600 Drones Illuminate Santa Monica Beach for Super Mario Bros. Movie Premiere

- Six hundred drones lit up Santa Monica Beach in a spectacular drone light show to celebrate the release of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie"! The computer-animated adventure film, based on the beloved Mario video game franchise, starred an impressive ensemble of voice actors including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Sebastian Maniscalco, Charles Martinet, and Kevin Michael Richardson.
The collaboration between Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal resulted in the highly-anticipated movie, which premiered in Los Angeles on April 1, 2023, and was released in the United States on April 5, 2023, followed by Japan on April 28, 2023.

I had absolutely no idea that drones could be choreographed so precisely. Marketing this decade is going to be on another level.
In China this technology with drones as fireworks has been around for years, but the Western media doesn’t show it… China also has Self driving cars and buses already on the streets(the richer cities). Quite amazing what tech can do! Hopefully the West also replaces harmful fireworks with reusable drones

It took 30 years, but finally a Mario movie that is a worthy adaptation.
it was pretty meh honestly, a good kids movie but it was no puss in boots 2 or into the spiderverse. was it better than the original? sure but the bar was set super low. i honestly though the mario 3 cartoon was a pretty good adaptation of mario

A friend and I watched this together. We think this will start to replace fireworks. There could be drones that play sounds that shift around a crowd. Theoretically dangerous, but not as much as explosives.🎉

Now this is what I call "welcome to the future".
Fireworks are a thing of the past when you can put out spectacular 3d displays that actually display and do stuff the possibilities are endless and this is a more environmentally friendly way to do it
Yeah but it needs to move a lot faster so it can be more exciting
Add in some speakers on the drones and you could have some awesome displays with surround sound on another level 🔥🔥

This is the less noisier, less harmful, less dangerous firework replacement! I wish I got to see it in person
It can do so much more than fireworks. The drones are reusable and could be moved from place to place. It's safer for people in China than living with fireworks factories in their cities. A friend from China told me that, ironically, people in large cities in China can't use fireworks due to population density. She was surprised that we can (illegally where I live) use them at home.
