    Sad how people called Simone Biles a quitter when she pulled out of Tokyo. Gymnastics is very dangerous. In other sports, you can swim slower, run slower, exert less effort to catch the ball, etc, but gymnasts could literally fall on their neck or head and be paralyzed or literally die from their injuries if they slipped a couple of inches when the mind isn’t right. It’s so beautiful to see Aly Raisman speak to the world trying to explain what’s happening to the general public who may not know what’s going on..

Connecticut University (Melanie Cole) in 2019, in training, not competition, performing a simple double back dismount off Uneven bars landed wrong, broke her neck, and died (may she RIP) This sport is dangerous at all levels, and Simone is her own level! It’s be interesting to hear from pilots (especially fighter pilots) on this issue. To fly in midair and track where you are is an interesting commonality between gymnasts and pilot. Do pilots fight “the twisters” too? How do they overcome, or do they seek out their commanding officer and say, “Hey, before I take out a multimillion dollar aircraft and put my team, myself, and that plane in jeopardy, you need to know that I’m not feeling right.” Wouldn’t we have understanding and compassion for the pilot? Wouldn’t there be resources there for the pilot to get well? It should be no different for the gymnast. Well done Aly; you’ve done us all a service through your professional, articulate, and heart-felt response to the issue.

    Can her, chellsie and shannon be the ones to interview regarding this situation. Ive seen other athletes being interviewed that say they know the pressure simone was under. Not really they went to the olympics but were not the star of the olympics and told they needed to win 6 golds. They also have never lost a competitoon.aly is such a good support system

    • @rilenixx
      @rilenixx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She could have and should have said no to the millions of dollars in endorsements to be the face of the Olympics. She could have and should have left the GOAT off off her leotards. Those decisions are what added this immense pressure she was under. A certain responsibility comes along with that territory. She needs to be accountable for the choices she made. SB wanted her cake and to eat it to.
      I read the interviews she did long before she left for Tokyo. She was having issues before Tokyo. She was struggling in more ways than one. SB should have given her spot to another gymnast. One who trained their entire lives for that one opportunity to represent their country, compete in the Olympics and possibly win a medal. SB had already lived out her dreams of competing in the Olympics and had already won tons of medals. It was time to let somebody else live out their dreams. I feel bad for the gymnasts who could have had their opportunity to compete this year that will never have that opportunity ever again because SB selfishly took that spot. SB had no business going to Tokyo this year.
      SB was the first and only gymnast since the Olympics started in 1896 to do what she did. Out of the thousands of gymnasts to compete in the Olympic games for over 120 years and SB was the first to just quit like she did. If this condition happens to so many gymnasts, "the twisties" as SB coined the phrase, then how is it no other gymnast ever did what she did in the Olympics before? Thousands of gymnasts to reference and SB is the first?

    • @TwelveToneRow
      @TwelveToneRow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rilenixx You must not have watched this video. And if you knew anything about gymnastics and actually followed along, you would have noticed that Simone scored over 60.0 on day 1 of Olympic trials- a feat not reached by even the current Olympic champion. Simone also qualified to the All Around competition in Tokyo in 1st place. If she had repeated that same score she would have won the final. So do some research before you spew your nonsense and say that she was not ready.

    • @rilenixx
      @rilenixx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TwelveToneRow That score is from the Olympic trials. Listen to yourself. You are saying she would have beat the current Olympic champion "if only" she repeated the score from the trials. But she didn't, now did she? She quit.
      That is my whole point. SB put the lowest score she has ever put up in the Olympic games in the first event and so she quit. She became the first gymnast in over 120 years of Olympic games to do what she did. You can go back and reference the thousands and thousands of gymnasts to compete in the Olympic games, who all faced the same adversity and danger, and will not find one other gymnast who quit.
      So SB blames it on "the twisties" but as soon as Suni wins Gold, SB suddenly wants to compete again. Because Suni was getting the attention and spotlight.
      The fact of the matter is she folded under the pressure. Extra pressure that she is responsible for putting on herself. She said yes to becoming the face of the Olympics and yes to all of the millions of dollars from almost a dozen different endorsements. She also put the GOAT on her leotards declaring herself to be the greatest of all time.
      After she choked in the first event, her massive ego took a serious hit. She was so embarrassed that she decided to become the first Olympic athlete, first Olympic gymnast since the beginning of the Olympic games in 1896 to do what she did. You can't refute the truth. She is not brave and she is not a hero or a role model. Not anymore anyways. The Olympic games is the absolute highest level of competition there is and on the worlds biggest stage. This isn't a high school competition.

