This was one of the last games I bought as a day one release in the store, I still have the package. I have very fond memories of NV and still play it once in awhile. I still remember a good portion of my first playthrough. There seem to be a few that are disappointed that Josh didn't enjoy or play the game in the exact same way they did after countless playthroughs with the blessing of hindsight. I'd be very surprised that anyone played the "proper way" the first time thru all the DLCs. For me, half the fun is seeing NV thru new eyes. As I watch these VODs, I stop what I'm doing every time he levels up to watch chat writhe a worm on a hot sidewalk as he puts a single point in everything. People seem to forget that NV is a game where you can do it "all wrong" and there will still be a story and an ending. The beauty of this game is that it has a solid story that allowed choices and and also accounted for all of them. Also, Josh, you keep saying that your anti crash mod doesn't do anything. This is the only thing you are entirely wrong about and I will give you criticism on. I assure you as a long time NV player it is indeed doing something, or you would be crashing a lot more than you do.
do you know which anti crash mod he is using? if its New Vegas Anti Crash (NVAC), he might need some more mods to make the game almost completely stop from crashing
@@ignacius8466 That’s because a Michelin Star meal is still just a meal. Thinking it “must” be enjoyed a certain way is a detriment to all meals. Eat and enjoy, however you wish to
Watching you biff the whole Ulysses dialogue tree and then struggle with fighting him needlessly gave me great amusement. You helped the genocidal Joshua Graham, yet didn't even realize that Ulysses was telling the Courier that you've done the same thing! Lmao
So funny looking at people in chat losing their minds on how Josh is playing the game (build, weapon selection, hacking devices). The man is just having fun and playing the game his way.
The inability of FPS players to "look up" is absolutely fascinating to watch once you start to notice it. Spend 20 minutes in a missile silo, and he never ever look up at the missile, not even once. It's not on purpose, it's a weird thing with our brains :D
This DLC is really silly because of points Josh brought up. I don't/didnt care about the divide, or Ulysses. It hoists a lot of backstory on my previously blank slate character.
Does it? I recently replayed DLC and Read Avellone's interview regarding it. The whole delivering package in the divide is supposed to be just one of the many side quests your character did in the past, that had unintented consequences and is supposed to mirror the platinum chip delivery. Couriers can decide fates of entire nations with things or messages they deliver and not be aware about it. Besides DLC doesn't expect you to care about Ulysses, You can act dismissive about him, turn around and leave for any moment. You can even roleplay the notion that you're here simply for loot, EXP or sense of completion.
I'm sure it was said on stream, but for the nuanced conversation options and outcomes with Ulysses you need to have heard all his audio logs. To know his history better than he does, turnabout is fair play. Really interesting character.
I just skipped it based on what the comments said and Lonesome Road is bad enough when you do get every speech option you can and let him live I'm more excited to see his choices that will affect the main game
1:30.... How... How have I never made this connection. I thought it was Strife as in the lateral movement in MMORPGs, I mentally connected to Upisnotjump as a "movement" name...
Hi josh just got done with the first rant about the need to move on to keep viewers. really enjoying the series I hate to see it go but you do you. and it was really fun experiencing Fallout NV with you. hope you have a good day/evening. and i will enjoy this series as long as it last.
While New Vegas is far from perfect (most of which is due to Bethesda's atrocious game engine, some of it is silly design choices, like temporary stat boosts), it is the best modern fallout for one simple fact: The developers actually CARED about the game. Fallout 3 is bland, and is carried entirely on the backs of maybe 3 characters, and Fallout 4 just got stripped of everything that makes a Fallout game a Fallout game. It's just a post-apocalyptic shooter/builder, not an indepth RPG.
I have found as the years pass,i support the Bull, just not the Legion Bull. The Bull of the Taurian Concordat. Hey Cappellans, Hippity hoppity, get off my property.
I love the Fallout 1-2 dev team, but many of their other projects have tended to be brilliant but with issues: Vampire the Masquerade, Fallout New Vegas...
I love josh but he is really stupid when it comes to understanding lore. dude did the whole dlc and understood half the story that was presented to him, if not less. + he doesn't pick the speech choices that actually matter to the story. sad to see him ignoring the story of the one guy that was mentioned in all the other dlc's + the main story at mojave express.
