This movie is actually based on the 2003 cartoon but to be real this is basically tmnt 4 even though is cgi animation and a damn good one
I loved this movie back as a kid
I do have a soft spot for it.
Basically I thought the stone villains looked cool, I liked seeing April kick ass, and Karai getting more of a spotlight was good, but they didn't develop or explain anything. We have no idea why Karai is in charge of the Foot Clan and not Shredder, we have no idea what happened between the turtles, and Leonardo is honestly way too naive in this movie for it to work.
I heard this was a follow-up to the 2003 cartoon
Apparently the guy who voices Leonardo in this movie also voices Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and then on in the series. (which is my favorite video game series)
Unfortunately, I never played much of ratchet & clank: going commando, I remember playing it for the PlayStation 2, it was a fun game from what I remember, reminded me of psychonauts & blinx: the time sweeper for the Xbox original, 🤔

The 🏙️ still looks cool 16 years later.
As I remember there was a game based off this movie on the gameboy advanced and it was surprisingly good

i like TMNT (2007)
IMO the best part of TMNT 2007 was the GBA video game of all things. The other versions of the game were typical tie-ins but the GBA game was a polished 2D beat-em-up. The devs of TMNT 2007 for the GBA would later work on the Scott Pilgrim video game for X360 & PS3 which also got positive reviews.
In his top 11 F*ck up's video, he apologies for the joke me made about splinters voice, sorry if that's a spoiler for a future video, just wanted to bring it up.
No problem, it was not apart of the nostalgia critic season 2 playlist, so i didn't watch the video.
