if Jumbo could just let Sepp have the Vuelta given the right circumstances, surely they would support Wout for whatever his ambitions are too. The key is 'under a right circumstances'. Surely for any team there needs to be priorities. For Jumbo in the TDF, it is clearly GC over stage wins. It's not really Jonas' priority vs Wout's priority. Surely Wout could go to a team that has no other priorities so his priority always gets served. There happens to be this example of MVDP's. It's as good an example as examples go. Not many would consider MVDP's situation significantly better than Wout's. But end of the day it's Wout's personal choice if he wants to be part of Jumbo's big picture or not.
At the end of the day, the only thing that matters in TdF is to win the GC. Individual stages are not as important in that picture. TdF is a team effort to win the overall GC, meaning the yellow jersey. It is impossible to keep everybody happy.
why quickstep? Remco is obviosly the leader of the team, not sure why you think other wise as he is young and really good. I think he would be in a similar position as he is now because of how up and coming remco is. Anothing thing is Remco loves to win and isnt the nicest, they already have tention because of fights on the belgian national team a few years ago and I just cannot agree with you on quickstep being a good team for him
Wout can definitely become a GC contender. He can climb, he can sprint and he can break away too. What he really does need is a team the will support him as their leader, but seeing his friendship with Jonas, it's more probably like he's happy to just be a domestique for Jonas. If wout also say he wants to be a gc contender, then jumbo visma should be the one to make a move. Make both Jonas and Wout a leader, but they would need even stronger domestics for that because there will be no more wout to shelter Jonas as both of them will be the one who needs to be sheltered.
WRONG! Jonas is joining Roglic at the Vuelta meaning if either of them wins, preferably Primoz Roglic, both will be up for the Tour de France next year.
Roglic, is the one that needs to leave Jumbo Visma. I hate to say this but Jonas is the man now. If Roglic wants to win TDF he needs to do it on a different team. Ineos is the best fit for him.
@@fireball1462 i think your right but the effort he shows going up climbs and the amount of time hes in front is crazy. feels like if he had a team to pull him he could explode with crazy moves. i admit he does look alot heavier then most gc's
This is such dumb analysis... van aert is not going to win the GC against Tadej and Jonas. He is on a dream team at Jumbo where he can go for green and stage wins. There is no point in competing for GC for him on another team.
Wow…so a couple things…WVA would never be a real GC contender he is too big and heavy. Also MVDP is not much more than a lead out man in longer stages races. We also saw this spring that MVDP has a better sprint, so he doesn’t even compare to the other elite sprinters when he isn’t as fast as their lead out men. He said before the tour that he wasn’t interested in the green jersey this year and it showed in his tactics. Sure he could go to some other team and be a stage hunter at the tour, but I’m not sure he would trade everything he has going at jumbo a few stages with a worse team.
WVA to Quickstep? That’s ridiculous. WVA and Remco don’t get along and would fight over team leadership. LeFevre loves Remco and has put a lot into making him a success. Introducing WVA into that would upset Lefevre’s carefully crafted investment in Remco.
You're wrong about Skjelmose. He said it was predetermind that WVA would leave at the second wednesday of the Tour, which just wasn't true. That's diffefent than claiming he would leave early because his wife would give birth, which was already known long before the start of the Tour. Godda do your research man
if he leaves for UAE, he rides for pogi in the classics and in the tour, if he leaves for quick step he rides for him self in the classics and for evenepoel in the grand tours, if he leaves for ineos he can go for himself in the classics and ride for someone in the grand tours, at jumbo he gets all the space for the classics, and gets his own opportunities in grand tours while helping vingegard, whereever he would go he would still need to ride for his team in the big tours, jumbo just has the strongest team of all, so he can probably get the most space where he is at now
So Van Aert would leave Jumbo because of the work he have to do for Vingegaard and then join Quickstep to work for Evanepoel ... makes totally sense. Are you from Belgium by any chance .....
