That's fucken great! What a genuine guy! Just awesome! His sound is the perfect mix of the Black Keys and the White Stripes! It has the White Stripe's chaoticness and unruliness mixed in with the Black Key's Riff beating - soulbound flow. Just awesome! Hope these guys get real far! Digging their sound - just found em today!!
Mario Cáceres this is what happens when you focus more on playing then you do on your equipment... you end up on rig rundown with no idea about your equipment outside the fact it sounds killer. I admire it.
Yeah.. he seems like a "Nice guy" That's Great !! But an Unreal, Oh my God ! How does he do that ? Kind of player ? Are you Kidding me ? Just being REAL. I think he has that possibility in him...
I know every single guitar and every single time he said it. Correct him maybe? So he doesn't sound well uninformed. It's the BRIDGE pup!!!! I hate that sound btw nasally. Sorry.
Chris Kies is a very gifted interviewer/host. Professional, but able to relate, and has a passion for what he's doing. Keep up the good work, Chris! And PG, give him a raise!
Most of the comments here are from so-called experts, haters or wanna-bes! Geez! I'm just glad to know some of these artists who have great attitude and gladly show their gears.
Would love to see more rig rundowns on the new bands coming out, its so cool to hear the new sounds, fresh minds get out of vintage gear with new gear ... very nice! Thanks PG
Saw them at the Metro last weekend. Great show. Welles was a great opener too! He played an SG with PAFs which had a great amount of grit and dirt, but it was a tight and controlled distortion. The Gibson Firebird with P90’s had a nice “roasted” sound to it. Less clean cut. Awesome video!
I recorded both Welles and BPF, if you want the audio to relive that awesome night. Nerdy hobby. I was watching this video and saw your comment, small world.
saw them last week in Biltmore great show! can not wait to see them again. Love that he name dropped my town of Asheville NC! hope they come back through Asheville soon . I have some videos of theirs on my channel along with some ALL THEM WITCHES
I think this guy is way down to earth and very cool, humble dude. thanks for the interview! who cares what the name is, he certainly knows how to use his gear which is what counts.
I own 2 Epiphone Casino's and they are great guitars stock. I put flat wounds 11's on one to get that really classic jazzy/vintage sound and 10s on the other. Epiphone is such an underrated guitar.
Never heard of these guys before but checked them out thanks to this video! Thanks for showing this! Seems like a down to earth cool guy which is always a plus!
Never heard of the player or band..found this clip doing a search for recent uploads of EPIPHONE CASINOS. I'm impressed that a MIK is his main axe! They are great guitars, I had one , but sold it for a Strat that I didn't bond with ...at all...now, looking for another Casino. Got to check this guys band out here on YT.
😊😊😊😊i have a left handed csino its great good looking guitar also i been singing and playing guitar over 55 years Epiphone guitars are great good price also
+Alexander Langer my wife's Canadian and she even knows that's not the neck pup. Because she's forced to listen to me talk about gear that she could care less about. They're very polite. Well sometimes. 😉
Hey guys, how do you control the feedback on the Casino! I jam with a few guys and every time i ad a bit of gain and volume on my Rocker Terror 15 it just feedback like crazy. I've heard of people stuffing the F holes with paper/rags etc, but how do BPF and Gary Clark Jnr make their Casino' growl with awesome fuzz without having the annoying feedback?
Michael Furman no not at all, just funny because he says that every 5 seconds. The band are awesome and he is a killer player so really who gives a fuck?
The "Solid State" Body & "Soapbox" pickups... O K.... Also, ESPECIALLY on a Hollow body. Most Good Guitar cable Manufacturers offer 90° angle 1/4 " connector on one end. This totally saves, Not only damage to Any Guitar, But makes "moving around" on stage (Or wherever) much easier! Not sure WHEN this "Plandemic" will EVER be Over... Ive been Recording & Touring for years. This TOTAL LOCKDOWN is Much more Deadly !!
"Yeah man" - Kevin McKeown, 2016
He's excited to talk about his gear. What would you say if someone took the time to talk to you about your gear - "No , man."?
I wasn't negative, he just said it a lot. I loved the rundown and the guy.
