I'm not sure when was the first time when I heard song from them, but since my dear Turkish (a distant land far, far away) girl shared a song from them to me, I've been in the rabbit hole.
I never tire of this track. For three minutes and fifty seven seconds I'm in a sort of blessed dissociative fugue, forgetting where I am, who I am, not caring what happens next as I'm momentarily trapped in it's crystalline jet blackness. In truth I could stay there forever and it would be alright. Such is the power of Archive.
What the others said. Even if the album turns out to not be great, I am ALWAYS more happy to see Archive pushing new territory and trying new sounds. Worst case scenario is them releasing 4-5 albums that sound the exact same. I'll always prefer a False Foundation to a Restriction.
Update: We got a weird one, and a polished weird one. It's like the sonics of False Foundation in a frame reminiscent of Controlling Crowds. It's amazing. Give it a listen, seriously. It's even got a moment in there which reminds me of SWANS which I was NOT expecting.

In my eyes the only band I am listening to, that puts their music and art first, who does not celebrate a starcult, a band of excellent musicians, where it’s always a joy to experience them live. For our own sake I am happy that they are not mainstream - so they can stay true to themselves. Not many bands nowadays who can create the way Archive does - they come from a different time, a different era ….

The band was established the same year I was born. 1993 and ever since Ive heard them for the first time, back in 2015 I think? or whenever the first cyberpunk teaser dropped, with "Bullets" I was completely taken away by their music. All of it! Every single Song and Album. I feel like I have some sort of connection. Somehow they keep hitting the perfect spot. Helped me throughout my entire live so far (which is pretty shitty and was very hard at times, you all know what I mean, I'm sure)