If he wants to go for GC, which he doesnt, he will lose his explosive power, which will mean that he wont be able to sprint and timetrail anymore that he loves. Ones he goes there is no turning back. So thats why he probs will never take that step to becoming a GC contender and there wont be no reason to leave jumbo
Bro, Wout is fine he didn't have the best tour this year yes, but again he was on the winning team. Also it should never be a big deal for a father to be present for his child. Wout is a great rider and he will likely stay with Jumbo to have excellent support in the classics and having a gigantic salary. He will continue to win at Jumbo and overall he is still doing great, so I'm not too worried about him lol.
Bullshit, van Aert en Vingegaard are friends. Vingegaard was visiting van Aert yesterday. van Aert is not unhappy with Jumbovisma. This is the same as Netflix. And one another thing, Wout is not leaving.
Its swings and rounderbouts. Can there be too much ambition in a superteam. Maybe wout will end up as a GC contender. But I think he will have more success as a one day assassin /stage sniper.
Wout cannot win sprints against someone like Philipsen unless the stage has been really hard. He has even said multiple times that he is very wary of someone like Mads Pedersen in a sprint, and Pedersen is considerably slower than Philipsen on a flat stage. Wout also seems to be genuine friends with Jonas, and he has done what he has been asked every single stage of this years TdF. I really doubt he is as unhappy as some people claim him to be.
His got only internal pressure… his kinda shielded from been a true leader. Not sure how he would handle the dynamics of been a rider who had the full responsibility of making it happen at every big event. At Jumbo the pressure is spread across several riders, plus his in a good place, can’t seem breaking yet another contract with an outgoing sponsor.
While i always appreciate good cycling content, i have to say that some statements in this video is just factually wrong. Skjeldmose did not start the rumour, that Wout was leaving early. That was already known beforehand. What he did say, however, was that he heard he would leave after a specific stage. It's also statet that the danish media called Wout out for leaving early, which isnt true eather. They mentioned it would be a loss for Vingegaard, but there was no ill will towards him. Then there is the whole speculation aspect of the video, arguing that it would benefit Wout to leave Jumbo-Visma. While its true, that Wout didn't win a stage in the Tour this year, we have already seen he has carte blanche to attack on stages without a GC focus. It didn't work out this year, but why should't it next year? That is an opinion of course, so it is perfectly valid to have. But looking at his results at JV, i don't think there is much incentive to leave unless Wout wants to be a pure Sprinter or a GC rider.
I think this about is : this tour he was not the same as others he had not the legs that he had in 2022 and if he wants to win well a cyclist can’t win anything the want I think he should stay
Wout Powls are 10 - 12Kg lighter than Wout van Art, and van Art works a lot more in this Mountain Stage!! Wout Van Art has this year not the form from last year. Wout will have to stay at Jumbo Visma.
I think the best for him is like you said in the vid. Go to The Wolfpack. He will be the main man in almost every race. But winning the Tour De France with Quick-Step is never going to happen but he will win many races.
Evenepoel is trying to win tour de france in 2024, so wouldn´t he just have the same problem, just with a otherwise worse team? I think jumbo is the best place for WvA
This video and channel is just bad. They changed their mind like three about who would win the tour, first after Vingegaard took time on Pogacar, and then a video saying Pogacar would win after he took time. Now saying that van Aert should change from the best team in the world. Jumbo dedicates the classics to van Aert, and the Grand Tours to Roglic and Vingegaard. Last year he won three stages AND the green jersey, all while helping Vingegaard win the tour. I agree on him (van Aert) not being on the same level as last year, but he didnt really ride for the green jersey this year, it was all about winning the Tour de France with Vingegaard.
Wout in the 2022 was an anomoly honestly. He is too heavy for GC, he is just so good that he usually can ride pretty amazingly in mountains despite that. As for Wout going to another team. It could work of course, I think Quick step is decent but you forget Remco. If Remco dosn't leave, that team will probably be centered around them. (and as far as I know Remco and Wout dosn't actually like each other that much, if the rumors of factions within the belgium team is correct). Moving to Ineos seems like a mistake to me honestly, but I suppose it could work. UAE is the same as Jumbo, he would have to battle with Pogacar ... Freaking pogacar. Now he would not only get sidelined in the tour, but also in the classics as Pogacar might even be better there then Wout. He would lose probably the best trainers, gear and team in general by leaving, which could very well negatively impact his results. I don't see an obvious transfer for him, but it is always a pickle when you have a man who can in essence win almost anything, but is not given a team around him because other monsters are next to him.
