Assalumu Alaikum brothers and sister's. I accepted Islam when Allah(swt) chose me to do so. I knew of it in Chi-town,but i wasn't ready. But when i was going thru "trials".I asked God to guide my life, and i knew that Allah(swt) was guiding me in the right direction. All good situations have happened for me after taking my Shahadah. Alhumdulillah
I took Shahada with an African Imam in NYC. The big Islamic Center in Manhattan. The Imam is back African, and very friendly (although understandably quite busy). He's very tall, hard to miss! I'm white, and the center is quite mixed with Muslims from literally around the world.
No one has White skin , pale ? yes , white , no ! You know not what's in a man's heart but you can rest assure Racial Bigotry exist within your ranks !
This is a very informative video! As Muslims, we should always speak out against injustice and ignorance if possible; no matter how uncomfortable it makes others feel. As for those who have immediate objections to this information- ask yourself, does Dr. Quick's information coincide with the facts of history? If yes, why do you object? Are you not for truth? - Thank you Dr. Quick.
Shalom, Islam (etymological root *_SLM_* ) simply means to submit. I submit to the One True Living G*d of Israel. The LORD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob otherwise known as Avraham (Ibrahim), Yitzhak (Ishaq), and Yaacov (Yacub). I believe that Christ is the only begotten Son of G*d I believe in the the Messiah who was born of the Virgin Maryam Meriam (Mary) through the Holy Spirit of G*d sent to give up his communion with His LORD and my LORD. I believe that Jesus completely and without earthy sin, submitted His will to the Will of the Heavenly Father- His Adonai His Rabb so that we as believers are redeemed by grace through faith unto to good works. We don’t earn salvation. Indeed no amount of righteous acts are adequate but we still strive to live like HIS chosen people in faith that we may be saved from the true and fair penalty for sin: eternal separation from our Lord. I believe Messiah is coming again on the Day Judgement Day to judge the living and the dead. Yeshua (Eisa SA) intercede to Allah SWT on Yawm ad-Din in the Torah and Yawm at-Qiyamah in the Q’ran. I believe in, pray to, and worship and pray to THAT G*d. *HE who has no name and all names, blessed be HE.*
@dr.judeAEmason I'm so happy your eyes are open, my dear sister. May God continue to guide you. I must let you know that Islam, SLM, does not mean submit. That is a skewed translation. It actually means peace or "the action of peace"
@@mohammedmassaquoi3444 Agreed. That is one meaning of the root slm as in Shalom, Salam, and Islam. السلام عليكم ورقمه الله وبركاته my brother. Peace and blessing upon all those who call upon the LORD.
Thank you for this discussion. It's so unfortunate to see dismissive comments below. It is clear they have not even watched the full 17 minutes and came just to cause argument.
Exactly, what Dr.Quick describes can directly be traced to the lingering effects of COLONIALISM and while we Muslims can see it, it's even worse among Non Muslims and especially among people who don't belong to any religion! Naturally drug use, prostitution, murder and all sorts of crimes are worse where ever people feel like strangers within their own countries!
@@pulsarstargrave256 The ills you mention are bad in many so called Muslim nations. They are just hidden. Be careful with notions of Muslim exceptionalism.
@@Shadiya1100 Growing up in The West has taught me not to trust any human being 100 percent and especially not colonialists, who are always full of excuses rather than friendship!
i'm a christian from birth (still believe in it's values). Learnt a good amount of Islamic history, and believe with time and education we can all agree on what's right and wrong to our fellow humans regardless of skin color, social hierarchy, and ethnicity
Fajr prayer on time is equal to success all the time, All the five daily prayers are equally important..Recite Ayat Al Kursi after every Salat so that Allah will protect you always....
Zoro very true, pakistanis and Arabs are the worst racist yet they pray 5 times a day reading the quran that preaches equality and brotherhood. I love Islam but I don't like Muslims, very judgemental, hypocrites and racist, sit shoulder to shoulder in the mosque; after mosque back to superior, they will never accept a black man dating their daughters but they abuse ours.
this is so true. Since the day I took my shahadah I feel like I have been treated like I am some kind of royalty and am I such a great person, And I feel like it is because I am a western Caucasian person. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. I am no better than any other Muslim.. and to be honest I feel like I am a very poor example of a Muslim..
The Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him always, warned us that racism would be the last part of the earlier time of ignorance that is left among the religious community of Islam.
