Hi mate this is incredible - really nice work. Just wondering did you have to add weight to the GH4 to stabilise this property as they do not weigh very much???

Great first outing with a Glidecam. Which lens did you use? You seem to be moving quite quickly.

+Richard Parrington Thanks, it was literally my first time using it, I had set it up to get a balance just twice before based on videos and forum advice, I went for a 3 second drop time, to handle the glidecam is interesting, on some shots I got a stuttering effect (shots that didnt make the cut) and other shots the camera just went way up in the air (boating), however I realised that holding the glidecam quite firmly (I thought it required a light hold) with the guiding hand gives a stable and more directional control.
Im glad I got the Devin Graham Glidecam based on the fact it took less than 2 mins to set it up outside (including balancing) its just so fast and exactly what im after, I feel that for my first try it came out decent, I still have lots learn and the 3 hours that I did shoot for taught me alot, I did alot of running when there was the skateboarding and some other bits too, I'm going to do another location and see if I can get better results.
One note is that when I put the Cine lens on the camera it wouldnt sit flush with the Dovetail so I had to use my Jag35 DSLR plate to raise it off the glidecam, I also had to use 2 thread screws to keep the plate attached to the glidecam baseplate since it would start lifting at the front but it was absolutely solid after that.

+Alexander Rollinson Hi Alex I missed that detail. I didn't realise wide angle lenses made movement look faster. I have learned that panning shots need to be made very slowly.

Really nice! I was considering the DG Glidecam but have had previous issues balancing these kind of stabilisers. Is it much easier than the HD2000s to balance?

Having never used a stabiliser before, I can tell you this is almost impossible to not be able to balance within 5 mins.. It's super easy and worth every penny

Very nice!!! Did you find yourself having to add more stabilization in post production?

Nice! How many weights did you use for the glidecam?

Any tips on balancing a gh4 with this stabilizer? I received mine yesterday, but am having issues controlling it during a regular walk. I got it to a 3 second drop and well leveled. But then I move and it starts a pendulum effect. This is not the first time I've used a glidecam. Is it possible I got a defective unit? I'm using the gh4 with the 12-35. Nothing else.

which glidecam are you using? I did actually use a Jag35 DSLR basplate to add weight, I imagine without it then you would have only 1 weight each side, dont forget to control the gliedcam with your left hand, you cant just lift the handle.. needs one hand on handle and finger thumb on the metal bit to guide it, that will help keep it on track, also I prefer the glidecam to be slightly pointing up so that when I hold it the camera comes down a bit.

I'm using the Devin Graham signature series. You're right. I should add more weight on top so I can add more weights in the bottom.

when you can get it balanced to two weights either side you will be in a good place.. you could get it to more but honestly the strain is not worth it.
