I am a fan of Thai fighters and also Superbon but there’s no deny that Petrosyan is one of the goat, I am happy for Superbon win and I wish Petrosyan a speedy recovery too. Petrosyan no doubt is a very great fighter so I don’t think we should discredit him tbh, anything can happen in fight business, sometimes we win sometimes we lose , but thanks to their performance we get to witness high lvl combat sport and they’re risking their physical health for our entertainment and making a living. Respect to both fighters

A fan of both of them. I was taken aback when Superbon was KOed by Marat Grigorian's punches in the first round a few years ago. Nobody is invincible/invulnerable to heavy punches/kicks.

That was beautiful trapping. Superbon kept throwing that right roundhouse, watching his opponent’s forearms turn to defend the kick. Saw that reaction over and over again. Launched a couple body kicks to get those arms a little lower, then put a little hop to that head kick to get over the hands and slam home the KO blow. You can see the elbow dig in and drop to defend the body kick that never came. Some people here are saying that he got the opportunity and took it. That was not handed to him. He was engineering that outcome from the opening bell.
All martial art need to have a “ Set Up Executed Technic - SUEC “ to execute your opponents in a competition not for winning in point , Winning with point is only play safe “ hit and run “
Exactly-superbon has knocked out a lot of his opponents the exact same way-that one Chinese fighter comes to mind where I thought he literally killed the guy. That right leg of his is a WEAPON. Hope Petrosyan is ok and gets a rematch when he recovers.
Yup, goes to the body to set up the high kick..in UFC Valentina, Jon Jones also did this and got the high kick KO but SuperBon did the best, perfect execution

Right, MuayThai always planned for KO in every fight. Fighter never care how many weapons launched or walk speed. I believed superbon tested his right kicks to see defense patterns and how strong, then confused Petrosyan with some decoy kicks before executed.
Had to wake up early for the live show, but man was it worth it. I was sitting in my car, before work, and I yelled super loud when Superbon got the KO. What a great event. Hats of to the ONE crew and the fighters for putting on an excellent show.

He knew exactly when his opponent was transitioning to his guard when he was opening the distance and he timed this kick perfectly. Brutal KO...
well he set it up with those other kicks. he sort just 'hacked' away at it until it worked. it went just over girgio's arm meaning it wasn't super clean. GP was not expecting that level of accuracy on that kick unfortunately but i think he saw it coming at least

Petrosyian is the reason I started watching kickboxing and instantly became one of my favorite fighters of all time, (along with Somart) so to see him get ko'd like this is hard to watch, but congrats to Superbon that was a great win and look forward to seeing him against either Marat or Sittichai again
We already seen these fights should have made Giorgio vs Marat or even sittichai in a superfight for the belt this was terrible matchmaking

but that's cos of the force of his kick, but I hear what your saying, its double the impact that's why thai refs trys to catch their heads as they drop from getting ko, if they see it happen. Some times it happens in a blink of an eye and u miss it.
@@tuchesampho2047 Yeah, refs "try," but fighters almost always hit their head when they fall like that-- deadweight. It's a double concussion for sure-- another hit on top of the traumatic one that knocks you out.
He has neurological damage now eye twitches muscle spasms . Hope he recovers I met him after this fight he’s mentally tough but he’s already showing cte hope he doesn’t develop Parkinson’s that’s what I see. He’s also almost 40
Not married no kids doesn’t seem like he’s not a great personal life. Wish him well he’s a legend but I think the sport did a number on him and took a huge toll on his health .
Damn I remember Giorgio fighting Buakaw to a draw in a title fight like it was yesterday. Seeing him lose to a Banchamek student in a title fight is wild. He's been around so long. Weird fact: Giorgio's only 2 KO losses are to people who trained with Buakaw at some point: Superbon and Nonthanan!
well, we're going to forget the ristie fight... cos i hate ristie, and it shouldn't have gone down that way lol. but GP has a stupidly impressive career. btw, we all know who really won the buakaw fight... giorgio was the only fighter that buakaw showed anxiety and apprehensiveness fighting. you could clearly see it. buakaw was alot more cautious fighting him and didn't attempt his usually ring bullying because he knew he was fighting a goat.
@@quickstep2408 Petrosyan was not GOAT at that time. Both he and Buakaw were at their prime still building their legacy. Even then, many argue Petrosyan really lost on points, which I agree. Also, Superbon has knocked out ppl Buakae has lost to before (Dhzaniev) in similar fashion