    • @TwelveToneRow
      @TwelveToneRow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rilenixx No, read my response more closely next time- I said if she repeated her lackluster day 1 from qualifications at the Tokyo Olympics she would have still won. The comment about her Day 1 trials score is a rebuttal to your she-wasn't-ready-for-the-Olympics commentary.
      Biles was in great shape, there's no denying that; she however was only able to compete beam because there was no twisting involved. She spent a few days re-learning the double pike dismount, which she hadn't done since she was a junior. If you have never done gymnastics at a high level, your opinion on the fact that she pulled out due to issues with her vestibular sensory system holds no weight, sorry. You have no idea how scary it is to try to do a back flip and accidentally twist (or in her case, the opposite).
      You're saying I can't refute the truth, but what you're saying is baseless, laughable, and hold no truth whatsoever. Your comments read like a typical keyboard warrior who took the time to read one or two articles written by people who have no experience in the sport.

    • @rilenixx
      @rilenixx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisadavis8909 Absolutely she should be held accountable for quitting on her team, country and sport after she took millions and millions of dollars this year, from almost a dozen different endorsements, to knowingly be the face of the Olympics. Only to quit after the first event because she got the the fourth lowest score of all 24 gymnasts competing and her massive ego was bruised. She is the one who put the GOAT on her leotards and said she was the greatest of all time.
      She wants her cake and to eat it too. Unfortunately the youth in this country like to quit and complain. So they find no problem with it. That is a testament of where we are as a country and worse, where we are heading in the near future.
      SB is the first gymnast since the Olympic games started in 1896, out of thousands of gymnasts to compete in the Olympic games, to do what she just did. As an American who takes competing extremely serious and has extreme respect for the Olympic games and the athletes who compete, I find her an utter disgrace.
      She should have said no to accepting all that money this year from all of those endorsements. Only she knew deep down inside herself that she shouldn't have competed this year. But she said yes to being the face of the Olympics anyways. She should have given her spot to someone else. Let another girl have their chance to compete in the Olympics and live out their dreams. SB has already lived out hers and won tons of medals. It was extremely selfish of her because look what she did. She made history by becoming the first athlete in the Olympics to quit. Of course as soon as Suni won Gold, SB wanted to compete again. Suni cured SB case of "the twisties" by winning Gold.
      No other country in the world has ever had any of their athletes quit in the Olympic games. Nope, just us, the United States of America. We have the only quitter in the history of the Olympics. It is embarrassing. People in this country should be calling the other gymnasts on the U.S. female gymnastics team the brave and heroic competitors instead of calling a quitter the brave and heroic one.
      Only in this new type of America would people find what she did acceptable. No other country in the world would praise a quitter in the Olympics and call them brave and heroic. If an athlete quit the Olympic games in any other country in the world, their career would be finished. That country would not praise them. It is the highest level of competition there is and its on the worlds biggest stage. All of those athletes face serious adversity, all overcome the most difficult obstacles and choose to push through and persevere to the end.
      Why is SB so special? What makes her journey more difficult than any of the tens of thousands of Olympic athletes who have competed in the games before her? SB is the one who put all of the added pressure on herself. the GOAT on her leotards! Telling everyone she is the greatest of all time! Saying yes to being the face of the Olympics is just another example of the narcissistic self centered nature of SB. You reap what you sow in life.
      SB and all of you are teaching our youth that you will be a hero and will be called brave if you quit. Unbelievable. Why we are becoming a weaker nation by the week. You all have inverted absolutely everything.

    First Olympic gymnast in over 120 years of Olympic games to do what she did just did. How come no other gymnast has ever done this? Thousands of Olympic gymnasts faced the same adversity and danger competing?
    She should have said no to the millions of dollars in endorsements to be the face of the Olympics. She should have left the GOAT off off her leotards. She should have given her spot to somebody else!

      How the heck do you know that "thousands of gymnasts" competed when they were dealing with the same condition?? When just about every gymnast who has spoken out on this matter is supporting Simone Biles you should give them the respect of hearing what they are saying, and stop pretending you are the EXPERT and the tough one.

