- After leaving La Guancha in Ponce I stopped on the highway to buy quenepas. Very good. Then I headed to Peñuelas and then to Guayanilla, two towns which I have never visited before. With my DJI Phantom 4 drone I was able to record the surrounding areas from the air. Peñuelas had a lot of Flamboyan trees and is known as the capital of the guiro.

The Mountains are just stunning
what a beautiful, clean little town. My family is from Lares, I've never been to Penuelas, going to have to make a trip there next time.
Im revisiting this video to see the town I love with all my heart and soul. Ovi once again I can't thank you enough for this footage. I wish I was there right now. At least I can watch these videos. God bless Puerto Rico, and God bless Peñuelas where my Mom and grand parents and great grandparents etc are all from. They lived on a finca in el sector Mato. I wasn't born there but the times that I have visited the island I can't put into words how intensely the love I feel for this town is. It's as if I was born there and I've been away for so very long. When I last visited PR, 2015 I remember when the day came for our flight back to the main land I became so upset, it was dare I say, heart crushing? Sound a bit ridiculous? Over dramatic? Hey I'm right there with you, but I can't explain it, it just was so Intense. It was as if I was leaving my love not knowing if I'd ever return to see her again. Man it hurt deeply is what I'm attempting to convey, more than I expected. In fact the emotions took me by surprise. I need to get back there. I need to be there because my heart still cries out for me to be in Peñuelas.

Ovi, thanks for showing all the awesome places I never knew existed inPR. I was born in Humacao and raised in NYC. I did visit often but it was always about visiting family. Much later as an airline employee I was lucky enough to visit frequently, but never knew about some of the places you have depicted. I also follow Hayden and Jenny. You three are my favs as you each bring a different take on La Isla. You've made me believe it really is La Isla De El Encanto. Keep on showing the beauty of our home.
Thank you. Some of these places are new to me too. Always wanted to visit all 78 towns and am doing it now, slowly but surely. I live in Jersey, so my time on the island is limited but I am on a mission.

Siempre recuerdo a Peñuelas por las ruinas de la refinería que mostraste al final. Es imposible no impresionarse al pasar por ellas en tantos viajes rumbo al oeste de la isla.

Chinchorreando eh? When I was visiting Sonora México they had some unusual sayings too. The most original accent and vocabulary in Spanish that I've ever heard was from the old mountain people in New Mexico. They say petaquero for baúl or maletero. I guess petacas we're hand bags almost like suit cases or carpet bags. In the old days those old cars had actual trunks ...also they say ¡TRUCHAS! for LOOK OUT! In old México they usually say aguas and I always just said cuidao (cuidado) I'm not Hispano pero ... culturalmente sí 😁 👍 bueno pues, thanks again for taking us on tour with you. 🇵🇷 PR is very beautiful!
Yes, el chinchorreo is a new word that I started hearing about two years ago. Something that is becoming very popular down here. There are more new words but that's for another video.

It would be awesome if at the beginning of each video you 'll show us a map of Puerto Rico with the location of the pueblo your visiting to use as a reference . You know ? for the Gringos and for the Puertorricans that grow up in the Area Metro and don't know the Island very well .

There are cheaper drones from DJI, but I don't use them because their batteries don't last as long and they cannot fly as far.