If the Muslim Ummah continues down this path of discrimination and racism towards African American Muslims, we should build our own. Period. We are familiar with rejection, and it doesn't matter. Ameen.
If you would show more respect to your fellow black women and stop obsessing over women of other races you will be on equal footing. That's the solution. Love your own. Listen to Dr. Umar J.
I had experienced the color preference statement. An egyptian woman said of me to a non Muslim European why supporting my position instead of accepted what she said? I was shocked because i brought her to the table. It is a very common occurrences which should not be the case.
As a black persone who was born and raise in north africa and live within the ideology of Muslims and arab speaking country I understand what you felt .. any dark skins in here always take backlash, insult or get fun off for no reason weather you where a child or an adult your not save and if you try to defend yourself 100% they wil use religion to defend their doing or straight up gaslight you
@@madnessanimation6519 unfortunately, in spite of being on the right faith, Islam, you see Muslims across the spectrum of skin hues and ethnical affiliation would almost behave as if they are outside the fold of Islam. Money and influence will push this to the fore in a minute. It is sad really. I struggle against this and I don't want to be categorize as a person that anyone will have the right to say it would have been better if he never existed in my life. We pray that Allah improve us. Aameen. While Muslims are struggling around the world, not only in Palestine or China or India or Maynamar,.Kashmir and Russia, Muslims are suffering oppressions in the hands of.muslins, too. This is why lack of unity allows the enemies to have one over us at least as we can see it playing out right now.
I have experienced this kind of racial engagement in the Nation of Dubai when i had looked at a sign, and I had realized that it was a prayer room for men of the Islamic faith, and although I did not enter the prayer , and had read, and understood what the sign had read a man of Arabic Descention was exiting the prayer room as i was reading the sign had harshly questioned me about what I was doing in front, and on the side front of the entrance/ exit door passage of the prayer room , I answered in a stern, but civil way that i had realized that i was by the prayer, but i was searching for the men rest room, but his mannerisms towards was inappropriate, and unnecessary by him, and I had realized in that moment that there was a possible colorism, and possible racism as well in many of the Islamic Nations.
You know NOTHING ABOUT HISTORY, LANGUAGE, CULTURE OR RELIGION! THE WORD ISLAM MEANS HOLY LAND AND THE WORD MUSLIM MEANS MAN OF GOD. THEYRE OF AFRICAN DESCENT
I am in Turkey right now doing my studies am from West Africa the Gambia but when ever I went to the mosque people their are very surprise to see a Black man inside the mosque they will automatically ask you where are u from are you Muslim this every where in white Muslim society they don't know that western Africans too are Muslim and have played key role in Islam
Since most people in here do not know what Malcolm meant or was, I will say it here! NO, he was not a racist at his death! He made it clear that racism was illogical, but AMERICAN whites are a different breed altogether in GENERAL. Next, I am BLACK and MUSLIM and defend it to anyone. Arab racism has nothing to do with the fact that I believe in God and that the name for him is Allah. I also know that some of the greatest African empires were BLACK Muslims who were not controlled by Arabs. Black people who KNOW the TRUE history of Islam would be happy to be Muslim.
If you think about black people, abs our history, we have either started, or have been near the very begining of so much on this planet. But over time, our contributions get diluted, changed, or omitted. Africans are some of the most spiritual, and religious people on this planet. More focused on being apart of the land, rather than building things that separate us from the land. I wish more effort would be done to show what we have done to make this world what it is today. Technology, science, medicine, agriculture, we have been instrumental in all of it
I really agree with you, you're absolutely right. I think the problem or the reason why our efforts are being omitted is because we Africans have forgotten who we used to be. We must learn to respect ourselves and rebrand ourselves, because the way we treat ourselves will set the standards of how other people will treat us. I love Africa and I believe that the future is Africa. We need to keep enlightening ourselves about our rich history.
Allah will honor u in the land as long as u uphold his deen. Whether they hate it or what ...... The prophet Muhammad pbuh loved Usama AS he was very black made him army general at 18 years to lead Miltary expedition against Romans.
The dirty secret that they all know about. A Muslim I knew from Senegal went to Egypt for religious studies.he was quite dark and had dreads.he heard a few of the locals calling him names like monkey etc.what they didn’t know was that he spoke Arabic. When he confronted them they begged him for forgiveness, I know what I would have done.
