On Twitter, I made a joke within my replay to Cinemassacre's account there. "What's next you can play Doom off a toilet?" Funny enough, this morning they done a very short showcasing my joke in a nut shell.
I remember I had the SNES version as a kid and loved it, could never get any further than level 3 tho haha. Also didn't know there was a PS1 version until I watched Caddicarus' video on it....nor did I know bout the Gameboy Advance version either. really cool

According to John Romero himself, "there was no music in the Jaguar port because there were no resources (memory and CPU) for it to happen." Contradicting Sandy Petersen with this. Btw, cool to see John Romero working with James! Also actually someone made Doom running on a C64... with a few hardware expansions and it looks like... well... vomit and shit mixed together. And it's extremely slow. But it works! AND! HAS MUSIC!
Happy Halloween! Played Wolfenstein 3D as my first game at age 4! Started off hardcore! Though it was actually Doom 2 that I actually got a bit far into, but man those Revanents SCARED ME with those screams when one appeared in front of you when you opened a door! Even hid under my bed when it happened. Good times. 😄
When I saw the DOOM movie with The Rock, I saw the BFG. Naturally, I said Big Fucking Gun! Later in the movie when The Rock got it, he said the same thing I said.
The original video just got age-restricted based on Community Guidelines. I think that's a first for any AVGN episode, at least for the ones uploaded by the official Cinemassacre TH-cam channel.
Doom is why I love programming. It's one of the coolest aspects of the game and it's probably the most important aspect of all gaming. Programmers are literal wizards they can put it on anything they want. They could pretty much do anything they want in general with the right programmer and the right expertise. Lot of people talk crap about John carmack for firing half the Doom staff. But programming-wise that guy's one of my heroes the Doom engine is what made me want to become a programmer and he's the one who programmed that engine. And the Wolfenstein engine and the ID tech 3 and the ID tech 4. And of course ID tech 5 which was used in games like Wolfenstein New order and rage in the six version was used on Wolfenstein 2 New Colossus which he had nothing to do with but it's still a great engine.
John Romero is an absolute genius. There was a story behind the last boss level Icon Of Sin involved the backward satanic sound done by Bobby Prince, then the head of John Romero on a spike and the chest code to go inside the Icon Of Sin which you could check it out on BigMacDavis channel walkthrough video of Doom 2 Hell on Earth, he explains it well.
Man Doom is still an awesome game series and one of the best FPS's out there, also we need a Doom mod where you play as the Nerd shooting shitty games lol.

And guess what, I beat the 1st Doom game! 😃 All episodes, including the extras! Haven't beat the 2nd game yet, that one was a bit more challenging. But I really like the the 2nd shotgun in the 2nd game because that one kills the enemy in one shot! 😃😉🙂

One of my favorite mods of doom is the mario mod. I have yet to try out the batman mod and zelda mod. A friend of mine told me there is mod that replaces one of the enemies with Barney.
i only ever played the snes port its a great game yeah but didnt know there was a doom 2 and sadly not on the snes but its on the GBA so i can play it on that and not bad the first one looks for a portable and omg some ports are bad indeed insane

Funny story....I used to work with people who have played Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, a whole bunch of Triple-A Games, but the instant I bring up Doom Eternal, they're like "What's that?"....I'm not joking, people out there have no frigging clue what Doom or at the very least Doom Eternal is....That felt like the most alien thing I have ever heard of, and many of these people were in their thirties...that's depressing, yet hilarious...I call it deprarious

You think that’s crazy someone made a doom game with a chainsaw. Not a toy chainsaw,but a real life chainsaw. Of all the ports PS1 is the best one of all the ports. Even though the PS1 version doesn’t have the copyrighted music,but it’s original music is still good. Give credit to the composer who did the work on the PS1 version of Doom. Seriously listen to it on TH-cam and then judge it for yourself.

I believe due to time constraint the developer for Jaguar console they didn't add the music for Doom games.
