Grew up in a Chrysler Cordoba, white on blue with chrome mags. Hated it at the time because it was just an “old car” but looking back it was pretty sick
as a kid in the 80s, we lvied in southern illinois. during the Street Machine Nationals, we would drive around the parking lots of the hotels and look at all the show cars that were staying there
That Challenger and Vette were beautiful. I wouldn't survive 5 minutes driving that Challenger. This car actually looks familiar. That must've been a popular style cause I'm in Canada so I doubt it'd be the same. Someone probably took the nice motor out of it and dropped that in to sell it as running. I never understood the pink and neon craze
Ironically, while this model Mirada was a brick even Richard Petty couldn't get above 175, Buddy Arrington took the same package and tested, got the same results, but is said to have pushed the same setup to 197 in the Imperial body. So the Mirada was used in short track, while the Imperial was used on Superspeedways. He had no factory support, and the engine program was lagging. He did a lot on his own. Pretty Impressive. I have an '83 Imperial and the wind tunnel work Chrysler did really paid off. The front end looks like Darth Vader's helmet, but it is quieter than my '21 Charger at 80mph. No wind noise at all.
What a great looking car. There has to be a follow up episode , where it gets some love and the horse power gets increased a bit. Then you cam do a real burnout and really smoke those old tyres. Big Love.
Hellcat swap, chameleon pink paint! Gotta love the 80s! I couldn’t do it, not much hair left, have to get a Mortske Mullet! Super great idea dudes, love the shades!
Cool story. You mentioned the drag strip went to 1000 ft before nhra. When I was a kid in the 70s a track my brother in law and nextdoor neighbor raced at occasionally near Moss TN (unincorporated back then) claimed to be 3/16ths. No Christmas tree but had head starts marrked out on the pavement beside the track for spotting on index racing.
Your a doll for uploading these. word of advice though, focus on the episodes that are post their youtube days. those are the episodes that most of us have missed out on.
Other than the paint, it has a very aerodynamic body. With a different color paint, it is a kind of wicked-looking body. Put the ""Hemi" in it? It is intimidating looking. By far, one of the most entertaining automotive TH-cam Channels.
I mean a 4 link, a lot of weight reduction, get it as low as possible, torque flight, and a Steve Dulcheck built 14:1 383 with tunnel ram and dual carbs, do some really nice long tube headers, x pipe to boom tube looking side exit exhaust, have it wrapped flat black, polish those wheels up and power coat them transparent purple, maybe put some TBM brakes up front, 3 kits of N2o and spray it to an 8.99.... id go out on a limb and say it would be a really cool car. I mean, the same vibe with a 440 would be cool too but i have a vision of this thing with a 600hp, c16 burning 8500 rpm sbm taking air from that absurd hood and just screaming with blue flames just ripping outta those doom toobs... Hell yeah.
I think there was another drag strip in that area. Between Springfield and Rochester on Rt 29. Alot of the big names raced there in the 60's. This is what I was told anyway.
My first car was a 1980 Dodge Mirada it had a 225 slant 6 I always wanted to put a V8 in it because I had never seen another one like it on the road and that was in 1990
not that far off on the initial body shape analysis..these were built with NASCAR in mind, but the Fox was also getting built with the idea of wind tunnel shaping really helping score on the CAFE restrictions (the Thunderbird was changing from the brick Dale Ernheart JR campaigned to the aerobirds). back then, some claimed Ford was going "european" and by 1987, the areo headlight look from the Taurus was really moving thru ford like a twin kidney grill did thru 1960's Pontiacs. Meanwhile, I'm wondering if that B block is actually a 400 low compression truck or RV engine. I think there was a tubbed Vega between the Lisk Challenger & Sudden Death Mustang II that was its rival, and the Dobbertin Nova.
I used to have a 84 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme brougham s 2dr split bench front seat buttercream yellow and burgundy pinstripe and interior, had a 0.30 over z71 off road 350 vortec roller cam in a 91 Chevy Camaro RS 305 h.o. true h.o. tune port 081 heads th350c pancake Lock up torque factory transmission for the 84 cutlass, and 3.23 rear gear but factory rear sway bar anyway it was a daily driver and I had Remington xt-120 L60 14 inch ansen magnesium aluminum slots on the back it definitely looked tubbed but it was not.. and some normal American racing slots in the front i know they were American racing ones because the cut out kidney beans were factory accent painted black
I drove one with the fake convertible top back in 1983. They had a great shape and the interior looked really nice. The problem was that they were constructed out of the cheapest materials you could ever find on a car. I remember the salesman was a rather portly gentleman and when he got into the drivers seat, he actually broke the console with his right hip. You could lift the console up with one hand. What a POS.
Had a new 71 Cuda that was supposed to have 300 HP!! NOPE! 😔 That was the smog control period and ALL the engines suffered!! It took them about ten years to improve the problem with catalyst Etc. Some of the big blocks were deleted from the option list. I named my 383 Captain Slow!! I should have waited for the two fours 440 with 425;HP! Names for your car: Pink Pathetic Panther Can't Spinum 3 MPG Slow lane only Pink Pimp Panther Starsky and Hutch Wannabe SAND IT OFF!
I believe someone who built it spent a lot of money on it, in the end got tired of it and sold as a badass streetrace machine. Who ever bought it ripped the original engine out and resold it as "unfinished project". Who ever bought it stabbed some random craigslist engine into it with a hackjob of a wiring and flipped it for profit as "perfectly running and driving prostreet". Sad to see really that what was once someone's pride and joy has ended up being a complete turd.
It's weird, I've been a massive Roadkill fan since the first, but ever since they moved over to MOTD I just outright stopped watching. edit: Just checked and I see they moved to Discovery. Fuck that lmao. edit2: fuck it I paid for it.
Keep this uploads coming while you can!! I can finally watch Roadkill. Sucks being in a locked country.
So true.. been a PITA down here in OZ not being able to get MT
i love the 80's and 90's
when someone had a bright neon pink ride, you knew it was on another level.
'just shocked there isn't a grey burlap interior
The hide and seek with the corvette was hilarious
Grew up in a Chrysler Cordoba, white on blue with chrome mags. Hated it at the time because it was just an “old car” but looking back it was pretty sick
Those EGR module time controllers melted the potting with amazing regularity . Replaced many back in the day .

