Your Upper Red Lake guide online helped me get on the ice last month at Beacons Harbor after driving solo from Indiana for a spontaneous MN trip. Thank you so much for all the info, I caught over 20 walleyes the first day there lol.

Thank You Nicole. Good job on reviewing the Pursuit. I like how you maybe pointed out something that was an improvement but could be slightly better. Makes it show you were giving your honest opinion and review. Still wondering if an underwater camera is worth the additional cost for ice.fishing which is the only fushing I do other than fly fishing for trout, since I do not have a boat. I love the LX5 which I have had for years. I know the Pursuit will help you, just like you said, with seeing what is really going on under the ice. As you are probably aware, Our Yahara Chain of Lakes have unbelievable algae blooms due to the extremely high levels of Phosphorus in the water. A friend of mine has an underwater camera and he has a hard time using in because we have such poor water clarity. I would like to see how the Pursuit camera looks in our stained algae lakes.
Can't help with stained lakes this winter but we have a few lakes that are VERY susceptible to pollution and summer algae issues - will test that out this summer for you for sure.

I see its a little bit bumpy and I don't think they make a fin for this specific camera but I can't imagine it would be too difficult to come up with something to smooth it out a little bit when trolling. The cable looks much beefier than the main competitor's reel style unit.
Sunlight readable 1280 x 720 Pixels 1920 x 1080p Full HD Sensor Resolution So doe this mean the screen your looking at is 1280x720 And recording is 1920x1080?

I currently own a VS485c and was looking to get an HD camera for my IC. You mentioned a bit more range with the Quest, do you mean distance? For people who primarily fish and use cameras in a wheel house, do you have a recommendation when it comes to the camera quality? I know the VS and Quest both have Sony cameras, but I'm not finding specs on the Pursuit. Maybe a side-by-comparison of the VS, Pursuit and Quest in the near future?
Very nice review. However, MarCum's price point is a little steep. If it came in at the $400 mark I believe there would be more solid interest. I like the features of the camera, but at that price point, I would rather purchase a new sonar/fish finder for under the ice. Thanks again for the review. The videos take a lot of time and effort to produce, so your time is appreciated. Tight Lines.
Maybe I missed it but what about the quality of the picture in different depths of water? I'm sure at 4 feet in clear water it's good. What about 10 feet or even 20 feet of water on a clear lake?

Is there a port u can hook up with your android phone to record from the unit and I fish very merky waters and what do u think with this in merky waters and I also don't know if the other lakes are clear or not. Good review. Love that they put a reel on it. I asked Marcum if they have plans to add a reel to the Recon. Nothing yet.

I beat the crap out of it and it's holding up well. Rammed it into about 20 rocks lol
How does one pan or rotate the camera? Is it as simple as twisting the cord that attaches to it? Thanks

Correct. But note that according to their web site and the manual, the video output port is only HD (720p / 1280 X 720)

It's going to be very similar - I don't have the Revolution 5.0 to compare - although I might look into doing a comparison in the future!