      @@keng4847 Do you think out of the thousands of gymnasts to reference since 1896. who have competed in the Olympic games, that none of them faced the same danger and adversity when they were competing? Or do you honestly believe that this is just unique and isolated to SB only?
      The reason you have never heard of this before is simply because every gymnast that has competed in the Olympic games never quit because the pressure was to much for them. They are professional athletes who were/are competing at the highest level of competition on the worlds biggest stage.
      SB took the millions and millions of dollars to be the face of the Olympics and she should have said no. If you want to self proclaim yourself to be the greatest of all time and literally put a GOAT on your leotards, you had better be prepared to perform and compete. A certain responsibility comes with that territory. You can't have your cake and eat it to.
      Which gymnasts are you speaking of that came to SB defense? Aly Raisman and her current USA teammates? Of course Raisman and her current teammates are going to show support for SB. They would never be allowed to publicly criticize her. That would obviously never happen.
      As a citizen of the United States of America, I can voice my disgust in an Olympian from my country quitting on her team and her country if I want to. I have every right to say she disgraced our country and should have given her spot to someone who deserved it. SB is the first Olympian since the Olympic games started to do what she just did. To quit when the going gets tough is sending a negative message to our youth.
      I also compete in MMA. The most dangerous sport their is on the planet. So I do not relate nor do I agree with what she did. SB should give back all that money and should have never taken that spot on the team. She should have never put the GOAT on her leotards either. You reap what you sow. The age of the snowflakes is upon us.
      So you also like your own comments? C'mon now!

      @@rilenixx Has any gymnast ever competed in the Olympics with this condition?? I don't know. NEITHER DO YOU!!!! Stop pretending that you do.
      What I do know is that her condition is very well known in gymnastics. And it's a condition that makes competing in her sport extra dangerous. Much more so than it' normally is. And it's NORMALLY more dangerous than most sports. I also know that she has gotten a lot of support from other gymnasts (you know those people who actually know what they're talking about). Including Her teammates this year and Ally Raisman/Lucy Hernandez/Shannon Miller. STOP PRETENDING THAT YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THEM. And stop pretending THAT YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE BEING INSINCERE.
      And btw, spare me that you compete in the MMA. I have no way of knowing if that's true. You'd hardly be the 1st one to lie about themselves on a message board. And frankly, I don't care if you do . We're not talking about the MMA. We're talking about Gymnastics. A sport that you obviously know nothing about. And we are talking about a condition that affects gymnasts. and a condition that is obviously beyond your capacity to understand But you want to pretend that you are the expert. Preen about your MACHO/TOUCH GUY athletic "accomplishments" to somebody else.
      You just want to hate on Simone Biles. Gee, I wonder why????
      Is it because she's black?
      Or because she's female?
      Or because it's just more fun to hate?
      Or is it because she's accomplished far more than you ever have, and most probably ever will?
      Or is it all of the above?