+Michael Furman I'd get my gear terms right. Neck pup is the one near the NECK. Solid state guitar? Funniest gear review ever.
Drinking game
Everytime he says "yeah" take a shot.
yeah man, that's right

I like Chris Kies. He sounds stoked and has a good speaking voice. More of him, please.
Man I love when they play through the rig and give examples of pedals in their songs!
Besides the mistakes naming things, the guy was really cool, achieved a great sound, and was very glad to show and share his stuff. Very interesting!

He doesn't give a shit about an amateur noticing mistakes. He has bigger fish to fry.
How about an updated rig rundown for Kevin on the new Deadbeat Graffiti tour?!? Pretty please?! 🙏😊🤘🏽⚡️🎸
I second this!
Love to play it on the neck pickup. (points at bridge pickup)
lol
polo y no lo es el mismo que a partirp el pop ooo ooo
I know every single guitar and every single time he said it. Correct him maybe? So he doesn't sound well uninformed. It's the BRIDGE pup!!!! I hate that sound btw nasally. Sorry.
3 times
I live in Austin and I’ve seen BPF prolly 20 times before they blew up. Met them several times. Super genuine guys. One of my favorite live bands.
Love Black Pistol Fire! Sweet to see a rig rundown of a guitarist who's part of a duo. That Casino is baller!!
Nice to see someone using epiphone guitars.
Chris Kies is a very gifted interviewer/host. Professional, but able to relate, and has a passion for what he's doing. Keep up the good work, Chris! And PG, give him a raise!
I LOVE IT WHEN THEY PLAY THERE GEAR THUMBS UP!
knew he was a jack white fan. probably why i like them so much
I love me a good soapbox neck pickup on my solid state body guitar
Lol😂
ROFL
Most of the comments here are from so-called experts, haters or wanna-bes! Geez! I'm just glad to know some of these artists who have great attitude and gladly show their gears.
i like this guy. you can tell he enjoys talking about his gear.
Would love to see more rig rundowns on the new bands coming out, its so cool to hear the new sounds, fresh minds get out of vintage gear with new gear ... very nice! Thanks PG
Win an Epiphone Sheraton just like Kevin's: www.premierguitar.com/blogs/4-win-stuff/post/24483-pg-giveaways-black-pistol-fire-epiphone-sheraton-ii-pro
You guys are awesome!
Thanks for your time kevin. You deserve far greater publicity.
I hadn't heard of this band before. I guess I know what I'm doing tonight then
I prefer the tube bodies over sold state guitar bodies.
Lol
Lol!!
Never heard them before but based on Kevin's personality I will seek them out.....very chill attitude!
Saw them at the Metro last weekend. Great show. Welles was a great opener too!

Stumbled across this guy on Spotify this morning... today is a good day! Thanks for the killer riffs dude 🤙
saw them last week in Biltmore great show! can not wait to see them again. Love that he name dropped my town of Asheville NC! hope they come back through Asheville soon . I have some videos of theirs on my channel along with some ALL THEM WITCHES
Great rig rundown. Love that he gave actually playing examples.
awesome band, awesome sound, awesome upbeat attitude to the noise he is making
"Yeah man"
That solid-state Gibson with the soap boxes, set all the time right back on the neck pickup! (mini humbuckers not man enough)!
+Derek soooooo he should know the name of the tools he uses for a living at least as well as an amateur.
I think this guy is way down to earth and very cool, humble dude. thanks for the interview! who cares what the name is, he certainly knows how to use his gear which is what counts.
Loves the drive channel on a Fender DeVille?! Now that's a first.
I own 2 Epiphone Casino's and they are great guitars stock. I put flat wounds 11's on one to get that really classic jazzy/vintage sound and 10s on the other. Epiphone is such an underrated guitar.
Yesssss!!! I've been looking forward to this video for so long.
Awesome sound, thanks for the run down and will be keeping an eye our of these guys for sure.
Take a shot every time Kevin says "yeah, man" (DISCLAIMER: Don't do it, you'll die of alcohol poisoning)
Never heard of these guys before but checked them out thanks to this video! Thanks for showing this! Seems like a down to earth cool guy which is always a plus!
That 57 Gretch is sick.
