Every gardener wants his lawn to be an emerald green. But not everyone has the opportunity to buy expensive complex fertilizers with a full range of micro and macro elements. And here we come to the aid. Fertilizing the lawn with saltpeter is not an expensive one-component fertilizer.
The fact is that this one component "Nitrogen" is a volatile substance and, as a rule, is present in the soil in 99 percent of cases.
in minimal quantities. And the lawn requires it in very large volumes. Green emerald lawn surface and especially its color
directly depends on the content of nitrogen in the soil. Nitrogen deficiency is usually observed already in the first - second month of lawn operation.
As for the application of ammonium nitrate to the lawn, I recommend applying it once every three weeks at the rate of 3-4 kg / 100m2 (if on the site
there is an automatic watering system). When watering the site manually, you can feed the lawn less often, 1 time in a month and a half with the same
dosage 3-4 kg/100m2
Useful advice: Ammonium nitrate will help if you urgently need to make the lawn green enough for three to four days after application.
VERY IMPORTANT:
1) Water the lawn abundantly immediately after fertilizing.
2) Saltpeter is a very aggressive fertilizer, do not overdo it with the dosage.
3) Pour saltpeter into a container on a hard, dry surface where it can be swept away unlike a lawn where it will be difficult to clean
and your lawn will burn in this place.
4) If you accidentally overdosed on saltpeter, there is only one way to save the lawn in excess of abundant irrigation.
the amount of water will reduce the concentration of nitrogen and flush it into the lower layers of the soil.
5) For a more even distribution of saltpeter, apply in a cross way at half the dose in one pass.
Action plan:
First you need to choose a convenient container. For this I use a small bucket with a capacity of 5 liters. We collect fertilizer in a bucket.
If the saltpeter is old and hardened a little, then take a small blunt object, such as a hammer, and gently stir
saltpeter to a free flowing state.
It is best to fertilize your lawn before it rains. If rain is not expected in the near future, the fertilized lawn should be plentifully
spill water from a sprinkler - create artificial rain.
The lawn should be fertilized in this way: we scoop up the required amount of fertilizer with our hand and straighten the arm from the chest,
as sharply as possible, i.e. we sow with a fan method from ourselves.
Granules of ammonium nitrate should be sifted evenly over the lawn. Do not allow the granules to accumulate in small piles.
This can cause the grass to burn out.
After completing the work, empty the unused fertilizer back into the bag. Hide the bag in a dry and dark place. Wash the bucket
and do not use it for other purposes, especially for children to play with. Wash your hands well with soap.
Let's get to the second part. Water the lawn with sprinklers throughout the area. Prevent water and streams from accumulating on the lawn.
It can also lead to undesirable consequences.
The effect will not come immediately. It will take a little while. It will arrive in 3-4 days. The grass will begin to grow rapidly and will
have an emerald color.
This procedure can be carried out once a month. I fertilize the lawn with saltpeter once every three weeks.
After these procedures, my lawn looks amazing. I will say more, in those places where there used to be slight bald patches,
grass began to grow and bush. An emerald lawn with such a simple fertilizer is provided to you.
