Thanks for posting the Nice video! One question, can we replace the seals ONLY instead replacing the entire cover? or use any substitute as to seal & prevent the oil to get over the spark plugs? I came to know from the auto mechanic the cost of the cover ranges from $200-300!
Damn I got a spark stuck the porcelain broke off and it's all stuck on the bottom so I can't get a socket around it to get it out. I tried duster in a can to blow out out but nothing any advice?
If you break a bolt on the cover. Can you replace it with just any bolt as long as its the right width, or do you have to get specifically made ones. I'm having trouble finding bolts
is that the pcv valve on the back side of the valve cover. sure looks like it could be one. really want to clean or replace mine in my spec v. same engine.
at 1 min you quickly mention to check that there's another gasket to check that that's not leaking inside. Which are you referring to and what would you see? Do you mean the gaskets around the plug assembly holes from which you withdrew the assemblies, or a gasket(s) the rod-like assembly you pulled out?
derp, i see oil on #2 ignition coil as he removed it and placed it out of the way... @1:13 and possibly #3 as well . needs a new valve cover since those spark plug tube seals aren't serviceable :( what crappy plastic parts!
My altima has this metal brace of some sort on the left side (2011) does anyone know what this thing is for, or if its okay to take it off? I don't think I can access the valve cover any other way.
why do some peeople say the 10mm bolts have to come of in a specific order/pattern - which is different than you did. starting on the far right end as #1 and then the far left end as #2, then right front corner as #3, etc. why would that make a difference?
They don't need to come out nor put back in in any order I done it so many times and perfectly fine but I do need to buy a new cover gasket and things will be much better
th-cam.com/video/JQmMdfEGweU/w-d-xo.html do you mean like this video? work your way from the inside to the outside? taking them off is a non-issue for the sequence. finding out if you also need new valve cover first is key, then you'll need to get both the plastic cover and gasket
anthony rosales I did. & it solved " that " issue. It's SUPER simple . On my 03 Altima - you need the whole piece. The gaskets come with it. but do be careful the new one , the gasket is kind of loose. But , my cat conv is messed up so , now I need new valves seals . That means also new head gasket. Labor / parts I was quoted 900$. 90$ to take the cat conv off. Take out the honey comb inside & put it back in. With the cat conv clogged it's backing up shit into the engine.
I got the same issue on 2006 nissan altima. Planne on just doing spark plugs but now im going to do valve cover and gasket. 1 3 and 4 were filled with oil.
Seems pretty easy to do. I'm changing the valve cover gasket for a friend and this video is perfect for my reference needs. Thanks so much!
my left ear really enjoyed the outro. thanks for the video helped me a lot to fix my car
lol

Is there anything like a Seal maker?
Supposed to do bolts in a certain order for equal distribution of tension as it loosens...then in reverse order when reassembling
Exactly.

My altima has 173,xxx and is burning a lot of oil. Another video on here said it would fix it if you get OEM cover and gasket. Any opinions?
burning oil usually means worn engine... piston rings/ blowby
edit, it may be a problem with the cover / o ring spark plug seals / pcv valve that's screwed into the back side of the valve cover
Did you ever get it fix i am having the same issue 😕
Okay but when applying the new one does it need to be lubricant or oiled? Real question I'm doing this myself
@@JessicaMitchell-d4v no just install it. I do try and clean the surface area on the head before reinstalling the valve cover.
So did you take out the spark plug gaskets as well?
how does the egine come out for a 2009 altima 2.5 up or with trans
You would't happen to have a video for a 2007 Nissan Altima for valve cover gasket replacement do you?
should be similar if you have the 4 cylinder engine
If you break a bolt on the cover. Can you replace it with just any bolt as long as its the right width, or do you have to get specifically made ones. I'm having trouble finding bolts
take one with you to make sure correct size/ thread pitch/ length... or goto a local nissan stealership

yep it's the pcv valve
Yes it is

Yes...
yes, you'll need a new valve cover it seems if you find oil in the spark plug wells... sux that they aren't serviceable
The valve cover is broken on the inside where u take out the spark plugs. Is there a way to replace those or do we have to get new valve cover
You have to get a new valve cover. Other vehicles you can buy just the gasket for spark plugs but nissan makes them into the valve cover.
derp, i see oil on #2 ignition coil as he removed it and placed it out of the way... @1:13 and possibly #3 as well . needs a new valve cover since those spark plug tube seals aren't serviceable :( what crappy plastic parts!
Exactly. This guy is clueless.

Kevin Alexander I have a 2010 and that's my same question
Motor mount brace. Support the engine before taking it off.
I'm having the same issue with my 2011. A metal bar in the way
would this be the problem if the car is blowing out thick smoke from the exhaust?
Depends wut color and smell... if its a really sweet smell then its the head gasket
Awesome man thanks. Better than a manual.
Can this cause the engine to shake
should not
Family Yang why does my battery and brake light flash on dash
Family Yang if it has oil on one of the coils then is that bad
Searcy Booker II you will get miss fired later on. you just need to change valve cover then problem should fix
TWAloha yeah thats kinda the problem I had got my ignition coils changed the guy said its a cracked head on a nissan altima 4 cylinder

You want to put them on in a certain order to make sure their tightened down at the same time. Side to side.

was this the vehicle you used Blue Devil on, and if so, how'd it work?
what does it mean when you pull the plug wire off and its soaked in oil?
The round seals on the cover are leaking - they are integrated into the cover so you have to replace the whole plastic cover.
@@stuntdriver2147 Yup same thing happened to my car when i went to check on spark plugs.
can you answer anyone's QUESTION(s)?
what's your question?
Can I get a year please?
Coil #1 & coil #4 both fell apart when taking out ( had to use a screw driver & plyers to get out. The wells were filled to the brim with oil.
Paul Wagner did you replace your valve cover? And did it help? I have the same issue
anthony rosales I did. & it solved " that " issue. It's SUPER simple .

I was misfiring & really hard starts. If anything I wouldn't start. I was probably only running on 1 or 2 coils & spark plugs. Lol.
I got the same issue on 2006 nissan altima. Planne on just doing spark plugs but now im going to do valve cover and gasket. 1 3 and 4 were filled with oil.
@@Ace-kp4fx ugh, i got a similar car recently, but i haveta do the rotted out oil pan first... adding this to my things to do
Having trouble finding the correct cover. They have too many screws, mine only has four on the bottom lol.
I just paid someone $150 to do this smh!!!! I literally could of done this myself!
is this engine a L4?
yea since all i saw was a 4 cylinder engine with him removing the 4 ignition coils
So what do you do if the leak IS on the ignition coils 😭😭😭
Antoinette Vazquez replace your valve cover
Why would you use an impact on a 12"# bolt?😂😂😂😂😂😂
my altima smells like burned something. you think it's this.
too easy....
