😍This is a beautiful book! I'm confused as to why it is called a 'Junk Journal" tho. The materials are not junk and there is no place to write on the pages to journal. I consider a book like this to be a gorgeous photo album with plenty of tuck spots for ticket stubs, paper menus etc. That's how I would use it. Thank you for sharing!
Good question! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. The term Junk Journal has grown to mean really what any one person wants it to mean. My junk journals are usually made with a mix of new, vintage, antique and 'junk' items. I have pages for journaling and pages that I just decorate or add photos. I also will journal on a tag or journal card and then add that to a pocket or tuck or just paperclip to a page. My Ireland Journal flip through video will show you how I decorated and journaled in it. It has photos, journaling, ephemera from the trip, very similar to how you described how you would use a journal. The 'junk' items can just be used mailers, old lace, old playing cards, or greeting cards - the sky is the limit. I also love to up cycle or repurpose old items. I have another video where I take the little button envelopes that come with our cloths and turn them into journal envelope tags. In another video I take a paper bag from the dentist and turn it into a page for a signature. Thanks for sharing your ideas!!
Well hi Sheila! Welcome. Love to find fellow crafters in Kentucky. Do you have a TH-cam channel? In what part of Kentucky do you live? What sorts of things do you like to make?
@@KentuckyKrafter Rockcastle. Yes, I have a channel, I’m into paper crafting mostly right now but like to try everything I can and like to focus on DIY supplies and how to do things free or almost free if I can.
Hello! My name is Nicole and I’m a new crafty subscriber friend! I’m excited to watch more of your videos! Thanks so much for sharing this video and have a wonderful day😊
Just found your channel and subscribed within 2 minutes. Love your creative ideas and this very cute journal. tfs. Im off to binge the rest of your videos!
Wow, great idea! I once painted some fabric with PVA glue (diluted a little) and it made the fabric really durable...Wonder if that would also work with this concept?
I am so sorry. Here is the link. And I will add it to the description. Quadruple Pocket Pocket! One Sheet of Paper! WHAT? | Mass Making | Junk Journaling | Nature Theme th-cam.com/video/Gm7EimH1Msk/w-d-xo.html
It is personal preference. I like having the dangly threads hanging out. But they can certainly be trimmed if one doesn’t want them. I trim them sometimes on tags or pockets. Just depends on my mood. Good question!!
Hi Jude. I just use a regular sewing machine and regular needle. It is a brother brand. I have had it 3 years now. I have a video where I show the various stitches. Search my channel with the word sewing in the title. I will see if I can link it here.
Love this journal so pretty, you could add ruled pages with washi tape to create writing spaces.
Great idea!❤️
Thank you for ideas. I hate it that Tuesday Morning went out of business.
You are welcome. Me too!!

This is a gorgeous perfect size journal. Thanks for sharing your journey with us beautiful.
Thank you Tina
May I ask why you don’t trim the access thread? I notice a lot of junk journalers do not.
It is personal preference. I like having the dangly threads hanging out. But they can certainly be trimmed if one doesn’t want them. I trim them sometimes on tags or pockets. Just depends on my mood. Good question!!
Hi I love Yor work! I am a beginner and would like to know if I need a heavy duty sewing machine or could I just use a regular machine?
Thanks, Jude
