I really enjoyed this video. I have the Laowa and was considering the MP-E65 still may pull the trigger on it. I thought your explanation and the practical use of both lenses was spot on! You have a new subscriber to your macro world.
Great video. Thank you. Pretty much answered the questions that I had… So I ordered the Canon, along with the MR-14EX II. LOL Image quality is THE top priority. And the percentage of my images on the web is tiny. OTOH, my prints start at 11x14…and go up from there. Way up in some cases. (Just sold two 40x60” prints, and those aren’t the largest I’ve done.) I also don’t like the lack of filter threads on the Venus…I don’t want to hold a ring light while also operating a camera. So again, thank you for the great info.
My “initial” comment failed to show up, for some reason, Max. So, again, in sum: credible comparison. Good tip on shadows “spooking” subjects. Bright venue overexposed your face somewhat - squinting.
Hey Paul, for some reason TH-cam doesn't seem to like the two of us talking. I used to get notifications when you would comment on my videos and wen I was going to answer there would appear to be no comment. No I see that you dropped a comment and I didn't get a notification 😂 Just wanted to say thanks for the support and let you know that I'm not ignoring your comments on purpose! Cheers buddy 😉
@@TheGiantWorldofTinyThings YT will mess things up from time to time. Hope you were not adversely affected by recent Germany floods, Max. At least you were able to do some comment stuff.
not sure about your light test as it shows different WB and your set at 'as shoot' so the lens are giving different colour not different light amounts I bet if you clicked on each to get true WB you see a different result
Dude! You need deserve more subscribers!
This channel is awesome!
Thanks a Million buddy, so glad you're enjoying the content!
Hopefully more will follow soon... ;)
Fantastic video. Canon all the way. Sharper and a little more versatile for macro. The Venus is cute though.

Very good. Hermano, from Brazil.
Best versus for this lenses, thank you!
Thank you so much for the review!!! The Crystal shots caught my eye as well could you speak more about how you took those images?
A very good job, as always!
Thanks you kindly Sir 😉
What were the speed, ISO, and f-stop you used?
So far all other reviews I read claim that Laowa is sharper.
Great job man keep it up!
Thanks a lot for saying so Eli! Will do 😉

does the MP-E65 has a focus motor to be able to use the focus bracketing of some of canon's cameras?
No. You have to work fully manual.
Venus Optics has so many interesting macro lenses.
They sure do! I love how innovative they are and how they always push the boundaries of their lenses!
If camera weight is such a factor, why not remove that big assed battery pack.
Laowa 25mm ftw:)
Agreed!
