Nothing beats the Skin Aqua moisture milk for me. I order it on stylevana (usually 5 at a time). It's so great and doesn't make my eyes sting!! That was the biggest problem for me finding a good sunscreen. Thank you for your recommendations.
I recently purchased the Rohto Mentholatum Skin Aqua Sunscreen Super Moisture Gel Pump SPF 50+ PA++++ (140g) after seeing great reviews online. I had stopped using Japanese sunscreens for a while because the alcohol and octinoxate in them irritated my eyes and skin. However, this sunscreen didn't cause any irritation. It has a watery, lightweight texture that's easy to apply, but it did make my face quite shiny. On the plus side, it didn't cause any breakouts and felt soothing. Despite wearing sunscreen consistently, I usually get a light tan in the summer. Unfortunately, after being outside on a sunny day for about 20 minutes past 6 PM, my face and neck developed a darker tan with some redness. This sunscreen doesn't seem to provide adequate protection against UV rays.
Dr Dray, you need to try Dr. Plant waterproof moisturizer sunscreen lotion spf50+. Made in China for Japanese market, 50g for $5. probably the best one in a long time. Friends all over the world tried it and every single one of them was singing praises.
As someone with combination skin (leaning on the dryer side), I LOVEEE the Scinic Enjoy Super Mild Sun Essense! It feels just like moisturizer, so I have no problem reapplying throughout the day, plus it's super affordable! I'm very picky about sunscreen, but I'm on my third bottle of this!😊
HaruHaru is the best!! -- at least for me. In my 60s using tretinoin. I usually don't wash my face in the morning. The HaruHaru goes on easy & keeps my face looking great all day.
I would love it if you reviewed some of the vacation brand sunscreens! Their marketing is so fun but I would love to hear how the products actually work
I just got the LRP uvmune400 liquid from stylevana and I just put it on for the first time and it made my face sting and burn, and my lips. I’m so disappointed bc I needed that uva protection 😭

I would love for Dr Dray to make a video addressing what smoking does to the skin. I have a family member who's gotten into skincare and wants to stop her premature skin aging but has been smoking for years and keeps making excuses for why it's not the smoking messing up her skin.
Dr Dray has addressed smoking in her videos like, 5 things you should never do to your skin and eight ways to stay looking young for life. She also has a vaping video. Also, pretty much every derm and even plastic surgeon with an anti-aging video is going to caution against smoking.
Nicotine addiction is gnarly & people have to want to quit themselves in order to be successful. Everyone who smokes has heard hundreds of times that smoking is wrecking their looks. The risk of lung cancer & other lung/medical diseases are more dangerous than aging.
The only sunscreens that don't burn my eyes like crazy are the littllextra riceberry sunscreen ones. Other brands I’ve tried make me wash my face after 5 minutes because it burns so bad-even if I avoid getting it close to my eyes! So if you're experiencing similar issues, try it. I love using it along with the Riceberry face wash and face serum as it completes my skincare routine and my face looks beautiful and spotless with those.

Happy Saturday, Doctor Dray! Can I tell you how much I appreciate you? I really appreciate you, the medical information that you share with us. I feel so very empowered when making my skin care decisions - thank you! Hearing what ingredients do and don't do is huge when going out there to purchase products! I am 66 years young. I've taken care of my skin and I've used sunscreen since I was 28 years old. Yes, 38 years. I will tell anyone who chooses not to wear sunscreen, that is the biggest mistake you are making. I always seek shade in the summer as well as larger hats. I have been using Korean sunscreen for one year. The difference that I've noticed is incredible! When I compare K-Beauty Sunscreen to what we have been used to buying - it's evident to me that they are light years ahead. Pure luxury and performance! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and science with us! I had a lady stop me today at Costco to ask what my skin care routine was. It kind of made my day. I told her I was 66. Love from Canada!
Glad to hear you didn't sustain much damage after those nasty storms this week! I always check out your sunscreen videos--thanks for making so many of them. I have to say I tried the iUNIK sunscreen after your recommendation and, unfortunately, it has a "flashback" cast (looks white under flash) on my skin tone. Great video! I have tried most of these sunscreens and all of them are great. I have combination and sensitive skin. Only the Haraharu one did make my eyes burn a little bit. Plus I think they all wear great under the makeup, for makeup Canmake is just the one I wish they made it in bigger tubes! ❤

