I literally am in the same boat except I’m a new dm running this set for my kids. Definitely too much for the five year old to do all the rules but I just do her rolls for her. The kids decided that 5year olds paladin was the captain of the ship and that the 11 year old was a stowaway, and that they met eachother when the captain catches the stow away. That was fun. Then the five year old threw her javelin at the zombies, while the 11 year old shot one with an arrow. Then they realized they were both faster than the zombies and they decided to just walk away. so now there’s a zombie with a javelin and another with an arrow they are going to re encounter later. Anyway I really appreciate your breakdown of the story!
Love your ideas. Definitely stealing these. I ran DOSI a year ago with changes suggested by Perkins but I like your ideas way better. I'm hoping you create more one-shots as your story telling awesome.
