Okay, hear me out. Guppy is that obnoxiously fit young flatmate who is always caffeinated, doesn't like being alone, likes to towel-snap other people in the locker room, will randomly drop to the floor and do crunches/push ups, and likes to play wrestle people who aren't into it.
Need to get Billi on that wheel to get in fighting shape for the next encounter (hopefully there won't be too many now they're moving). It's not really a fair fight lol
That's what happens when you let your cat play with your hands, they grow up thinking you are their toy. Not only that, but they reward Guppy for biting with toys and attention, only reinforcing bad behavior. I remember when I was a kid and my neighbor had a cat that would bite your legs really hard when he wanted attention. It upset me, made me fear going to their house, and almost made me hate cats entirely. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CATS TO BITE YOU.

I would NEVER tolerate biting like that. A firm NO and glaring at the cat eventually registers. Ive had >12 cats and total 30 years experience and it works every time. Cats are SO smart, so boundaries between us are easily figured out. Consistency and patience.

Thanks for these highlights. 🤣 BTW - for others for whom foot attacks really are a problem. Bitter apple spray or tabasco (as long as your cat does not like tabasco - I've only had one who liked spicy stuff) on the foot and socks can help with the biting problem (positive punishment), as will walking away / stopping interactions (negative punishment). Distraction (using other toys, etc.) often backfires, because it can inadvertently serve to reinforce the biting. Laughing and giving into the Gup-ster look a bit like reinforcement to me, which explains why foot attacks are still happening. (But then, Kendra knows that too. Behavioral training is a big piece in zoos' tool boxes these days.)

I'm about halfway through now and I have come to the conclusion Guppy is a bit unhinged and don't blame Billi one bit. Most of the ones where she starts she is feeling threatened, worried about her territory and is triggered/traumatized by previous Guppy incidents. Poor Billi lol

I've had 6 cats, i wouldnt put up with that for long, luckily only one actually bites, only when he's scared and he since learned to hiss instead. I would wear Jeans immediately and never flinch when she attacks, instead firmly lift her from the ground with my leg, so she realizes the colossal strength difference without risking to hurt her, but give her a small spook in response, she has to understand that i'm never frightened or affected by her aggression, i would try to never reinforce it. Don't try to pet her unless she's obviously asking for it. Some cats are demons but even them can be handled optimally and softened.

Well I can say this two cats together make them crazy, extremely funny. I had two cats when I was a kid. Both were so cute and very funny. I had a wonderful time with them. Best cats ever. Tommy took the night shift sleeping on my bed, Speedy had the day shift of sitting on my lap. They both was the cutest, very loving I miss them both.