Hello, I'm one of your fans from China. I would like to translate this video and reprint it into Chinese bilibili video website. Now, I just need to confirm whether you allow me to do so, if you MIND what I did, please tell me, thanks
Im sorry but wout is good at jumbo visma. He has a whole team around him at the classics. Lookt at last year paris nice, wout helped primoz roglic stay in yellow and a week later primoz helped wout in milan sanremo. The team works great and is the best team in the world. Besides some arguments, you cant say wout isnt at his place at jumbo visma
I agree, once he missed out at MSR, Flanders and Roubaix and gave Fleche away he was destined to be a climbing domestic. However x millions of euros per year lightens the load
The sponsors dont count wins - they count screen time and public opinion, both of witch Wout is getting a lot by beeing the absolut beast he is - just look at the video clips like "everybody needs a wout in his life" the argument that he is under pressure from his sponsors is complete nonesens
So he should leave jumbo because he needs to do domestique duties in the tour for Jonas, and go to quickstep to do domestique duties for Remco? Also Wout as a GT rider... he would need to retrain his whole body. Hes a very decent climber, especially for someone that size. But not amongst the best 25 climbers in the world and hence not a GT contender. Hes "just" a great cyclocross, classics, sprint, small tour, break away and time trial rider.
I am sorry bro but your shit. WVA is doing great in Jumbo Visma
You can't expect him to win 3 stages every Tour.
you're right.
He made Vingegaard win last Tour, worked for him the whole of this Tour so because of two episodes you can't say he doesn't work for Vingegaard, sorry
@@MrDado937he didn’t’ really say that, did he? Just that vingegaard paid him back by giving The TT…
@@markuskristensen4934 he provided the example of vdp and kiatkowski being domestiques as if WA didn't
One lead out is all you need 🤨
I conclude this video is mostly clickbait and speculation based on no evidence or proof (the netflix docu isnt proof)
Wva does not care about the green jersey
It's definitely not the only races that count but they do count for a lot in the world of cycling
I think that would be the perfect team for him
@@BMCS97he also wouldn’t be a leader there
It makes more sense for Primoz Roglic to leave Jumbo.
Sagan had teams built around him. So too boonen
Wva deserves team built around him. He’s that good
@@paulsolon6229WVA deserve what he has, and believe me he isn't that good! I don't understand the hype around him - he hasn't winning nothing big, always come second, on the other hand Remco Evenepoel is the big deal. He is 23y.o and his achievements are bigger than WVA's.
@@МаргаритаСтоянова-з7з in a way your comment is rt. But mostly no, the comment is off
@@МаргаритаСтоянова-з7з we disagree
He stated
“I don’t need to convince you that I was more interested, but I have never personally interacted with any other team. It has always been my goal to extend my contract here. It was best for me to stay. I am glad that it has been completed and I am relieved to be able to speak my mind.”
The media made up the tension between him and the rest of the guys on the team.
WvA as GT contender? I doubt that... he is too big. But he IS one hell of a rider.
@@alexanderishere1857 very true
only rider in history as tall as WvA to win the TdF yellow jersey was Bradley Wiggins (exactly 1.90 m, just as WvA), followed by Schleck, Indurain and Froome (1.86); quite unlikely WvA could ever aim to contest as a GC rider, specially during the Vingegaard-Pogacar era.
It's not only based on the Netflix documentary, which other bits of our analysis do you disagree with?
He should target the world road race championship every year.
yeah theres alright animosity between the two
what about sepp kuss that man could probably win one of the other grand tours with a team around him. racing the giro and the tour like he did is mental.
I need GC Kuss some day in the future please!!
Seems like the research only considered 3 weeks of the year and not a majority of the season where JV rides solely to support WvA!