Called it months ago. Pet*ROID*syan was getting knocked out. He likes to throw a lunging right jab to step outside, but leaves himself open for the headkick when pulling back. SB controlled the space with the teep and hard right kicks. When Pet*ROID*syan came in, SB was ready and watching for the hands. ROIDers are cheaters. PetROIDsyan should only be remembered as a ROIDer.

There are people who are on the same level as many other Superballs. If you search and you will find them. If you can't beat Thailand's top boxers You can't say you're the best. If you can't beat Tawanchai or Callahan and Payak Samui, you're still not the best.

It's knockouts like this that make me stick to kickboxing as a workout/hobby the fight game ain't nothing to play with.

I can't believe it. I looked away for 2 seconds and the fight was over, thank god for replays. That was a hard knockout as well, the body went stiff and all.

GP is so good at defending right roundkicks. He feeds off from opponents' frustration from that... but not this time.
Superbon committed in his round kicks... he trusted its explosive power and he's relentless with the attack. Key here is the TRUST IN HIS PRIMARY WEAPON.

This is not really Muay Thai. Still this size. If you really meet Muay Thai, you probably won't survive the first round. But it's nice to sympathize with those who lose. Pity. Please get better quickly.
the kick just missed GP's left arm and into his face. GP was probably aware of the kick and its trajectory but reacted a little too slowly or had his arm just a little to low to block it. superbon's accuracy is no joke
@@quickstep2408 true. GP tried to do a fade back but Superbon's kick was quicker than he expected. It was all GPs fault really. Trying a high risk move without having enough data first.

Actually every time he gets his back into the cage he goes punch, clinch, knee to be body, disengage, right high kick. This time did it more in the open. And yeah, it's not that easy lad.
Never noticed till now and watching back GPs fights but he drops his left hand a lot when throwing the straight and it looks like Superbon knew this and paired that up with the straight into high kick he wasn’t ready for in the 1st round.
Superbon also took away Giorgios inside game by throwing those teeps. Better man won tonight, hopefully Giorgio is okay too.

Kick Boxing rule should allow its fighters to hold a neck for using knees many time. This is because in 2014, Buakao knock
out his Japanese opponent in the final round in K1 contest and became a champion in that year. Therefore, since 2915 K1 has forbiden its fighters to hold a neck for using knees several times and the fighters could use a knee only one time
But, now, there are many kick boxing fighters using knees very well. So, it should be the right time to repeal this rule. If so, kick boxing will be more excited and different clearly from int'l boxing which allows its fighters to use only fists.

Superbon did an excellent job at keeping GP at kicking distance and smothering his punch combinations it cannot be overstated how impressive his performance was.

Exactly. His defense made way for his offense. Once you take your opponents offense away.Once you limit it.They start loosing confidence and become more frustrated over time. Then start questioning their skills which leads to slower reaction times.

He had his timing of the hand dropping by the end of the 1st. Congrats to him for finding the point early otherwise was going to be a brutal fight for both.

You can sit at the top for so long, beat the best in the sport and 1 loss will have these experts in the comment section tearing you apart as if you have accomplished nothing all along.
When both fighters are so skilled all it takes is one mistake to be punished, and Petrosyan was at the receiving end tonight. Dropped his left hand, Superbon saw the gap and capitalised. It was no stroke of luck, hours and hours of practicing such kicks made it muscle memory. At the same time, had Superbon been sloppy, I believe Petrosyan has the ability to knock him out as well. There’s no if’s or buts, it is what it is.
This win by Superbon and Petrosyan’s loss doesn’t take away anything from the fact that they are both among the best the sport has ever, and if I dare say, will ever see in a long time to come. We don’t have to put someone down and trample all over them to be able to enjoy another’s success.
Wishing Petrosyan a speedy recovery and congratulations to the new Champ, trainer Gae must be so proud!