I’m senegalese and my quran teacher is gambian and has been to Egypt ( he doesn’t have dreads but was already graduated in IT before going there), I’m not even telling you about all went through over there it’s really sad. He wasn’t even able to finish his studies.
Personally, I think non-white Muslims tend to underestimate the historical affect of European colonialism (thinking) on Muslim countries. Understanding historical context is very important.
I am a Muslim but every single thing that I see in the Christian world or the non believing world or the satanic world is exactly in the Muslim world so I don't understand why people think that it should be different
I have personaly been to Saudi Arabia you would be disgusted how muslims treat black and asian people. most buildings have 2 doors the Arab door & the black / Asian door.
Thanks for the video. hopefully this can shed light on racism in the muslin community. The wired thing about it is scholars hardly talk about it but have the gut to talk about white racism. I guess you have to clean the mess in your back yard first before talking about anything else.
I can’t believe my people( Somali) have that word Adon in our language . Its embarrassing and i can assure you that we are a vocal community and we always condone any other somali who thinks they are slick to use that word. We are all black accept it and praise it
Peace 1 that doesn’t make sense buddy ! Islam does not have racism in it . Where my people got it from is the western way of thinking . How the European used colorism to control and brainwash africans and colonized nation in the east to get them to go against their people. The arabs asians african and latinos all practise colorism . Its unfortunate how europeans managed to do it, but guess what its a new era and we are much more educated now.
@@stevenhulk3461 This makes no sense, there are black Arabs too. In Islam, if Arabic is your first language or mother tongue, then you are an Arab. How can you be an Arab cos you are a Muslim, yet don't speak Arabic.
Masha Allah, important topic... I am a happy listener to sheikh Hakim Quick, allways interesting and informative. Also in my city, Copenhagen Denmark,we have issues on race and nationality, sadly, I feel ashamed. People divide into groups of their own nations and make mosques. I can understand thst the the early mosques that were founded by the first emigrants in the 60ies are mostly visited by turks or pakistanies i or balkans, that was because of language and the like. But today there is no grounds for national divisions, but it is still there. I fight it in my own small way by going to a mosque that is founded, lead and used by brothers and sisters of all nationalities, turk, african, arab danish, amazighi, whatever. Alhamdulillah diversity exists.
It's wonderful that the truth is finally being taught. The Muslims were suffering under the same racist ideology as those in the west. Finally the truth is being taught! We will have to struggle with the false perceptions in the Muslim world also. I pray that at least the Muslims are now learning the truth about the many African companions and tribesmen of our beloved Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) who were in key positions of leadership and scholarship during the early days of Islam. TRUTH STANDS CLEAR FROM FALSEHOOD. ALLAH (SWT) IS PURIFYING HIS RELIGION!!
Islam has become much more cosmopolitan, but racism won't be kicked out for a few generations. Lots of tribalism still, but Morocco and Mauritania shows that cultures can intertwine over time.
These Asian and Arab brothers will address black people as brothers but would not want you to marry there daughters that would be left to the white converts
The biggest problem I have with African-American Muslims (Locals) is that among them there are numerous apoligists for the high degree of anti-black racism amonk Arabs and Asian Muslim in general. Lets face it, these people are racist and we Locals have to seperate ourself from them. The intervee just can't bring himself to call out these Arabs or Asians, don't know why.
To be honest, the most racism I experienced in my life was by black people. Also in the masjid, the most rude people I’ve seen are also black people. There was this one particular and most recent case I saw where a young man who had a mental problem was getting insulted while not disturbing anyone and they were mocking and making fun. We need to be realistic and understand that there isn’t any community free of racism and rude behavior and we can’t claim that black people are all victims because many of the time they also pull reverse racism on a lot of innocent people.
I’m in the NOI but the teachings have evolved, to respect all who respect black or white and everything in between, no racism just truth that has been verified
funny he spoke about saudi. I live here now and I have had people not want to sit next to me on the plane because I was black. Pretty sad, whats worst if I as An American would be called racist
@Heru Behudety we do not worship any creation but the Creator of all that exists and none has set their eyes on Allah ( Lord of the Universe ) .. besides why should my Creator look like me or any of His creation?
So many souls going to hell from racism. Well so much for heaven. God is not bothering with racist in his kingdom. We shall see who gods true chosen children are when he opens that sky and rain down that fire on folks. Let's see people keep that same hateful energy towards my people on the day of judgment.