Im impressed with the vibe. It takes me back.
If saved by the bell was a car
Lol
I kind of remember that Miranda. I love that type of Dodge
My first car was a 1980 Dodge Mirada. It had a 318 with a 2 barrel carb and was slow as hell, but I loved that car!
You guys definitely have to put some gnarly bigblock swap in it
pretty sure, back in the day, That car was in Car Craft Magazine
Pro Street was a narrowed rear end, fat tires and aluminum tubs
I clicked cause I saw a fox body then they show it and I immediately knew something was off
Nice junk 🙊🙀

You guys definitely need to do some more videos with this car!!
Dobbertin! I remember seeing a documentary about his Dobbertin Surface Orbiter.. Probably rotting in a field now.
Love the totally natural and not at all rehearsed conversation with yellow corvette guy. that microphone must have come from nowhere
Very nice, thanks fur the memories! Pretty sure my first trip was 91 lol!
Freiburger "The body style looks soo like 79 Fox body but larger"......lol, it wishes it looked like a Fox 🤣
Those 1980s "Pro Street" vehicles sure looked nice!...
That is the sickest car. I love everything about it. Period correct.
Looks like some black guy owned it
@@joeblow8206 this paint scheme was pretty popular late 80s ,.early 90s..........ugly as hell but it was a thing
Super cool of you guys including the yellow vet in your episode !!
Back in the day, I remember a Rod Salsberry, maybe a tubbed split window '63 Vett. Cool
It was also all numbers matching & a fuelie if I remember correctly.
Much love. I have read Hot Rod from the early 80's.
This should have been a vehicle within REVELL's "HOT ROD" 1/25th scale model kit line!
I would have built it also.
Hellcat swap, chameleon pink paint! Gotta love the 80s! I couldn’t do it, not much hair left, have to get a Mortske Mullet! Super great idea dudes, love the shades!
It looks like a Chevy monza combined with a Ford Fairmount and a notchback mustang lol
It's like watching a real life Beavis and butthead show lol.. love the show...
Would love to see you guys.Put some work in the car and run it down the track!!!
I absolutely love this car!❤❤❤❤❤