I'm very happy. I think i found a sunscreen that will work for me. Neutrogena clear face 50 spf. No oxybenzone (cause that stuff burns). I think it totally depends on who you ask. People in the “clean” Beauty community would probably say yes it is toxic. But you have to consider where their information is coming from. If it’s from lab results that are done on animals and they’re using 100 times the amount of the specific chemical in order to produce these bad health outcomes I don’t think it’s really a good example of what a much smaller, more reasonable amount of that ingredient, will do to a human when it’s mixed with a bunch of different ingredients. I think it’s been a lot of fear mongering to influence people to buy supposedly clean beauty products.
What happened to paba. It influences collagen synthesis and thus daily sunscreen was making a difference. But apparently it’s cancerogenic. Especially as sunscreen. I have a bag wanted to experiment.
Dr., I want to take up (indoor) swimming but I'm worried about the potential damage to my skin due to the chlorine in the water. Is there anything I can do to prevent (and eventually reverse) damage?
I recently purchased the iunik sun cream. I have used many Korean brands before but I found this one really greasy and it makes my eyes itchy. I have also tried to use Stylvanna but unfortunately, for HK they only have Mandarin in their Application what is a shame.
Thank you for the recommendation for the site! Could you do a similar video but for shampoos? I feel that the European market has nothing to offer for my very coarse hair and itchy scalp and I want to look to the Asian market.
Dr Dray (and even other derms) have talked about alcohol in products including sunscreens (she's got a video on alcohols). In the case of sunscreen, it helps it feels less greasy.
For the round lab, if you have birch pollen allergy can you use products that contain birch? Not sure if the allergy goes beyond the pollen I know you should patch test everything new but just curious.
Oh man I needed this yesterday. Earlier this week I realized my Numbuzin Sun Essence is no longer available anywhere. And Skin1004 also seems out all over. Do you happen to know if anything changed with the filters allowed in the US? I know sometimes not everything is available here, so wondering if something new happened. I ended up purchasing Haru Haru last night and I think I may try the Beauty of Joseon on as well
Can u please tell which korean sunscreen is best to use after microneedling prp for acen scars? Currently I'm using skin 1004 hyalu cica sunscreen (still more dewy moisturizing) as it's really hot and humid in my country
Dr Suarez , I would like you to react to Jimmy Dore’ s show about skin cancer and sunscreens. He has been spreading some information that I consider false and some that made me question some things. Especially since you talked about skin cancer earlier this week. There are so many people who watch him and I think this is very serious.
Can you store your tretinoin/tazarotene tube in the fridge? Will it extend shelf life? Or is the cold temperature going to alter my tretinoin/tazarotene?
With a lot of skincare, storing in a cool, dark, dry place isn't a bad thing. The only things I've heard Dr Dray say storing in the refrigerator is fine are the eye gels/pads (can help with depuffing) and lotions (in the case of folks who have itchy skin or a bug bite) but it doesn't have to stay in there.
Are all of these good for the body too? Does one need a separate sunscreen for body v face? Is the beauty of Joseon sunscreen still one of your favorites as well? I’m trying to decide what to try first. I have always had a terrible time with sunscreens burning my eyes to the point of blurring my vision bad enough to make me unable to see. Also, I do think I have seborrheic dermatitis like you mentioned. I got a little confused on which one you said was best for that, but I will listen to the video again.
That’s right, you totally can use your face sunscreen anywhere else, but it’ll be insanely expensive. What I do is I use my favorite on the face, the one I buy for face but it didn’t sit right with me on the neck and ears and chest (like this iunik one in the video, it’s on the greasy side for me, but it’s still cosmetically elegant and more pleasant on the neck than majority of body ones). And I’m using something cheaper for the rest of my body.
Hi! Thanks for your content! I’d like to incorporate a Vit C into my routine and there’s even more affordable ones on Amazon as low as $10 such as Skin 2.0 and Eve Naturals to name a couple but I’m curious on your opinion. I couldn’t find any reviews on those from you. Have you tried/heard of them and if so, what’s your thoughts on efficacy? Thanks!
Dr Dray is pretty neutral on vit c serums. She's also said the Skinceuticals is the one with the studies and research behind it and tends to recommend that one when asked. Some of these on Amazon tend to also have fragrance.
Greetings Dr Dray hope u r well n 🖐Hello Every1 n Happy Friday😀n what a Wonderful Vid…. thanks n This is Gonna b so Cool cause Sunscreen is a Must🧴🔥👍n Continued Blessings to All💜…..
I would love to know if these are water resistant and dormgow long. I find that Korean and Japanese spfs are often not water resistant or hard for me to find out if they are water resistant ans for how long.
The only thing that worries me is on a lot of these wonderful feeling Asian sunscreens I can’t find all the ingredients. How do we know the percentage of each ingredient and what ingredients they are using? I have not purchased Asian sunscreens due to this reason. Unfortunately. The one I have feels absolutely lovely though. I don’t use it because I need the percent of each ingredient listed to where I can actually read it. How do we know the PA plus rating is accurate? I’ve heard of several Asian sunscreens being pulled from the shelves due to there being no sufficient coverage.
Canada requires sunscreens to protect against both UVA and UVB rays, as well as a Drug Identification Number because the claim being made is medical. Also requires bilingual packaging, a costly deterrent. Many vendors aren't going to create special packaging for.a single market that's not particularly huge. 🇨🇦
HELP! I ordered and paid for (charged to my Visa) more than six weeks ago. It’s still not here and I haven’t received any follow up email or tracking info. Starting to wonder if it’s going to come at all 😢. Anyone else experiencing this? Is this normal? Please let me know 🙏
If it's Stylevana, they have the worst reviews. I thought about ordering from them until I started reading reviews. They like to take your money and then you have to wait weeks if not months for order. Some people don't ever receive it or get their money back. And I guess it's damn near impossible to get a hold of anyone in customer service.
Yes, it’s Stylevana - just re-read my post and I’m horrified at what a poor job I did. Sounds pretty bleak 😭. I hope Dr Dray is made aware and stops recommending them. She makes it sound like it’s easy-peasy, greatest thing ever. I so appreciate you responding to my post. Thank you 🌸
The thing I've heard about ordering from k-beauty sites is to make sure the item you're ordering is actually in stock at the time you place your order. Aliceintherabbithole has videos on best ways to order from k-beauty sites, nothing being foolproof.
First order came in 3 weeks. Second one (my last) took nearly 3 months. Like you, they charged my credit card almost immediately. Nope, will never order from them again.
@@VerticallyBlessed1 it makes me mad when I see TH-cam dermatologist/ influencers recommend them. They are notorious for ripping people off. I order from Amazon ( I'm in the US ) and I noticed that all the popular K Beauty sunscreens are no longer available. I'm afraid to order outside of the US because of fear of getting ripped off. I can understand waiting 2 to 3 weeks but months....thats unacceptable. I can't remember if it's YesStyle but if you place an order and 1 item is out of stock they won't ship your purchase until that item comes back in stock. So you could be waiting months for your order that you paid for. That's ridiculous