@@kawazaki23 That is kinda racist in your part because the same whites and arabs you accuse of racism love their skin as much as you do. Neither them or you will have that light or dark skin forever. Only your soul gets to the after life.
All the non black people in the comments that claim to be Muslim always look over the point he made about white converts. Always very convenient of you.
I think the Dr is not familiar with the Somali and Ethiopian history, in particular, the Somali Bantu. I am a Somali Bantu or the so called Adon according to Some Somalis. The Somali Bantus were initially brought to Somalia by the Siyad Bare government. They were brought before that (the 19 century) by colonial powers but the majority of the Somali Bantus were later brought to Somalia by the Siyad Bare Government to help with farming and agriculture since most Somalis only rared animals and did not know how to farm or even farm. I lived in areas predominantly dominated by ethnic Somalis and I and my family we were treated good and most Somalis always helped and stood up for us. From both sides of my family; my grandparents from my dad's side came from Tanzania and my grandparents from mum's side came from Burundi. My grandfather along with other Tanzanians was brought by the Said Bare government and were givens good huge lands to farm and had support from the government. The Siyad Bare government was good to the Somali Bantus and protected them against any form of harm or harassment whether physical or discrimination and gave citizenship. I agree there is cultural racism among some Somalis but the Mosques have always denounced and outspoken against racism. The racism and the discrimination became more and more as a result of the collapse of the Siyad Barre Government. But with no state enforcement, the Mosques tried their best and continue to do so but could not and cannot eliminate the racism and the discrimination that has developed as a result of the collapse of Siyad Barre government. The mosques don't have capability or the power to counter such racism and discrimination. Only the government has power to counter and eliminate racism and discrimination. And until and unless we get a Somali a government that re-establishes anti racist laws and takes a tough stand against racism and discrimination, the Mosques alone can do nothing but only as always try their best speak out and denounce, and this will not be able to eliminate the racism and the discrimination that has developed as a result of the collapse of Siyad Barre government.
First and foremost, Somalis call and identify themselves as Somalis and the same with Habasha. Just like the Americans call and Identify themselves as Americans. As a matter of fact, we Somalis including Somali Bantu's and Ethiopians including Habasha face racism not only from Arabs but also from many others as well. There are bad apples, in other words, bad individuals in every nation and group. For this reason, I always oppose the generalisation, the smearing and the demonization of a whole nation based on what a few bad apples or bad individuals in that nation do or commit. It is imperative that the focus be on those bad individuals in every group and nation because this is the only best way to counter and eliminate those few bad ones with their bad ideas rather than generally smear and demonise the whole nation or group. As history has shown to be when you generally smear and demonise the whole nation or group based on what a few individuals in that nation or group commit, This leads to the bad apples or bad individuals in eventually gaining support from many of the good ones within that nation. So let's not generalise if we truly want to defeat and eliminate the bad apples or the bad indivduals with their bad ideas. Thanks.
Huu Ya actually the British and Italians bought Bantu people from Tanzania and Kenya because the Somalis refused to work for them. Somalis are kind people but even they have that minority hateful people.
MashaAllah may Allah grant you all paradise. Amen! Quran is a guidance for all of human being. Every one has the right to follow it . Even if it reveled by Arabic it's the guidance for human being. The answer for racist Quran 49:1-end is the answer for racism.
People think if u are talking about islam that means ARAB..though most of the islamic countries are in ASIA even more than the Arab countries...*our first mouzin was a BlAcK* he was our PROPHET(SAW) Fav person..I live in Pakistan and *my fav professor is from Nigeria*..though i have encounter two Black exchange students who are really rude but all of us talk to them with respect though i dun even know if they are muslim or not ...and thats what is real ISLAM
Interesting to hear about Islam before south Asian predominance of the religion. It was black Africans who saved the very first Muslims from death in Ethiopia. They were also instrumental in shaping and developing the religion. Yet so many Muslims don't know about the 1400 Arab slavery of Africans? It is a great shame and embarrassment to the Muslim world.
It is unfortunate that this must be addressed in The Ummah. To be in league with the ideologies of racist oppressors is anti Islamic and racists in the Ummah should be CHECKED as these are not Muslims.
