  • Get to know this 7.2-km out-and-back trail near Lake Louise, Alberta. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 11 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, snowshoeing, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
The Castle Mountain Lookout Trail is a great hike that has a relatively accessible difficulty. This hike doesn’t have any technical sections, which makes it a great option for trail running. The route is short but follows a gradual incline the whole way to the top with some steep sections. Much of the trail is shaded by a forest with some breaks in the tree cover that allow for great views. Near the end of the trail the path becomes narrow and there is a bit of a climb through tight passages, as well as some scrambling sections.
During the winter, this is an excellent hike overall. The snow is mostly soft and slushy, so ice cleats are recommended. Early in the morning the ground will usually be icy. Since this is a great option for winter hiking, this area is typically busy in all seasons. Getting to the trailhead early increases the likelihood of finding a parking spot, which can be difficult most of the day.
Romans 1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