The last thing I heard about that Car is the right rear wheel came off of it. & the wheel was Fubar !!!!!
'' Prostreetering '' that sounded naughty
Only Freiburger would try swingin donuts in a prostreet car!
That burnout contest was amazing. This car was kinda perfect. Needs that Draguar motor
rick dobertines blue nova with a 6-71 blower and twin turbos is one of the first pro street car i vividly remember
love the show and love the adventure awesome job guys!!!
Your a doll for uploading these. word of advice though, focus on the episodes that are post their youtube days. those are the episodes that most of us have missed out on.
New show idea.. Roadkill fans project cars and there owners.. maybe somehow add vehicular hide seak/tagg
Other than the paint, it has a very aerodynamic body.

I'd TOTALLY LOVE to take that car and make it TRULY AWESOME!!!

Man how much i would love to or see someone buy that abandoned dragstrip and completly restore it
What an awesome and super rare car... I want one!
Brilliant, really smile inducing!
My first car was a 1980 Dodge Mirada it had a 225 slant 6 I always wanted to put a V8 in it because I had never seen another one like it on the road and that was in 1990

Reminds me of the early days of Summernats..
When growing up my mom had one of these she bought from my grandma.

Oh look at the Geo Metro.... said nobody ever. Until today.
Looks like a 1979 Dodge (fake) Challenger, which I have one, currently sleeping. :)
I wonder how many remember the 70' and 80's C.B. hide and seek game called, Fox and Hound?
Here is another tip once u have it running just unhook the battery if it stays running alternator is working
Very Cool...

Finnegan said. " I'm about to get my own show".min 45.10
I've seen this car before. Didn't Cotton buy it on an episode of Finnegan's garage? So it's kinda been in the family.
Fine. I’ll resub to the “free” roadkill. If only Mike and David still had the same quick wit one liners
That pink car in the introduction sounds like it's down a pot
Corvette guy was way cool!
I’m now happy
What kind of tunes do you have? Foghat, Bob Seger, Iron Butterfly, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix ???
Dodge Miranda also came with a slant 6
If you get to Maryland look for 75 and 80 Dragway
I'm curious what is the magnetic trick you mentioned for the alternator?
Dave said to absorbent lol
HEY!!!
I LIVE FOR DRIVING COUCHES!!!
ALL MY BEST CARS WERE MASSIVE 5000 POUND ALL POWER COUCHES ON WHEELS!!!
I have a friend that may have owned that Pro street Challenger or made one to look like that one.
I still don't understand that. Lol. Ballast resistor. Me either.
That color is called Magenta.
I saw that the passenger rear wheel was wobbling all over.
Hell yeah ❤❤❤❤
You are here too ?
Pretty sure that was painted in the same scheme as the model pro street thunderbird.
Had a new 71 Cuda that was supposed to have 300 HP!! NOPE! 😔

You guys were in Lansing, and didn't say hi?
Did they make a single other valve cover than those MTs?? Every single older car ive messed with had them. Its all you see.
Can someone please explain that alternator trick more in depth
Not a burnout but a turdout 😂😂😂😂😂
Finnegan thats Salmon not pink😅 I was thinking K-car not fox body 😅
dodge mirada is the reason richard petty switched to buick

Unless they just wanted the look and sound. Without knowing and just looking, you would not race it at the lights.
Nice jokely’s
I was thinking this was some verison of a granda or fairmont
Never did i think it was a dodge
Heater hoses not hooked up……NO HEATER……
did this car ever come back on roadkill
The whole car is angular with a roundish hood scoop. I think you need a new hood to match the body.
Prostreeting...
4:09 now this car i remember from street machine magazine...im pretty sure it was a late eighties edition..or like 1990..😊
whats this weird music and figurine at the end?
A lot of people do it to fool YT copyright bots
Is this an official channel or a pirate outlet?
Ox body
1980 called they want there car back dam that thing is ugly
It's weird, I've been a massive Roadkill fan since the first, but ever since they moved over to MOTD I just outright stopped watching.
edit: Just checked and I see they moved to Discovery. Fuck that lmao.
edit2: fuck it I paid for it.
So is that car even fast? Or like a 14 second quarter mile?