السلام عليكم ! TEACH. TEACH. TEACH !!! TRUTH TRUTH TRUTH !!! i have witnessed some arab sisters who dont even greet or greet back... you know what it is JEALOUS, JEALOUS, JEALOUS
Christ says, in this world "Love your neighbour as yourself". "Love your enemies". "Bless those who curse you". "Pray for those who despitefully use you". Do these and all problems in this world disappear. Christ loves all people because He created us. So He teaches to love: not just "not hating ". But He also teaches eventual judgment against those rebellious and exploitative. "Love your enemy, bless those who curse you." But He also says " be wise as 'serpents' but innocent as doves'" So lets love but walk wisely among your enemies. I.e. "Do not cast your pearls before swine". Westerners Enslaved. Arabs and Ottomans also enslaved. So you cannot choose a faith based on resentment against the religion of your oppressor. That is a foolish choice.
I am studying Islam as the religion at this moment, maybe with the intent to converting. I am also looking at the "culture" side of it, but only through Black people (because I am black). I know that everyone can be racist, religious or not, spiritual or not, agnostic or not blah blah. But how do someone like me, (at his moment of my life I am agnostic) separate culture from religion, the racist fromthe religion/culture??. This may sound like a dumb question...But I am reading all these comments about this is an Arab religion (which to me...I don't necessary think so{so far}...still researching however)...and how Islam was brought to Africa through slavery..and all this other stuff. I am so confused. Because the more and more I read the Quran (alone and not the hadiths), I relate to it more and more. I have this weird connection...I just don't know. Those who believe in this religion or any, like Christianity...how do you justify yourself following a religion that was spread because of slavery?
There is no compulsion whatsoever. If you feel islam is okay go ahead and convert and if you feel is christianity then convert. But know that you would be answerable to God on the judgement day.
I was born and raised Muslim for 28 years and Islam is false believe it or not the Bible is the truth... and the Old Testament is black history black people are the real Jews....
Christianity was practiced in Africa well before slavery. I know exactly what you mean. I find that Arabs tend to look down at Pakistanis and I found that there's a bit of a conflict in identity between being south Asian and being a Muslim. Islam isn't an Arab religion, it is for everyone. It speaks to me on a deep level as well as I feel that it has concrete answers for every question I have. Just remember that there is a difference between religion and cultural practices. If people actually practiced Islam properly, the concept of race would actually be eliminated.
Shaniya Wordsmith Islam is not for the Arabs only. It's for everyone regardless of race. So just go ahead and embrace it. Whoever told you that Islam was spread in Africa through slavery lied to you. Slavery existed in Africa before Islam. Good luck
Sister, Islam has nothing to do with slavery, though you may have people who called themselves Muslims involved. I encourage you to study the life of Bilal ibn Rabah Al-Habashi (May Allah Be Pleased With Him). He was an Abyssinian (Ethiopian) former slave who became liberated by embracing Islam and became the first Mu'Adhan (One who calls people to prayer) and was the first Treasurer of the Islamic state and Governor of Syria along with his siblings just as Sheikh Quick has mentioned. People do certain things and abuse their faith. Judge people by Al-Islam, by Al-Qur'an, not the other way around.
I don’t know why he brings on India history. First let him explain what Islam says about slavery? Does Quran/Hadith exactly say slavery shout be banned and captured slaves should be either forced to convert or killed? What is the meaning of ‘what is possessed by your left hand’? Also after all Saudi banned slavery due to pressure from America / western old, not because Islamic teachings.
In the last days, eventually in stoppage time" Jesus, Muhammed, Buddha, All the Prophets in The Holy Quran, Bible, Torah, Buddhist and All the Saints like Martin Luther king Jr, Macolm X, Muhammad Ali, Bobby Marley, Fela Kuti will be present to Judge the world at large. . No More Hiding Places for Any Human Spicies Anymore. . Finally the judgment day is here. .
Arab means to grow dark Ach, Arab comes from the root Erev which means evening Ach. Erev Rav is the dark Egyptian multitude that went up from Egypt with Beth Yisra'el.
Exactly! The true Arabs and egyptian ppl are black & brown ppl , the only reason why there light Arabs today is due to the mixing of the European ppl for years and years
I wonder why such an educated African would continue believing Islam is the true Spiritual quest taught by our Great Ancestors. Islam does not deserve the Original African ethics taught by our Ancestors.