SB is crazy flexible he can head kick very close to you. You won’t see it in a close up exchange

Many times I saw the judges on this stage. not in time to save the knocked out man I propose to approach a professional referee from Thailand. Many of you save more boxers than yourself.

Superbon's game plan was perfectly executed. Buakaw style keeping the range against a proficient boxer with kicks and canceling his punches with kicks in the arms. This combined with nailing GP's timing allowed SB to find that hole in his upper guard. Kaboom! SB sends the Doctor back to the hospital in a stretcher.

The Muay Thai fighter just beat the GOAT of kickboxing in a kickboxing match by dominant fashion at the kickboxer's own game/rule. If elbows and clinch were allowed This would not be fun to watch. Petrosyan is also a Muay Thai fighter... he fought Muay Thai for 5 years before he started kickboxing... if you look closely at Petrosyan’s style, you can see Muay Mat and Muay Fimeu.
Also, if I’m not wrong, Petrosyan has no losses as a Muay Thai fighter, he only has losses as a kickboxer.

2 bodykicks followed by a highkick when Petrosyan started attacking. Perfect execution. Hope Giorgio is well.
It's a game of chess guys. Superbon tricked Petrosyan to lower his guard. At the end of round 1 Petrosyan seemed getting more confident and relaxed that Superbon's kicks weren't really as good as he first estimated but that appeared that it was more like Superbon's plan. You can see Superbon's 2 bait kicks that didn't seem to reach head then Petrosyan approached to strike and knock, lowering his guard. It was an entrapment.

SUPERBON is a really good boxer. But PETROSYAN was a good fighter by promotion. There are many boxers in Thailand who are better than PETROSYAN. But they are not promoted. Therefore it is not well known. PETROSYAN just a B+ grade boxer in Thailand.
@@toonppb8242 Agree, Petrosyan is a legend but the Thai circuit is something else. Many Thai fighters say fighting the local guys is much more difficult than the international scene.
I was surprised Petrosyan went straight at Superbon like he was just going to overpower him (maybe he's been hanging out with Marat Grigorian). The kick that nailed him caught him by surprise because you don't normally see someone double up on a rear leg roundhouse kick with that kind of speed. That kick was lightning and would have knocked out an elephant.
Great performance from Superbon, I'm excited to see him fight in the future. I hope Giorgio is recovers and doesnt have long term damage. I'd be fine with him retiring, this would be a perfect "passing the torch" fight to a deserving young champion.

I hope this wasn't too bad on his health especially the way he fell and his head bounced of the canvas, I heard it's often just that what gives someone a concussion with a KO, not the hit that makes you go down.

You are wrong. There are many other martial arts that can do a very fast kick. Taekwondo has one of fastest high kicks as much as Shaolin Kung Fu. Japanese shotokan and seigokan also have fast kicks. If you never trained and compare any of these Martial arts, and just watch Muay Thai, you will only know it and won't know the comparisons.

Yeah, getting knocked out (especially this hard) tends to change a fighter. It becomes more likely to happen again too.
If that was an experienced Muay Thai referee, he would have been diving towards GP’s head to try and keep it from hitting the canvas. For those of us who’ve been to Lumpinee or Rajadamnern stadium to watch Muay Thai fights would have seen it done many times. All combat sports referees should learn and practice this skill. Speedy recovery to GP. You are still one of the greats.
@@lex.cordis Yes, after the brain experiences trauma like this, it makes the fighter more susceptible to being KO'd as the brain learns to protect itself from more trauma and shuts off when it experiences anything like the same in the future. I think it is a survival instinct. You see it in boxing; when a fighter gets beaten up or KO'd bad, their chin gets 'weaker' in future fights
