Those games were insane and probably one of the most skill intensive finals ever, that rogue multi turn perfect lethal and intentionally sacrificing the infinite for the long term win. You can say that hearthstone is RNG, but that was one of the most well played and well deserved finals wins I've ever seen.
Yeh, when Hearthstone has the right amount of wacky, it's a really fun and amazing game. The main problem is how this kind of high skill play is never really going to happen with most of the playerbase
I'm currently top 150 with cycle rogue and I've never thought of that line lmao. like I've def incindius into oracle but specifically setting it up the way he did with the step I would not have seen that.
I see a lot of people completely shitting on the state of the game right now, but these games were genuinely pretty diverse lineup-wise and extremely entertaining. Armor warlock in the champ's winning lineup is awesome, and the game 5 finale was absolutely CRAZY. Really glad things turned out so well and I'm hoping for more!
@cumindragon yeah I like the different archetypes of all decks, but don't like the execution of them for casual players. Also keep in mind in ranked people can play 1 deck over and over again. So the variety on ladder as less
Has one mana. Has one drop in a boardcentric deck. Stares at screen with intensity. Let's rope burn down. Plays one drop, passes. I'm glad he figured it out eventually.
I understand the game state is pretty crazy right now with what happens but Yanming played so freaking well, actual giga brain plays that won him the games. Hunter doing all that is batshit crazy but still required him to play very smart. Fury on the other hand had much simpler game plans. He showed some creativity with the Druid given that he didn't get braindead Dungar which is why the game played out so long but Yanming had to really think through the plays to survive the Druid.
That was actually a ton of fun to watch! Surely my position is unique as someone who doesn't have Hearthstone-playing friends to watch these competitions with, but that gave me what I was missing.
There was an out last turn with playing the Rager first, playing the 1 Mana spell -> it hitting the taunt and the Rager following up, breaking though the +3/+3 buff and then clearing the ceaseless with the 20/20 peddler. Only a 4% chance of hitting it but better than nothing
You are right but Furyhunter said in an interview that he thought Freezing Trap was up, his deck tracker bugged out with the possible secrets. Would be impossible to live with Freezing since either your Rager gets debuffed or your 20/20 gets debuffed by getting returned to hand. Very unlikely to make a difference though if he did the right play, because not only would he have to hit the 4%, but he would also have to topdeck a demon that wins the very next turn since Yanming can clear one with Star Power and put a taunt up with the weapon.
Warlock making 24 armor on turn 7 into another 24 armor on turn 8 with another in the chamber and cookie the following game would blow peoples minds if we just sent this video back a few years. Lol
Years ago I only watched the official channel for worlds. Now I think I trust you guys more. I see you weekly and know that you know what you're talking about. Great plays and greetings to the champion!
the first match was just hearthstone in a nutshell "I have done everything right and played perfectly, but the other guy got lucky and blizzard prints cards for that bullshit"
Wtf? Thats so funny because shaman is the bullshit deck, furyhunter had little to no decisions to make in that game, while on the other hand warlock is a lot weaker and tougher deck to play, and yanming played that perfectly, where exactly did he get lucky?
It's 1 in 25 because both the spell and the Rager need to hit the taunt due to Bait and Switch (he can hero power to kill the taunt if the spell doesn't hit, but he takes too much damage then even if Ceaseless is killed). But you are right that's an out. The reason Furyhunter didn't do that is because he said in an interview that he thought Freezing Trap was up, his deck tracker bugged out with the possible secrets.
Hey Mr Rarran as a non-native english speaker I find it kinda hard to understand Roffle and you over the commentators. Had to leave stream and hoped VOD would have different audio, might be only me tho
In Hunter Vs Druid Furt should’ve attacked with the zilliax after filling his hand. Would’ve guaranteed the dead zilliax while also removing the freezing the from the game.
Ok, I didn't play hearthstone for 3 years, decided to have a look here, and the fist minutes are already fucking wild to me. Freeze warlock? Shaman that needs more coins? Did they run out of ideas and started mixing different classes?
actually, kinda? during the Perils in Paradise set this year each class got a "Tourist" card that allowed them to play the Perils cards another class received. Warlock got access to Death Knight's perils cards, which is why they had freeze. the Shaman was running Demon Hunter cards for the same reason
actually correction: the freeze card is a dual-class mage/warlock card (you take damage for each thing you freeze), but the freeze payoff card that drew him a bunch is a DK card
Fury had exactly 1 out on the last turn which he didnt seem to see, Urzul into the heartblossom both hit the taunt and then trade the peddler into ceaseless and hero power. Leaves him alive at 18 with a 20/5 and 11/11 on board. Yanming showing 15 on board (17 from the extra aggramar) so fury would have survived on 1 hp which gives him 1 extra turn to topdeck his way out of it. Sure its a 1/35 chance but this is hearthstone and we've seen greater odds than that come to fruition.
I love instant stabilization so much, it doesn’t feel terrible at all and it requires the highest skill to pull off, we need more cards that make one player instantly click concede please
I've never played or seen someone else play a bouncer on one side of the board and make the minion on the other side of the board a copy. I don't know why I always thought it was the minion next to it. Lol
I wonder if the card designers look in the mirror and think "Im good at my job" I never tought we would see a more toxic state than stormwind, boy was i wrong.

a card that removes all of the opponent's armor? now you are just making stuff up
Can't believe people would just go on the Internet and make up cards
Next core set, Blizzard can actually add Plate Breaker as core card honestly

Dungar druid is the smooth brain deck other than that all the other decks took some knowledge to play
@cumindragon yeah I like the different archetypes of all decks, but don't like the execution of them for casual players.

This doesn't mirror ladder at all, maybe top 100 ladder, but if isn't obvious, the great majority of players aren't on top 100...

@@henrimasquelin6424 2 20% chances, 1 on the heartblossom and 1 on the urzul. So .2 x .2 = .04

Yanming actually play very well, especially for last game using Hunter VS Druid.

rarran roffle combo is the best. please do this more often !
Ngl I was really hoping for a 21/23 Doomguard at the end