He's talking non stop and interacting with the audience, knowing full well that the twitch people don't have the mental fortitude to go through a ton of exposition text. It's a lot harder than it looks to multitask like that. 😉 (Also, it's a poor DLC execution-wise. It's hard to be kept interested when you "opponent" is all edge with no substance. Which is too bad, because it had a good premise, setting, voice acting, and companion. Sad it ended up being a corridor shooter.)
@@anarkisgaming Personally, i loved this dlc. It reminded me of a game I love which is stalker. the setting of the dlc was amazing ,but the trip to ulysses was repetitive and boring. Still I love it more than honest hearts which was very short and the sierra madre one which was too long. old world blues is the best tho.
@@sausage563 That's fair. I don't hate the DLC, it's more that it screams missed opportunity to me. But, hey, different shades of games (well, DLC) for different people :) And btw, yes the Stalker series is absolutely awesome! Good tastes!
Tbf, he does say himself that he isn’t able to fully immerse himself with any game he plays either on stream or for a video due to time constraints. It may be that he’s so used to it now that he does it subconsciously
I hate to say this but if it were not for Josh's personality this would be up there with the worst ever playthroughs of new vegas. I understand he's streaming and wants to keep things moving for viewers with low attention span but that doesn't really excuse his refusal to learn anything about the story or basic game mechanics. He wants to speedrun everything but spent way too much time reloading saves and not being able to use his brain to solve the easy hacking minigame. Alot of the time wasted could have been solved by just having some sort of build or just using the correct weapon types vs different types of enemies, having a build doesn't mean you have to min max either.. he started the playthrough role playing as a cowboy and should have at least just specced into one weapon type, but that role playing kind of ended quickly and was actually the most entertaining parts. Anyway I'm just massively disappointed because there is a reason this game is loved so much and generally considered the best fallout game.. but none of those things will have been experienced by josh in this playthrough. I know already before he's finished lonesome road that his favourite dlc will be old world blues due to the silly nature of it with the corny jokes etc, if you read this Josh please avoid playing games on stream that are known for their great writing because you have just as much attention span as your stream viewers and thats led to you completely butchering the game, making it seem like its a shit game quite frankly.
Idk man, seems like you have pretty high standards for how another person chooses to have fun (and provide that fun content to others for free). How about you go play by yourself in the corner and let the rest of us have a nice time over here? 😊
Nah, Josh did really good gameplay roleplaying Russ T milk. You just jealous of his overpowered build. pfff, pathetic attempt at "DO IT MY WAY , OR NOT AT ALL :CC!!!"
@@quanchis2880 Never said he did a bad roleplay. I'm not asking for him to play my way, he should play his way.. which is not having to rush the game to appease low attention span viewers. He said himself if playing off stream he would 100% the game so it's not me asking him to play "MY WAY"
He has ~72hrs of streaming this run recorded right now; that is not speedrunning by any stretch of the imagination. That is also not a "low attention span". Paying attention to something for 72hrs... Streamers are entertainers. The purpose is to hang out and have fun. Games with good writing are the perfect medium to roleplay in, why would that be an avoid? It's just like with IRL roleplaying games. Most people have ridiculous unserious characters with nonsensical goals, even if the setting is very serious and well-written.
I can understand it's not easy to handle the audience and gameplay and be immersed in the story all at the same time, but after so many years of experience I'd expect of Josh to automatically move forward if the grenade was launched behind him and to find cover when npc is shooting him directly, not just blindly run toward him and soak the bullets while reloading... for those who are interested, put at 4:58:55 and make your own thoughts on that part of combat gameplay... it made me turn the video off, for a moment it felt like watching asmongold "play". But, again, it's Josh... who the hell cares. Just expected a tiny, bit more from him :D

Everyone can play however they want to. Some of us are still going to wince whenever we see someone treating a Michelin Star meal like a Happy Meal.

excellent, just got done watching the last one on the third monitor
3:17:13 Gamer moment. The Milkman delivers.
Josh, what did you study in school that helps you identify tropes and motifs in video games like non-diegetic sounds?
Josh backing up his mmo aim with mmo dialog skipping and mmo safe spotting
Don't worry about your MMO aim - you compensate by spraying just fine.

If you continue the Peter Jackson analogy, then much like the Hobbit movies Josh's second channel is full of unnecessary filler content.

Comes across dozens of sentry bots
Just uses the revolver
suck it legion
