Hydrangea are my favourite flowers. Their beauty is just incomparable. My grandma used to carry their name so I'm even more attached to them. I wanted to grow a hydrangea in my apartment too but they are so sensitive to the environment that mine died after one day of having them. So don't be too disappointed if that happens to your flowers too. Have a good day!❤

you know what your journals are the best by seeing your journals i got motivated and i have started making my own journals ♡
별수국도 그런지는 잘 모르겠지만, 수국은 심는 토양의 성질에 따라 꽃의 색이 나누어진다고 해요. 별수국은 예쁜 분홍빛인데 오늘의 다이어리는 산성 토양에서 핀 수국처럼 푸른빛이네- 하고 혼자 그런 생각을 했어요😌😌 서랍장을 푸른 느낌으로 새로 꾸민다고 하셨을 때 단순히 파란색 오브제들로 채우시겠구나! 하자마자 녹색 원단들이 등장해서 눈을 번쩍 떴어요. 파란색보다도 녹색이 계절감 있는 푸름에 더 와닿는 느낌이라 신기했답니다. 올리브 가지 모형이 가지고 싶으셨는데 올리브 나무를 분양해오셨다는걸 지난 댓글에서 보고서 작은 정원이 된 아라님의 집을 상상했어요. 하나 둘 셋 늘어가는 식물들 덕분에 아라님 댁에서는 여름이 보다 푸르를 것 같아요.
저는 올해 초 학기가 시작하면서 졸업하고 나면 요란한 염색은 아무래도 할 수 없게 되겠지... 라는 핑계로 과감히 탈색을 했었는데, 최근에 노랗게 방치하던 머리를 파란색으로 셀프염색했어요! 혼자 하려니 얼룩진 곳도 있고, 어디는 파란색인데 어느 부분은 녹색이라 난리도 아니지만 그래도 마음에 쏙 들어요! 혼자 한 생각이지만은 여러가지 색으로 염색이 된게 오히려 바다같고 더 시원한 느낌이 들더라구요. 아라님께서도 녹빛과 푸른빛으로 꾸며진 것들과 함께 시원한 여름 보내시길 바라요. 오늘 영상은 제때 볼 수 있어 기뻤습니다 늘 좋은 영상 감사드려요🥰🥰
아, 저도 수국 색깔과 토양에 대해 블로그에서 읽은 적이 있어요~! 근데 외우진 못해서 어떤 땅에서 파란색이고 어떤 땅에서 분홍색인지 늘 헷갈렸는데 산성에서 푸른색이군요☺💙윤서님 덕분에 확실히 알았답니다. 별수국도 아마 색이 변할 것 같은데 제가 아직 초보 식물집사라서 흙을 산성으로 바꾸진 못할 거 같아요ㅠㅠ 내년쯤? 잘 키워보고 한번 시도해보겠습니다 >.< ㅎㅎ
첨엔 서랍위를 파란색 오브제로 채우려고 했어요, 어떻게 아셨죠?!🤩그러다가 오늘의집에서 포스터를 고르는데 울창한 나무 아래의 벤치 그림이 너무 마음에 들더라구요~ 그래서 계획을 변경해서 원단도 녹색으로 샀답니다 :) 마음에 드신다니 저도 기뻐요💚
오오 셀프 염색이라니 대단하세요!👍😆 게다가 파란색과 녹색이라 정말 근사할 것 같아요~ 저는 혼자 염색할 때도 (몇번 해본적은 없지만) 탈색하지 않고 그냥 갈색 염색약을 발랐더니 티가 잘 안 나더라구요ㅠㅠ 역시 선명한 컬러를 위해선 탈색이 먼저군요! 제 상상으론 윤서님의 헤어컬러가 푸른빛과 초록빛의 그라데이션 같을 것도 같고, 수채화처럼 예쁜 물빛일 것 같아요~ 여름에 많은 부러움을 사실듯😍
5월 중순쯤 되니 집앞 산들도 완전히 초록초록해졌어요. 8월의 불볕더위를 생각하면 망설여지지만, 그래도 조금만 더 따뜻해져서 슬리퍼 바람으로 집 앞에서 노천 캔맥주를 마시고 싶은 바람이에요ㅎㅎ 윤서님도 즐거운 상상하시며 건강히 보내시기 바랍니당!😚💞

The bead bracelet is simple and nice. In the past, I did lots of beading with various techniques and love Japanese beading book they havd clear diagrams but don't understand the text. Daiso sell beads kit in both English and Japanese language. Hydrangea reminds of Summer the weather is getting warmer with more sun. You paint with watercolours very well I still find difficult as hard to control and paint. I jump on different projects but always see them through completion. I haven't done much of decorative journaling too busy making books. I still haven't perfect blank journal yet. I really enjoy your videos they are inspiring.

