So, while it is interesting to cover news ASAP, it is prudent to make sure everything can and will be revised before upload.
-Sur is neither "brazilian" nor portuguese (our language). It's spanish for south. In "brazilian" (portuguese) it would be Sul.
-That peso shown besides the Real is not an Argentinian Peso.
-The graph shows Arg. Peso against Phil. Peso.

Please ignore most of the information in this video, the authors clearly didn't bother to research the proposal. The common currency is not meant to be used inside of Argentina and Brazil's economies, it's meant to serve as a substitute for the dollar in import/export transactions. Both economies will maintain total control of their monetary policies, but this will allow for transactions to take place without the need for foreign reserves in a currency that neither country controls.

Mercosur should remove all internal tariffs between nation-states and fully adopt the EU-type of free movement of people, capital, goods, and services in order for a common Mercosur currency to work out as intended. Having a common currency with Brazil leading it will be good for Argentina's economy in the long-run because Argentina's central bank cannot monetize its debt and then print money out of the thin air that causes hyperinflation right now.

It is very likely that Brazil and Argentina have control over the currency, the problem is that the current government of Argentina does not understand basic monetary theory so they are basically going to print until it is worth nothing, if the current government of Brazil allows it, it will also drag Brazil down with it, knowing that it is very easy to understand why Paraguay and Uruguay absolutely refused, we do not want a shared hyperinflation.

a common currency makes alot more sense for south american than a single currency, unlike europe which got to develope along similar lines due to the marshall plan after ww2, south america benefits from no prior economic harmonization. plus, they are far more reliant on the ability of their domestic currency to float than european countries were when the euro was adopted. having a second currency to fill the role the dollar currently does, while giving the south american countries more control over their non-domestic currency markets could do some real good.

Beside all that, they just about 45 millions which could be compared to an amount of population of one State of Brasil (a bigger one, comparing it to São Paulo or Minas Gerais). I think is not relevant to have bilateral interests measure equally and even making us to call our currency with a Spanish name or even giving it up of our own.

    Factual error:
The Euro was available, in electronic form, along the national currencies for years before the switch. This is not a difference. Once the actual bank notes were circulating there was a period that prices were indicated in both, and the old currecy could be converted to Euro for years (I think 10).
You are missing fiscal issue. Euro zone is based on some fiscal constraint the countries must adhear to. Otherwise the biggest economies in the block can use fiscal policies that affect the whole and cannot be countered by the smallers partners. This is indipendent of external shocks.
Example: what happen if one big country in the group decide to borrow a lot to boost the economy (like Liz)? If its economy is big enough it will affect all. That is why the Euro zone has fiscal rules on what is allowed and what isn't and conflict resolution mechanism.
There is another way to lock two countries exchange: peg your currency to the other or use directly the other currency. Small countries do both, usually with USD. The difference is that you can undo it unilaterally as you did when setting it up. But you do get negative effect on loans etc when splitting.