WvA is a beast on a bicycle but I doubt he will transfer. Maybe next time Jumbo will give him a better opportunity in other future races.
this is very interesting, and yes, it's true, he might have had more success in this Tour if he had been in another team.
Seeing him optimize his potential for GC and give the current favorites a run for their money riding for a team like Ineos would be fun.
lol lots of baseless statements made in this video just to fuel more issues within the team.
Say you dont know cycling without saying you dont know cycling
0:45 Jonas have commented that he told Wout to go in that situation since Jonas couldnt keep up and had a ineos rider on him
WVA is not the only rider wearing a Red Bull helmet. Anton Palzer from Bora-Hansgrohe also wears one.
I'm not so sure Wout would have beaten Philipsen much this Tour, even with more of a team effort for him.

Next video - Why Sepp Kuss should LEAVE TJV after his contract.
why quickstep? Remco is obviosly the leader of the team, not sure why you think other wise as he is young and really good. I think he would be in a similar position as he is now because of how up and coming remco is. Anothing thing is Remco loves to win and isnt the nicest, they already have tention because of fights on the belgian national team a few years ago and I just cannot agree with you on quickstep being a good team for him
Well.. Wout is not a GC rider.. He guy is a monster, he can do anything but the thing he isnt is a GC rider.
At those other teams he would also have to work as a domestique. (Evenepoel, Pogacar, Rodriguez). This video is just stupid
when wout didn't win any stage at the Tour everyone lost their minds.
He deserves a shot at the yellow jersey…
I want Roglic to leave Jumbo though. I want to see him in the Tour de France which won't happen now after Jonas winning it twice
Have you seen our video on him? We talk about where he could move to next year

Roglic, is the one that needs to leave Jumbo Visma. I hate to say this but Jonas is the man now. If Roglic wants to win TDF he needs to do it on a different team. Ineos is the best fit for him.
Maximum chaos and he signs w/ UAE and pulls for Pogacar.
Hahaha now that would make for a good season of Unchained
A move to UAE likely offers WVA the most opportunity for wins, the most comparable salary, and the least loss of exposure.

Roglic and Wout going to Ineos would be nuts

Wva superb rider
He deserves team built around him
You're wrong about Skjelmose.
And wont be able to do the classics as well, which he also loves
I dont think so. Pogi is going for Classic, GC and TT too. Why should Wout Not be able to Domspatzen as well?
@@flixcrane1022 because pogacar is a generational talent who is a beast in everything. No guarantees that van aert will have that as well
Bro, Wout is fine he didn't have the best tour this year yes, but again he was on the winning team.
Bro really tried to create a beef based on a spliced clip and a bad day on a race just to prove a point
You really just said that Mvdp and WvA roles are different but they are exactly the same in cyclocross, classics and in the tour. What a bad take
I need a way to read the comment section without clicking into this video and contributing views to craps.
You're making a good case.
With a new child, I would not be surprised if WVA goes for the biggest payday to give his family financial security
I don't wanna see WVA on those hideous jerseys with lidl Trek
This is why Wout Van Aert shouldn't leave Jumbo : salary
I think MVDP maybe goes for UAE.
No wout should stay tjv
Is the best for the team and for wout vanart
This channel should get more recognition. He creates one of the best cycling vids out here, very great production.
Glad you think so!
This is so "last year" and pure speculation. I just needed to watch a few seconds to realize that it's a waste of time. Sorry.
Yes that's okay
@@TrueSportsLore Thanks!
Its roglic who needs to leave jumbo if he wants a shot at winning the tour before he retires
And now Red Bull has their own team 👀
I agree, once he missed out at MSR, Flanders and Roubaix and gave Fleche away he was destined to be a climbing domestic. However x millions of euros per year lightens the load
Wout has awnsered this question. There is no way it will happen. At Jumbo he gets what he wants and gas the best team mates possible
bugatti for a ferrari? More like Bugatti for a Skoda
Let me add can Wout out climb Jonás and Pogi? Let that sink
Wout van Aert is not a GC rider in the big tours. Tdf is decided in the high mountains and he is not a climber.
Wow this is big!
Stick with the team with the best doctor