I think that your decorating will inspire you further. The star hydrangea that you've got is so pretty😍- I don't think I've ever seen one, but I think if I do I will have to seriously consider buying it. The last hydrangea I tried to grow was like a zombie🧟♀️. It died😵 and came back🧟♀️ several times looking worse than before😵🧟♀️😵🧟♀️😵🧟♀️😵😵😵😵. But I've learned more about plants since then. I'm still a little wary of growing plants that need acidic soil though.
I've been thinking of hydrangeas lately. This is because I saw a shrub with flowers that have a similar faded type colour to hydrangea blue👀, and I know them from my childhood but I couldn't remember the name🤔😓. I kept thinking about them, and even noticed that one of our neighbours' hydrangeas are still in bloom( they have huge amazing hydrangeas in blue, purple and pink and every year their flowers look wonderful. I want to know what they do, but they live several streets away so I don't even know who lives there).
Finally I decided to look on Pinterest under all the flower names I thought it could be. Haha😅... my guesses were so wrong! I did find it though: "Cape Leadwort". It's not a particularly pretty name, but it's a pretty shrub and I remember the scent being nice.
You did a great job recreating the hourglass on paper. I also find glass is difficult to express. There are so many things to be thinking of because it is glass: transparency, texture, reflections, distortions and what's inside, around it and on the other side. It feels almost like you could have a headache trying to think of all those elements.
Your bead bracelet was very cute and cheery. Don't be disappointed that it takes long. Beadwork takes a lot of time and concentration even for masters of the craft. Our housekeeper who used to look after my parents house from when we were little comes from a culture where beadwork is very important: the Ndebele culture. She had learned the beadwork skills that not very many people still had, so lots of her family often asked her to help them. She also has four children, and 3 of them are daughters. For their coming of age ceremonies she had to make a lot of beadwork jewellery and garments. It would take her about 2 years to make the items for one daughter! And she still has to make their wedding items and then the items for her grandchildren. She would get so upset when she would accidentally put one blue bead in when it was supposed to be all black and she would have to rip several layers back. She says it's been very difficult for her eyes over the years, but she continues because of her love for her family and culture.
I see that Coco🐈 is still wearing the bandage to help with scratching. Is it helping? How is the skin on his neck? I hope he feels more comfortable soon. I know pets don't like keeping bandages on😿.
It's really lovely that you chose to do a watercolour theme too, this week. I think you expressed the colours of the hydrangea well. It's a very particular blue that is hydrangea blue. I really admire how you've progressed with your watercolour skill👩🏻🎨. Last week I went to a craft market, and I had a close look at the watercolour paintings for sale. I think at this point, Ara, that you have the skill to be able to sell your work and people will buy it💖.
I feel like you've inspired me to work on my journal today. I was lacking ideas and direction a bit. So much so that I ended up buying... 43 wood stamps and a few mildliners on Aliexpress the other day🙃.

That's right, plants that require acidic soil are difficult to grow. Two years ago, when I was going to buy hydrangeas at a florist, the florist stopped me. She told it's very difficult for the newbie and she was afraid I would kill it. Eventually at another florist I bought a hydrangea and finally killed it😱😭😥 I couldn't buy it for a while because I've been feeling sorry and guilty about it ever since. My friend gave me a star hydrangea last week and I studied a lot. I've heard that hydrangeas need a lot of water, but I shouldn't overwater them. And although they need sunlight, they will burn if exposed to direct sunlight. It's still hard... But I'll try to be responsible and work hard!✨
I searched the Cape Leadwort picture you mentioned. It's a very pretty blue flower🌺💙💙 I don't know the scent because it's a plant that doesn't exist in Korea, but somehow it smells like acacia :) Lucky to hear from you about new plants!
And the news about the housekeeper who has continued to decorate with beads is also really interesting, it takes two years for one item! Oh My God😲 I think she is a true craftsman👍👍 Her beading must be a luxury item. Her time, hard work, and her love for her family deserve respect.

So far there are no more snakes. I'm still being careful about looking where I step👀👀👣. Especially since some days are still quite warm- we even still have lots of rose blooms🌹🌹🌹🌹. The plants looked like they were getting ready to slow down for winter🥀 and then suddenly they had lots of flowers again🌹🌹🌹🌹.
I actually started to plant the bulbs today, but I underestimated the size of the empty pot I am using and I need a bit more potting soil that I hope to get tomorrow👩🏾🌾🌱🌱. Thankfully I saw no creatures near or in my gardening things. The problem now is that Google keeps suggesting stories about snakes in my news feed...😶 usually about Black Mambas that are found in scary places near the neighbourhoods where my relatives live.
But I'm thankful it's not the same as it was a few years ago when my whole city was paranoid because a Black Mamba went missing from the zoo for months🥴. Someone had attempted to steal a python( in a very idiotic way too🙄😤), so they thought it may have been stolen, but when it didn't seem that way they thought it just escaped.
For months people were talking about it to the point that it became a joke even though we were scared. Someone even made a twitter account pretending to be the snake.
In the end they found the snake was actually still at the zoo in the ceiling of it's own enclosure🤦🏽♀️. It went to hibernate there. Somehow it squeezed in even though it was very big.
Still, every time anyone saw a snake even if they were far away from the zoo, they wondered if it was the zoo snake.
I don't know what I'm going to do about storage🤔. It's an ongoing problem I have for all my hobbies. But with journaling, I've been thinking about getting a European style bureau desk.
My mom discovered a workshop near her office that restores and sells wood furniture. I went there to see it for myself and it's a place I will definitely go back to. Their prices are very good, and there are even some very beautiful antique secretaires and escritoires available. Normally, these items would be crazily expensive, but this place is a charity organization that helps people get work skills after rehabilitation, so they offer very good prices. I even saw antiques that were in excellent condition but cost way less than new furniture that's made with inexpensive materials. I'll keep looking at them in the future until I find something that may be good for me.
My mom also advised looking at another antique store we have been browsing at for years. She said that the last time she was there, she spoke a lot to the owner and even got invited along to his birthday lunch that day, haha😅. It seems that in our area, they've had to lower the prices of antiques quite a bit in the past few years. Normally, I would only consider small items from this store because all their items are very good quality pieces, and then only if I was looking for a special gift. But it seems that now one can get very lucky if they look these days🤷🏽♀️.