I am an educated African that chose Islam as my religion because it is the truth. Moses was AFRICAN and MUSLIM so yes i follow the truth taught by my ancestors
@@miriams3769 Sorry, I bet your parent chose that and you followed blindly. After researching, I ended up leaving it. Islam is the last spirituality for Africans.
@@miriams3769 Again, when we Africans talk of education, we mean the spiritual knowledge of self. And that is acquired as one grows and multiplies his/her life experience in the Universe. No Bachelor or PhD degree can equal that knowledge. So as this elder looks very mature with age, he is supposed to be well educated as regard to life experience and know that ISLAM is not AFRIKAN.
Any truth that is a universal truth cannot claim to be the property of one race of people. Even Islam was revealed to the Arabs *last*, because they were a dissolute and oppressed people, living in the shadows of Ethiopia, Persia, and Byzantium. The Qur'an says that Adam was Black. Muhammad (SAWS) said that Musa was Black, and so was the rightful successor of the Prophet, Ali. The fourth holy city of Islam is in Ethiopia, in Harar, and the first major king to revert to Islam was an Axumite, Najashi. We can love ourselves as Africans and acknowledge that all humanity originates from Africa, including its first ethical systems and scientific practices. But expecting the Lord of All Worlds to speak exclusively to African people, in a language that only we can understand, is turning your race into a religion, and this is a logical and moral failure. Arabic is the language of the Qur'an, but that means as much culturally as admitting that Greek letters are used for algebraic variables. It's incidental to the truth contained in the written symbols.
Please be honest I am black and African from Mauritania where white Arabs are slaving black Muslims like them. In 1991 Arab Muslims killed 28 black Muslims to celebrate November 28th Independence Day. There are lot of Islamic books I studied in 80s in Middle East to prove that slavery has been being practiced since the beginning of Islam till today Arabs and Muslims slavery against black in Middle East and North Africa was worse than western slavery against black. Please don’t try to be a nice guest to your host. I am in state, I understand Arabic and I hear and I see all times when I go to muslim stores of middle eastern, North African or central Asian how racist they are against black peoples, and at the same time they doing business and they own businesses in black neighborhoods.
Brother, am glad you are woke, I don't know if you know this or not, but the Quran supports the general feelings of the Arabs towards black people in a derogative way, and I am really peeved when I see any black persons trying to defend Islam, which is supposed to be their worst nightmare, am here wondering how could a people so trodden down by another, want to uphold and defend them . To my mind , these blacks really don't know the Quoran ,and what they are really defending, and this is so pathetic. But even if they don't know what really the Quoran says, don't they see how they are being treated by these people? But all come down to this one saying ,for the lack of knowledge, the people perish .
Brother Malcolm would eventually have rejected islam as he rejected NOI. Truth speaking "race" has to do with color and physiognomy. To a non western observer who does not know "one drop" this learned man is white or arab as his experience in Arab world says
LOL, Anyone who is Bedouin who is Black is NOT Bedouin. What is this guy even talking about. Arabs are NOT Black. Anyone who looks Black are Black people from Africa who live in the Middle East.
The first racist was Iblis ( Djinn), when Allah order him to bow down to Adam, aleyhi wa salem, together with the Angels, but he was saying: " i am better than him" Just remeber that...
Well said. The fact that this existed from the beginning of our existence says it all Iblis is not going anywhere . These examples in The Glorious Quran of the pitfalls of life is to prepare us from those pitfalls. Life will test us all. i am forever grateful that ALLAH (SWT) open my heart to Islam . I believe that the racism against Africans and African descendants is basically the same whether East or West. It is based on skin color, features and hair texture and the idea that light skin ,straight hair and keen features are superior. This is straight up modeling of white supremacy. On the contrary I can believe that SOME white people that are non middle Eastern may not be as racist, simply because once they accept Islam the white supremacy idea is flushed away for some reason. Every other group who are not of African Black heritage looks down on us,even when it is covert. Sometimes this causes many Blacks to not convert to Islam and also because of the Arab slave trade,!
