Wow...this was so emotional for me. Where do I begin...? This was my home town; the place where I grew up. Lived there from 1964 to 1998. So many memories of life spent on those very streets. Didn't realize it at the time but, those were the most wonderful years of my life.
It used to be a great place to live and to work! They killed it completely there. I grew up there and all the city people moved in with their money, Unreal i left there 25 years ago and never looked back. When Mayor Bonnie died that was it and they said when he died it would become another Rockland county and it did. Got family there still. We used to know he Harriman kids go ride 4 wheels there and the family got kicked out years ago there then the old mansion burned down. We used to fish there as well. Now you got walmart target and so on. No more mountain charm left. just another suburb of NYC now.
I have lived here since 1985. I don't know what time of the day this video was shot but it's never that quiet and slow here. On your average day the main drag is jumping. When everybody is home from work rush hour, holidays,...etc you can sit at that light for two cycles.
I lived in Monroe in the 1970s.
It was a great town to spend my teen years in.
So did my father. He has so many fond memories. I love hanging around Monroe with him it's like he's right back my age telling me stories of that era.
@@defoperator7993 HOw was it in the 70s?
I lived there from 68’- 74’ on Spring Street
