- This was a part of my twitch stream earlier today.
I was speedrunning Side Order for like 15 hours straight. This was the final and also fastest game of the night. Side Order beaten in 6 minutes and 21 seconds from a completed file (NG+).
I will continue to speedrun Splatoon 3 Side Order in the following days and weeks! So i hope you enjoy it-

With how quickly the crab tank tears down portals. I imagined that the high fire rate from DJ’s kit would be the best.
I know I used it and let’s just say there’s a reason why I don’t use that weapon 😅
@@Jo87654 Yeah wall and Booyah bomb are not great in this mode. They should’ve given it any other sub and splash down since you’ll be throwing the bomb at your feet anyway. You really just need a refill and some room from your special. Sprinkler is a better wall as it’s cheaper, doesn’t get destroyed dealing damage to enemies walking over it, and paints which this weapon sometimes really needs.
Tried it but you will need quick charge.
Triple inkstrikes and splashdown are best, preferabky triple splashdown because panic
@@potatosoup8019 Yeah the only downside to strikes is that they’re slow, take your main away, and doesn’t have a barrier like Booyah. But it’s a gamble whether or not the first hit you take when falling will be blocked. I kinda dislike Booyah bomb being in 3. It seems like a better strike with a slightly different purpose. Back line weapons that could use the strike pretty well were given Booyah bomb instead like the hydra.
Favorite thing about side order is that the color chips make every weapon fun to play. As a casual player, in octo expansion I kind of veered away from using weapons I’m not as good with or was annoyed when I did end up using them, but in SO having the right chips makes any weapon super fun and rewarding

I like how the “Floor Clear!” theme gets more intense with more instruments every 10 floors. It’s the little things that make this an amazing game!!

the small details the dev team adds just makes the experience so much better!
and the end theme is the music version of it !
A trick I found, triple inkstrike balls stick onto the marciale, so if you throw one onto it that's a guaranteed hit.
fun fact: in the audio files the pinging marciale sings fly octo fly and the asynchronous rondo sings ebb and flow
As soon I got charger, this dlc became a breeze

Ngl with how fast the stringer shreds portals I thought it would be the fastest but I guess you can’t compete with a literal death laser

I loved using the charger in Side Order. I got enough chips until the charge up was instant and then I just wiped out every floor

Holy crap, that was insane! I'm thinking about starting speedrunning this game now...
So it says six minutes... But the video is around 20? Has it already been decided by the community that speed runs will be based off added the floor timers instead of real time? Or... You know, that could just be two different categories.

ng+ uses in game time, new game uses rta from what I've heard
Yes we use the in game timer for NG+ (completed file) speedruns
but other categories like Any% (New File), or All Palettes use Real Time (RTA)
I’m honestly surprised the charger works so well for this- my first win was with max fire speed Luna blaster lol

One time I had murch’s blaster and I had the best color chips it became basically made anything that was in its way disappear
You can take out the Asynchronous Rondo faster by shooting the top layer (when it’s in range) and all the other layers below it will blow up instantly and end the battle
Yeah I figured that out after the run, you need to defeat layer 3, 6, and 9 for it to blow up (those layers are highlighted slightly different)
@@Dvard oh ok I'm doing a drone run rn so lemme take out layer 3 and 9 but ignore layer 6 see if that's true

Wow I thought I got pretty lucky getting the chips I wanted early on for a 19m 36s blaster run but this was more impressive in execution
at 23:51 when you ran out of ink, would it shave off a bit more time if you popped special and regained a full ink tank?
probably not because you have to throw all inkstrikes before you can continue using the charger, if it was something like splashdown or killerwail then it would probably save time

Not sure if this matters too much for you, especially given you kept this loadout the whole time, but if you managed to get triple splashdown, I feel like its a slightly better and quicker special than tri strike, but more importantly, it lets you rise up in the air to get the key from layered rotator a little faster lmao

looked through the wiki but cant find it, normally "#12.2 awakened" plays in the elevator, but after 20F i don't know

too much homing shots can be a disadvantage on some levels, i want some control of my aim too

i took a few breaks yes- but it was a 15h long stream lol, the game is just so fun

@@cereusily7608 oh I didn't even notice that, I thought they were rerolling for good pickups but the actual objective makes a lot more sense
yeah i was pretty late into the speedrun so that upgrade doesnt help as much as it would earlier, and because it was a tower level i just skipped it instead after thinking about it-
if it had been a Quick-Charge Tower-Level earlier on though i would pick it just because quick charge is that good

Random question but what exactly does ng+ mean
NG+ comes from the phrase "New Game +" which means playing the game on a completed file - so a NG+ speedrun is when you play the game on a completed file, generally because the game has given you upgrades after you completed the game.
so in this scenario it's an NG+ run because we don't start from a new file, and we allow the "Marina's Hacks" upgrades
I defeated the final boss in 1:16.25 (1 min and 16 sec)
What means NG?
NG means New Game - but NG+ means New Game Plus, which means playing on an already completed file

What’s the fastest way to farm Prlz for hacks?
just play charger and rig runs with the floor reset hack if you have it
You try to get as many of the same color chip in a row, the game will give you so many extra prlz at the end of your run for that, was able to get over 700 prlz in one run yesterday with that strat

I beat it with Charger in 20:57. Still pretty fast, but nothing compared to the world record. I was actually faster with the Stringer at 18:50 which is my fastest clear time yet.

Anyone who puts boss spoilers in the thumbnail so quickly after it released is not cool, at least wait a bit like geez
i can understand that but the thumbnail makes no sense for someone who hasn't beaten the game yet, it's so obscured and not very identifiable + this character never shows up until then so i thought it was fine - it's more of a thumbnail for those who already know what the final boss is

The world record as of right now is a 4m 28s by umamizu - or a 4m 01s time by okokookopo if you allow retrying a run.
Meh. Not a legit speedrun. He’s using a hack to reset the choices to get an easy room. Also the time it takes for him to make a decision counts. Not the in game clock. This is not even close to a Legit speed run. His time is over 25 minutes as the video shows. And even then the hack doesn’t make this legit. Fail try again.
I have other side order speedruns, my latest two videos don't use the in-game timer, and the 2nd to last video doesn't "reset the choices" - but for this speedrun category that is just how you optimally play

i mean technically the gameplay is only 6:21, i just spend 18 minutes selecting upgrades and in loading screens - but yeah 6 minutes RTA would be crazy