      @@keng4847 For starters I am a black man. So you brought up the race card! Of course you did. Also the sexism card and the hater card. Of course the jealousy card as well. How boring and predictable.
      People who can't accept an objective point of view all do this. You just deflect facts but you are unwilling to accept them. It is so juvenile and petty.
      You are telling me this condition is so common in gymnastics, then why has no gymnast ever quit and pulled out of their respective events before because of this very common condition? SB is the first and only gymnast to ever do this in over 120 years of competition in the Olympic games. She just also happened to make choices such as putting the GOAT on her leotards. That also happened to be another first in the Olympic games. She made the choice to accept millions and millions of dollars from almost a dozen endorsements that made it clear to her she would be the face of the Olympics. She could have said no but she didn't. These choices that she made are what ultimately put all of this extra intense pressure on her "mind and body." People need to be accountable and responsible for the decisions they make in their life.
      The truth is SB was feeling all of that immense extra pressure way before the Olympic games began. I read numerous interviews of hers talking about all of it long before she went to Tokyo. SB was in no state of mind to compete at this years Olympics. Hence the reason she had no business taking another gymnasts spot. Whoever's spot she took trained their entire life for just one opportunity to represent their country in the Olympic games and live out their dreams. SB had already lived out hers and won tons of medals. It was so narcissistic and selfish of her to commit to the Olympic games knowing she was not even close to 100%. She competed in the first event and received the lowest score she had ever gotten. That inflated ego of hers was bruised. She quit. Of course her teammates and Aly are going to publicly say they support her. She disgraced her sport, her team, her country and the Olympic games. Do you really think that one of the gymnasts whose place she had taken is going to publicly criticize her?
      I could care less if you don't believe that I compete in MMA. Why on earth would I make that up. The fact you would question that is only telling me one thing. That you are self projecting. Because you're capable of fabricating stories about yourself on social media does not mean that everyone else does.
      I also used to compete in powerlifting. I am 6'3" and 280 lbs solid. That I benched 495 lbs, squatted 685 lbs and deadlifted 735 lbs in competition? Am I making that up too? Am I making up that I have trained in jiu-jitsu for 16 years. That I have trained in Taekwondo for 24 years and boxing for 12 years? That I have an 8-3 record in the cage? All true. Every word. I brought up MMA because it is much more dangerous than gymnastics. I can relate to competing in an extremely dangerous sport.
      I don't know anything about gymnastics you say? Well I know SB is the first and only gymnast since the Olympics games started in 1896 to do what she just did. You are telling me this is such a common condition gymnasts have but yet not one gymnast has ever done what SB did in over 120 years of competition. Now that speaks volumes and tells me everything there is to know. Surely if this is so common and so many gymnasts sympathize with this condition, then surely this would have happened to another gymnast during the last 120 years. We are talking about thousands of gymnasts competing over the last 120 years in the Olympic games and not even one has ever quit because of "the twisties" before during competition?
      Like I said, she wanted her cake and to eat it to. Putting the GOAT on her leotards and telling everyone she is the greatest of all time. Accepting millions and millions of dollars to be the face of the Olympics when she knew she was having issues before Tokyo. But hey, as soon as Suni won Gold and was getting the attention, SB did a 180 and was ready to compete again. What she did is the equivalent of one of the starting five USA basketball players deciding to only play the first few minutes and last few minutes of every game. Or one of the starting USA baseball players deciding to only play the first inning and the last inning of every game.
      I think objectively and deal in facts. While you live in la la land and come to a conclusion subjectively. This is the Olympic games we are discussing and not some high school competition. These are professional athletes who are competing at the absolute highest level there is on the worlds biggest stage. SB quit and had no business competing this year. All of you snowflakes making excuses for her are only regressing our society. The youth in this generation need to face adversity and overcome it at all costs. Not start to believe that everything will just be miraculously ok if you quit whatever it is you are chasing in life. That you will be looked at as brave and be regarded as a hero when you quit. That is the wrong message. That is a lie. You succeed in life when you push through no matter what. Not everyone is blessed to make their living competing in sports you know. There are people who face real adversity everyday of their lives. Where quitting is not an option. This spectacle that is SB being praised and being called a hero for quitting will have serious consequences down the line. People who are calling her brave and a hero, are playing a huge hand in what's to come. You are all redefining what a true hero and what brave means. Our youth are going to grow up with this nonsense. Our society will pay the ultimate price for this. You all should be ashamed with yourselves.

      @@rilenixx Well, I have no way of knowing if you are black, any more than I have of knowing if you fight for the MMA. And it's really not hard to come up with a reason why someone might lie about fighting for the MMA. It would be to present yourself as the BIG TOUGH PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE WHO KNOWS WHAT TOUGHNESS IS AND THUS HAS MORE CREDIBILITY THAN ANYONE ELSE HERE. But even if you are a MMA fighter, you still don't have any credibility. Because it's so obvious that you have no understanding of her sport.
      This brings me to why it's just kind of hard for me to believe you are a big-time MMA fighter. People who reach the top levels of a sport tend to have some understanding of what that takes. And have an understanding of the heart./and dedication/discipline and fortitude it takes to reach that level even when it comes to sports that aren't their own.. And they have an appreciation of the great accomplishments accomplished by any athlete in any sport. And they have an understanding and empathy that there are travails that any athlete in any sport can face. They're not apt to be ONES to say about an athlete who had already accomplished so much, and who proved herself time and time again in the past, (as Simone Biles has) SHE QUIT, SO SHE'S A FRAUD, AND HAS NO HEART, ETC. But you have none of that understanding or appreciation.
      What you do have is a great need to hate on Simone Biles. And pretend that you are the expert on things that you are not. And pretend that you are in Simone Biles head. And pretend that you are in the heads of the other world-class gymnasts who defend and support her. AND THAT IS WHAT IS BORING. So go away. But you probably won't. So I'll go away.
