  • A six-month trial of a new bike lane down the middle of San Francisco's Valencia Street is causing a lot of pain for businesses and worry for some cyclists as they maneuver in and out of the bike lane into traffic lanes. One business owner goes on a hunger strike to protest the bike lane cutting down on business.

In the pockets of the politicians and their respective bureaucracies and 1 perfect example of that was when they had these construction crews on Potrero street fixing the many old potholes and cracks, but they would never finish completetly because the DPT would always take a cut from the federal stipend they`d get for the repairs. I talked to a worker that worked on this and he was pretty sure that`s what was going on.
All politicians and people in involved in politics are always gonna be corrupt because people that aspire for political power ARE mentally corrupt, that doesn`t matter if they are libtards, conservative nationalists, socialists or whatever. Having political beliefs makes people be irrational, liberticidal and despicably inferior beings.

So the 95 cars vs 32 bikes comment does not make sense to me as a reason for needing more car lanes. The bike lanes take up half the space of the car lanes, and the car lanes have car parking lanes by it. Counting the car parking lanes, the cars are taking 4 times the space of the bikes, but there are only 3 times the amount of cars.
Hopefully when issues with the bike lanes are addressed, there will be even more people using the bike lanes
Edit: apparantly 50% if the local community in that area don't even have cars. Don't understand how they can blame their suffering business on not enough car lanes/ parking.

Honestly as a cyclist I don't like the idea of these lanes because there is little consistency. I feel like that lane just will bring in other uneducated cyclists or those who are unfamiliar with riding on streets amongst cars and traffic. I've seen so many cyclists advocate for our rights but then break all kinds of laws like biking through red lights for small intersections. You wouldn't do it in your car, what then gives you the right to do it on your bike. Cycling on the proper side of the road should be common sense but you still see people doing it all over. Then in turn I see motorists unwilling to share the roads with this behavior only making it worse.
We need more advocacy for better driving and more education amongst cyclists and drivers alike.

The DMV needs to have a LOT more discretion as to who they give licenses to cuz since DMV is also a for profit bureaucracy, they don`t care who`s on the road, just as long as they get their registration fees, ticket fees and so forth and I mention this cuz there`s real nutcases and blind geezers that should NOT be driving and are dangerous behind the wheel.