@@db-gb5xi OK, thank you. Actually, I guess I was mostly thinking of the cost factor and that face sunscreens usually come in a little tiny bottles.
@@AnastasiaChekhova great, thank you so much! Since I learned how much sunscreen I’m actually supposed to use, I’m going through it really fast!

Happy Friday Whitney Brown. Have a lovely day and be well. Enjoy the weekend.
Greetings d b hope u r well n Happy Friday😀👍💜….
As always, I loved the video Dr. Dray! I’m glad to see my current fav-isNTree-on your list of recommendations 🤗
I would love to know if these are water resistant and dormgow long. I find that Korean and Japanese spfs are often not water resistant or hard for me to find out if they are water resistant ans for how long.
The Isntree stick is water resistant.
The code is not working for me 😭😭😭
It’s like she has access to my brain 😅
I appreciate the information but I’m trying to buy American products when possible. Any suggestions?
In another Dr Dray video from a few months ago on combination skin, she recommended Neutrogena Purescreen and DRMTLGY Universal Tint SPF 46.
Canada has banned the sale of Korean Sunscreens:(
Canada requires sunscreens to protect against both UVA and UVB rays, as well as a Drug Identification Number because the claim being made is medical. Also requires bilingual packaging, a costly deterrent. Many vendors aren't going to create special packaging for.a single market that's not particularly huge. 🇨🇦
😳 I would freak out. My skin LOVES the skin1004 centella sunscreen. 100% can't beat the K brands for my face.
I have ordered Beauty of Josean SPF 50 online from the States. Ordering is not banned. Just selling here is not allowed.
Isn’t it the same situation as in the USA?