Awesome band...
Casino is my number 1 as well....I love his guitar collection there....that's a sweet looking Gretsch
I love that he uses working class gear. Very cool rig rundown!
Nice!! He's got the solid state body with soap box pickups!!!
Great interview. I like the band and think Kevin is down to earth and cool. No arrogance in that guy!
Need to an updated video on the latest gear he’s using!
Never heard of the player or band..found this clip doing a search for recent uploads of EPIPHONE CASINOS. I'm impressed that a MIK is his main axe! Good stuff, love this band!
Awesome middle class rut shirt another fantastic duo as well props
oh yeah gibson just gave me this firebird!
3:00 "solid state body"
😂
It's live, sometimes your words get mixed up. He plays it like a boss, he can call it whatever he wants.
It's live, sometimes your words get mixed up. He plays it like a boss, he can call it whatever he wants.
Michael Furman Take it down a notch Joyce...Nobody put him or his playing down. It was a funny mix up is all.
+LKJ 69 +1 on that
By neck pickup he actually means the BRIDGE pickup. Just saw them in CA, and he was riding the bridge the entire show.
Is it possible he has had his switch reversed between the neck and bridge pickups? I' have seen that on guitars already.
😊😊😊😊i have a left handed csino its great good looking guitar also i been singing and playing guitar over 55 years Epiphone guitars are great good price also
Nice set-up. Thanks : -)
I'm thinking he means Bridge pickup? But hey, Solid-state bodies is a nice change.
Folks from Canada are just different... ;-)
+Alexander Langer We apologize...
+Alexander Langer my wife's Canadian and she even knows that's not the neck pup. Because she's forced to listen to me talk about gear that she could care less about. They're very polite. Well sometimes. 😉
Great guy, great taste
Great band!
You guys have to do a rundown for Guns n' Roses!
Love these guys.
Yeah! Love this guys! They´re awesome!!
Yea man
love em saw them in nyc
Changed the tubes maybe twice since 99'? I'm sorry but what??
Ha! @ 1:15 had to do the same thing to the input jack on my 94 mik Sheraton
Cool tone on intro song
Do they reverse pickup selectors in Canada? This isn't the first Canadian I've seen mix this up.
Haha no.
Was this before that 70's show?
I love that he's got the bass at 10 on the Super! Outstanding.
How about a David Gilmour gear run while he is still on the road?
neck P90 sharp?
They sound like the black keys !!!
it's funny when people refer to "things" as "this guy" lol!
Yeah, man
Why does he keep referring to the bridge pickup as the neck pickup?
I s'pose me meant to say, bridge pick up when he pointed to the P90 ?
Wanna know about that copper mic ??
cool rig! siiiiiic pants!
I've got a sweet early 90's sheraton II which I love. However I can hear this weird frequency when I record it.. any ideas?
New drinking game: take a shot every time he says "yeah man"
Liver failure incoming
Can you fault a guy for enthusiasm about what he does?
Michael Furman
no not at all, just funny because he says that every 5 seconds. The band are awesome and he is a killer player so really who gives a fuck?
I love solid state bodies
Cool band! But I had a twitch every time he called the bridge pickup - neck and vice versa
Bridge pickup, not neck.
More run downs like this
Sold when he said he's a fan of Jack White
I wonder if he knows the difference between the neck and bridge.
I'm thinking no.
That is a big ceiling fan.
Please do Two Door Cinema Club !!!!
Does anyone knows how to make the daisy chain with the amps?
Running a deville through a twin? What?!
He uses the deville as a preamp, then uses the twin as his power amp
has anyone done a "yeah man" counter
Adam Cole BAYBAY
Either Iron Maiden or Sixx:AM
Please start using Marshalls Kevin.. That'll do you good.
what r those shoes?
I'm new in Asheville... WHERE THE FUCK DID HE GET THAT GRETSCH
wonder how badly chris wanted to correct him. I mean after saying neck pup like 3 times referring to bridge anyway lol, whatever

Man that epiphone sounds like dirt. Great rundown nevertheless
That's the point with his music...
can anyone give me an ID on kevins boots? thanks
Please, do Jimmy Page somehow.
RIP South Austin Music