Good discussion but I find it mostly laughable. I fail to understand how one can be a Muslim and a racist at the same time. I saw this with my own eyes in Saudi Arabia and I have seen it across America predominantly in the immigrant communities. The outcome is simple. The communities will split. The "profiling" and "religious bigotry" that those who are new to America, African Americans have been experiencing for hundreds of years. WE were the first Muslims on American soil and because you "may" have been pronunciation of the Arabic, the second generation (your children) will be lost because you don't understand America. Most of you understand MONEY which is why many (not most) people from Arabia and other historically Muslim come to America for.You are all so excited when a white person expresses interest in Islam, not realizing that the most fertile ground for the propagation of Islam is the African American community.I am sorry to disappoint you, but not all African Americans are criminal, many have college degrees and hold professional positions; and them some IMMIGRANTS have the audacity to say that we have accepted "your religion." Last I read, ALL human being were created as Muslims and their parents turn them to be something else. With my heart, I love you. I love you deeply but you cannot escape the racism in your behavior towards others who do not look like you. What I see is TRIBALISM. Arabs don't like Pakistanis, Pakistanis don't like Bangladeshis, and everyone disdains the African American (and Sudanese) Muslims. And as a final point, I see ALL of these communities putting their CULUTURAL practices above what our Nabi left for us to follow. I thank Allah that He brought me to the true light of Islam but I am ashamed of how we treat other Muslims. Some brothers don't even offer the Salams to other Muslims. This is why we the moral "upper hand" we had on the Kaffirs is dwindling away.Again, I love you so deeply. It's like being rejected by a blood relative when I see how the IMMIGRANT community treats those who are African Muslim; with arrogance and superiority..If I sound angry; I am not. I am SHOCKED by the lack of humanity within the community of this PERFECT Deen. Frankly, I would be ashamed to invite my non-Muslim friends to the Masjid. To have been a second class citizen due to social inequities is one thing but to be a second class citizen in the House of Allah? No thank you.We did not come back to Islam (we were ALWAYS Muslims - we are not "reverts") to be made a slave in Islam.Shame on you individually and shame on the leadership who is too afraid to speak about this for fear of losing their "special pass" to be in this country. I see Islam on the tongues and in the dress but it stops there. Did you know that the new Shahada has a higher station than you who have had Islam for centuries?Once your children begin co-mingling with the children of the Kuffar you will see how hard it is. And by the way, American is the GREATEST COUNTRY in the world for those who want to practice Islam? Is Saudi Arabia? Is Yemen? Is Iraq? What about Syria (the Ismaelis)? Is Eqypt? Qatar? Is Dubai - the Las Vegas of the Muslim world where you can but prostitutes, alcohol, and drugs yet they are Muslim?Have respect for the country you chose to call home. Learn the people. Learn the history. Learn the traditions. And take 5 minutes to understand the institutional racism again African Americans - Muslim or otherwise. We want you here. We NEED you hear, Dear Beloved Muslims, but when I hear about Muslim women having to go to homeless shelters because their husbands beat then up;is this Islam?May Allah forgive me for making such broad and in many cases unfair generalizations but my statements about the racism in the community is true.
Talib where did you miss the part it is Tribalism and " Cultural Mentality" and not true Islamic teaching which was also practice during the Prophet peace be up him , the example Br Quick gave about the sahabi who insulted Bilal, and then sought forgiveness from Bilal by asking him to step on his head .. point is , it is cultural and social disease where Islam in Quran and Hadith forbade and discouraged immensely the video was simple and clear , even my 12 year old understood it.,so not sure why were u laughing and parts didn't understand . and came back with such a LONG comment , full of ( as you called it ) stereotyping and generalizing .
I don't think this is a problem unique to muslims. People from various nations, communities, institutions and even families, treat lighter skinned people as superior. It is as if a dark skinned girl cannot be beautiful. Of course she can because her beauty can shine through her facial and bodily features, her style of dressing, her character, pleasant personality etc. When describing a girl or anyone else for that matter, it is wrong to say that they look beautiful because of their flawless white skin which is almost translucent. They can be white or light skinned and still be unattractive, rude, arrogant and stupid. Just my humble opinion.

Dr. Hakim is a brilliant historian and speaker. I can listen to him speak all day.
I took Shahada with an African Imam in NYC. The big Islamic Center in Manhattan. The Imam is back African, and very friendly (although understandably quite busy). He's very tall, hard to miss! I'm white, and the center is quite mixed with Muslims from literally around the world.

Quick.

So proud to be of West African lineage and a new Christian revert to Islam.
It's a foreign religion it never originated in Africa why even follow it
Shalom,
Islam (etymological root *_SLM_* ) simply means to submit.
