    Guest Conductor/Konuk Şef: Eric Whitacre
Artistic Director/Sanat Yönetmeni: Burak Onur Erdem
'Geçsin Günler' albümünde İncesaz'a eşlik etti.
Rezonans was formed at the end of 2010 for performing choral music in its highest quality. The ensemble, consisting of experienced choristers, performed in many prestigious venues of Istanbul such as Borusan Music House, Hagia Irene Museum, Austrian Culture Forum, in many choral festivals, and in various cities of Turkey.
Rezonans found the opportunity to work with guest conductors such as Simon Carrington, Volker Hempfling, Klaus-Jürgen Etzold, Qin Huang, Nigel Short, Brady Allred and Paulo Lourenço in choral conducting workshops and international projects.
Rezonans’ repertoire focuses on contemporary music. 20th and 21st century works by Turkish composers constitute an important part of the repertoire. The ensemble premiered two pieces by composers Hasan Uçarsu and Özkan Manav, accomplished another Turkish premiere of Gloria by Kamran Ince, and prepares to bring new Turkish pieces to light.

At 5:58', something magic starts. It seams that Leonardo's Flying Machine takes off. Amazing! I do really like this guy Whitacre.

Not normally a fan of dissonance but Whitacre is brilliant. He’ an early music master and reminds me of Tallis. Singing in close harmony is so difficult!!

I had the opportunity to sing this song 2 years ago and still it gives me goosebumps when I hear it being performed. This song is really challenging to sing i daresay....

An understatement! Rhythmic, dissonance, and tessitura challenges!

Here are the lyrics and the Italian parts translated.
Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine…
Tormented by visions of flight and falling,
More wondrous and terrible each than the last,
    Master Leonardo imagines an engine
To carry a man up into the sun…
And as he’s dreaming the heavens call him,
    softly whispering their siren-song:
“Leonardo. Leonardo, vieni á volare”. (“Leonardo. Leonardo, come fly”.)
L’uomo colle sua congiegniate e grandi ale,
facciendo forza contro alla resistente aria.
(A man with wings large enough and duly connected
might learn to overcome the resistance of the air.)
Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine…
As the candles burn low he paces and writes,
Releasing purchased pigeons one by one
    Into the golden Tuscan sunrise…
And as he dreams, again the calling,
The very air itself gives voice:
“Leonardo. Leonardo, vieni á volare”. (“Leonardo. Leonardo, come fly”.)
    Vicina all’elemento del fuoco…
(Close to the sphere of elemental fire…)
    Scratching quill on crumpled paper,
    Rete, canna, filo, carta.
    (Net, cane, thread, paper.)
Images of wing and frame and fabric fastened tightly.
    …sulla suprema sottile aria.
(…in the highest and rarest atmosphere.)
Master Leonardo Da Vinci Dreams of his Flying Machine…
    As the midnight watchtower tolls,
    Over rooftop, street and dome,
The triumph of a human being ascending
In the dreaming of a mortal man.
    Leonardo steels himself,
    takes one last breath,
    and leaps…
“Leonardo, Vieni á Volare! Leonardo, Sognare!” (“Leonardo, come fly! Leonardo, Dream!”)

Unbelievably difficult, challenging dissonance, killer tessitura in Soprano 1. But so beautiful!

So disappointing that they go so sharp, literally the entire piece went up a half step right out of the gate.

True. But I've performed this piece on a few occasions, and I've found it very difficult to stay exactly in pitch throughout the piece. This song is NOT easy.

For as wonderful of a composer as he is, his conducting could use a little work. Again, not taking away from his INCREDIBLE writing or other musical talents. Just some pretty unclear gestures.

What’s the point of conducting when you mouth the words the whole time
