Dang. I watched this and felt like my story was being told through her. I feel the exact same way, and owe a lot of gratitude to the folks at Tandy in Louisville for helping me along the way. I've only been at it for about a year, but I love it and the staff at the Louisville store has been very gracious with answers, advice, etc. Great video.
I miss that shop. I'm sure the manager (can't remember his name,) that made beautiful bags. Saw him a few times at the Hoover shop, then heard he went back to programming. Lovely work
I've been working with leather since the 80S it's a diving art the tandy monthly magazines used to have patterns in them I have a lot of them I even started making pictures in giant dream catchers I love tool&die
Sue - The best advice I could give you is to find a Tandy store. They will have everything you need, from a starter tool kit to answers and advice. Be prepared to spend money! LOL. It is a great hobby, but if you get hooked you'll be buying more and more...good luck.
Here is a great place to start. This e-book teaches the basics of leather sandal making and gives examples of many types to make. www.leathercraftlibrary.com/p-1153-sandal-making.aspx