I submit to the One True Living G*d of Israel. The LORD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob otherwise known as Avraham (Ibrahim), Yitzhak (Ishaq), and Yaacov (Yacub).
I believe that Christ is the only begotten Son of G*d
I believe in the the Messiah who was born of the Virgin Maryam Meriam (Mary) through the Holy Spirit of G*d sent to give up his communion with His LORD and my LORD.

True
So you are going to sweep centuries of Arab slavery and genocide of Africans justified by Islam under the rug to make yourself feel good? Nice to know
American whites are a different breed? 🤔

Huu Ya somalis and habasha as the Arabs call them experience racism from Arabs as well.
Thanks.
Huu Ya my point is the Arabs don’t distinguish you from other black Africans except for the fact you are Muslims.
Huu Ya siyad Barre did not bring the Bantu to Somalia, they were there from a long time. And Somalis are more tribalistic than anything
Huu Ya actually the British and Italians bought Bantu people from Tanzania and Kenya because the Somalis refused to work for them. Somalis are kind people but even they have that minority hateful people.

Last time I checked countries like Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq are literally in the Asian continent. You might wanna specify and say EAST Asia.
Mashallah

Lol lets be honest islam contradicts it's self just as any other man made religion
Monotheism wasn't started by Islam
Andrew Sealy The first instance was when the Abyssinians gave refuge to the original band of Muslims who were being persecuted in Mecca.
I've experienced this first hand among Arabs.
Islam have came more traditional with the Arabs, than a living religion.
Quantum Resonance well at least you didn't experience them in Libya cause they still sell blacks there

Yes, he’s from Massachusetts. It’s the same accent
It is unfortunate that this must be addressed in The Ummah. To be in league with the ideologies of racist oppressors is anti Islamic and racists in the Ummah should be CHECKED as these are not Muslims.
The Aryans were not from Germany. They came from modern day southern Russia. Most of them were not blonde and blue eyes.

Mohammed referred to Blacks as "raisin heads". (Sahih Al Bukhary vol. 1, no. 662 and vol. 9, no. 256).

"Love your enemy, bless those who curse you." But He also says " be wise as 'serpents' but innocent as doves'"
So lets love but walk wisely among your enemies.
I encourage you to study the life of Bilal ibn Rabah Al-Habashi
(May Allah Be Pleased With Him).
I can give you a quick answer: Segregation.
This is a very important topic. Good job
A Muslim cannot be racist. That person is a Munafiq (Hypocrite).
Racism is ignorant ,the prophet SAW last sermon was about racism

The biggest threat to the progress of black africans at the moment is Islam
There are lot of Islamic books I studied in 80s in Middle East to prove that slavery has been being practiced since the beginning of Islam till today
Arabs and Muslims slavery against black in Middle East and North Africa was worse than western slavery against black.
@@seekerinaction2521 your are 1000% wright.
Black people always defend their worst enemies.
Imagine someone asking if you are Muslim.
When Islam reached your country before the Hijrah. When you have masjid qiblateyn.
Brother Malcolm would eventually have rejected islam as he rejected NOI.
Truth speaking "race" has to do with color and physiognomy. To a non western observer who does not know "one drop" this learned man is white or arab as his experience in Arab world says
Wow a fortune teller!
LOL, Anyone who is Bedouin who is Black is NOT Bedouin. What is this guy even talking about. Arabs are NOT Black. Anyone who looks Black are Black people from Africa who live in the Middle East.
The first racist was Iblis ( Djinn), when Allah order him to bow down to Adam, aleyhi wa salem, together with the Angels, but he was saying: " i am better than him"
Just remeber that...
Well said. The fact that this existed from the beginning of our existence says it all

Hi i am from Pakistan i don't know Muslims are racist towards Muslims
Would you marry your daughter or sister to a black Muslim?
Talib
where did you miss the part it is Tribalism and " Cultural Mentality" and not true Islamic teaching which was also practice during the Prophet peace be up him , the example Br Quick gave about the sahabi who insulted Bilal, and then sought forgiveness from Bilal by asking him to step on his head .. point is , it is cultural and social disease where Islam in Quran and Hadith forbade and discouraged immensely
the video was simple and clear , even my 12 year old understood it.,so not sure why were u laughing and parts didn't understand . and came back with such a LONG comment , full of ( as you called it ) stereotyping and generalizing .
