Thanks to put the free french forces in your video, just a little bit disappointed that the battle of Bir Hakeim is not showed, this battle was the first important battle fought by the FFF, this is the battle that saved Egypt and moreover this is a very important battle for Free France, Free France was recognized as a real military power after this battle.

@@phantomtheturk Well I don’t know that much about Vichy I’m more into Free France :D. Well first their ineffectiveness comes from the fact that their army was limited (100 000 men maximum following the terms of the Armistice), so their army was smaller than the allied armies. Moreover they were baddly equipped, the number of tanks was small, if not near 0 maybe (I don’t really know, I’m just sure it was really small). By the way these tanks were french tanks from 1940 and Germany took all the good ones to fight against Russia so what’s left were trash tanks. Also even if a lot of people supported Pétain in 1940, more and more people doubted their ideas as the time went by so the french generals quickly decided not the fight the anglo-american anymore during operation Torch and joined the allies instead (they’ll merge with the free french forces in may 1943). Finally the Germans didn’t think they were trustworthy (for example the french milice wasn’t allowed to have guns until 1943), which is one of the reasons why they invaded Vichy France in late 42.

@@Lucifer-pb5up Apparently it gained independence in 1922, but I still I agree with the fact they were basically a British puppet and in this case a protectorate as they literally functioned like one.

As the number shows it, free France was really important in Africa during the war, and as the numbers shows it too, Vichy France didn’t have a lot of soldiers because of resistance and people who just ran away from Vichy to a safer place

Very cool video, the only mistakes which I saw were the invasion of Greece that wasn’t included but played a large role in Africa and Vichy France wasn’t taken by only Germany it had its south taken by Italy

Good video, however at 3:26 and 4:32 there is a mistake. At Tobruk it is listed as British forces encircled, when in reality it was comprised of mostly Australian forces. So either you accidentally switched the the flags during editing, or you mistakenly believe it was mostly British forces at Tobruk

Why didn't you show the same thing when ENGLISH army went to american army crying and asking for help?
because the main part didn’t involve the usa, the only reason the USA came was because they needed to go through Africa to get to italy (to then invade the axis in Europe)
and that was a whole different battle
The british never cried to the Americans for help,u think the british won the important battle of the mediterinean, war of egypt(tobruk,el alamein,benghazi)with american help,no,they did not they fought with just themselves with their large empire the americans landed in vichy french soil and the french rather joined them and handed over their german commanders the british empire had to do all the hard fighting
