The circuit diagram you are drawing is for dynamic characteristics as you measure voltage across diode and resistance. Are you sure there is current limiting resistor inside your apparatus? If Yes This is not forward bias static characteristics.

@Pracht Nudeln CUT IN VOLTAGE or KNEE VOLTAGE voltage exist in forward bias only. Ideally, for silicon it is 0.7V and for germanium diode it is 0.3V . In reverse bias there is BreakDown Voltage. As per video, it is 22 V. Watch Video at 11:35
Everything was great but in our colleges their is Different Kind of box on which we can use all types of Diode. It our choice that which kind of diode we use on which biased.
I don't like this video just because i got confused of circuit diagram in my school manual the diode is in parallel but you add it in series that all 3 conponents aloso changes
