Sarcasm and humor is the easiest way to hide the truth, to basically give their praise and thanks to the evil that got them where they are without letting the public know. I remember seeing that interview with Bob Dylan on 60 minutes when it originally aired. Even though I was agnositic/atheist at that time in my life, that interview still made me feel really uncomfortable; I remember sitting there thinking "did he just imply that he sold his soul to the devil???"

There are things I would very much like to achieve or acquire. But selling the soul to the devil to get it? No way. Not worth it, and even if you did enjoy 60-80 years of success as a result, there will come a day when the devil says "Okay, a deal is a deal, come on down now.".
