Unbelievable, shocking, and reckless.
Great video. The guy reacted properly and used the pepper spray as intended. The roommate was lucky to have a sensible good guy. Good suggestion about the "bump in the night" belt. I don't recall your using that term before.
Ideally, you want to respond to a bump in the night with a 12ga. Short of that a belt is great! And no matter how many westerns I've seen, I never really appreciated how nice it is to just throw on the belt.
You are absolutely correct that roommate is an complete liability. You've said it before not only should we train for a self defense situation but we also have to remember to train those who are with us for one as well. I think we tend to forget to do that.
The guy with the gun is the poster child of restraint & control under pressure, even if his weapon handling was maybe slightly loose around the edges, having potentially put his toes in peril. Full points still! A great teacher

Ok I have watched many videos by ASP and they are usually very good in the suggestions. Here when it is INSIDE the home, having gun in hand is priority when you do not know what is behind the other wall. The good guy here shows good gun handling techniques, keeping it pointed in safe directions while looking for the problem. This also indicated he did not have his finger on the trigger as well. Then him switching from the gun to pepper spray shows he is exactly aware of what is needed to resolve such a problem. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Oh man this happened to an old buddy of mine. He got pass out drunk, walkied into the wrong appartment and fell a sleep on their couch. The people actuall recognized his drunk ass and covered him up and let him sleep it off. Hes since past away. No shocker. He lived on the line.
Good job Duwanee - Everyone thats saying get rid of roomate... That could also be a friend and maybe he should help educate him for these types of situations not just for now but for anything that could happen in the future...... Getting rid of a person is a lengthy process but if that person could be taught to make better decisions he could be an asset...
I like how this guy kept his head in it, he kept his firearm down and ready, assessed the situation, then made the decision it didn't require lethal force.
@@stewiegriffin88 I have to concur. I’d rather run barefoot than fumble with flip flops. But I don’t live in town, so don’t have the luxury of concrete everywhere…
Thanks for advice to use thumb on OC spray. My dispenser encourages this, but sympathetic squeeze argument is rather strong. Now to stage my HD gun in OWB holster on quick donning belt. Among other things belt means having additional ammo and any other desired tools staged as you like them. May even include ifac as that need can easily be as immediate as need for arms.
Goes to show, if you're this kind of a drunk, it'd be in your best interest not only for your liver and pancreas, but also so you don't get yourself needlessly killed or worse get someone else killed because of your criminal negligence and lack of impulse control. Know yourself, if you can't handle your alcohol, than don't hit the bottle in the first place. As for the defender, excellent use of the pepper spray with your lethal on standby. Kudos!!
For 8 years I was an electric meter reader and twice I had homeowners come out with a gun to see who was in their backyard. It’s probably a good thing I don’t have to do that anymore. One time the guy was a MP at Carswell AFB and had a big Doberman Pincher guard dog who came exploding out of the dog door running straight at me with him buckling on his m1911 running behind him.
Duwanee is the ideal gun owner. Smart enough to know when it was not necessary. He chose a more appropriate deterrent and ordered his roommate to get back inside the house.
Blessed him with the OC ✊🏾 Mike was getting his butt whipped. Great tactical lesson here 🫶🏾 Another lesson flip flops and slides are no bueno for fighting IJS
Room mate just took advantage of the drunk neighbor to beat him up😂 but on a serious note the prudent homeowner was smart and showed great restraint. Thanks to him all turned well.
I don't know if you've ever reviewed Hawg Holsters (also in AZ) but they have some lightweight holsters utilizing an ulti-clip making it easy to connect to active wear, PJs, sports pants or shorts. Maybe give them a look, John, as an alternative to a "bump in the night belt" to a simple bump in the night holster. I have some. I like them. And they ship fast. They are usually at my house in OH in about 4-5 days.
Roommate is EVIL…. Roommate shouldn’t be the roommate no more. If You invite someone into my house where such person could harm me or my family, and if you are trying to use me as a tool to use my self defense tool to punish someone, NOPE - You are GONE right there and then… My tools are to defend my life and the life of my family, if and in case that is the last resort to stop an imminent threat of death or great bodily injury… And we Pray to GOD to NEVER, NEVER have to use it and indeed hope to Never use it…

Did the Room-Mate open the door to the criminal and let him inside the house...so his "Friend" would be forced to shoot him?...I heard the invitation and it seemed like he wanted to fight
Yes, because the roommate saying that is what caused the intruder to break the law. Makes sense.
Exactly. Jerk move.

I love the fact that Duwanne choose a less lethal means of dealing with this situation , the room mate seems like a hot head
And relegated the use of less-lethal to his support hand, with thumb activation.
