It’s so helpful to see someone as great at art as you show the reality to sketching/art and how you don’t speed through every piece, every piece isn’t always going to be a masterpiece/you make mistakes, and sometimes you need to regain confidence in your art process! So encouraging!!!💚
Oh my godddd I get stressed out by sketchbooks sometimes, for exactly this reason. I hate messing up, and then restarting on new pages. Idk why I never thought of simply just covering things. I’m so happy rn tyyyy!

I find it so hard to sketchbook! I feel like I only draw if I have an idea. I know I could just do some life studies and it would help me a lot, but it always sounds so boring I never do it.. I've seen a lot of artists use sticky notes to cover up things they don't like in their sketchbook spreads, and then they just draw over that! Adds some cute color blocking, as an added bonus. & just so you know, when they're in stores it's spelled like "aisles"; an isle is like an island!

If you want to able to draw in your sketchbook without it buckling like that or using your phone to hold it down you can use some of those triangle paper clips to pinch them down and force it open then over time it'll naturally open on its own, it works for me atleast :')))
feels strange that in some art universities the most valued art is realism cause in my university they always teach us to value more other art styles. Wich makes sense cause we already have cameras to make hiper realist portraits
I think your sketchbook needs to make you want to add to it when you look at it so if covering stuff up helps there’s nothing wrong with it. people create so much rules and none of it matters 🤣 the art masters used to paint over their paintings again and again. This video makes me want to make more art in different styles I feel like I don’t explore enough

Oh! I've also seen people use binder clips up at the top of the page while they're drawings, to keep the sketchbook open and flat!
i'm so shocked the pens and markers weren't locked up, the michaels i work at we have to open them with a key LOL. anyways, your art is amazing!!
